Banks' Seafood Kitchen & Raw Bar
Terrific food in a lovely place with professional waitstaff. We have been frequenting Banks for a long time. Always enjoy the atmosphere and the service.
They should warn people that the Bronzini comes with the head & tail on it when ordering. My friend was taken by surprise when it came, but the waitress offered to have it filleted which they did.
My son took me here for lunch for my birthday. I had the $15.00 2 course lunch. The food was excellent. The desserts we had were fabulous. It would be worth it to go there just for the desserts.
Food was good! Service was even better. Ashley was pleasant and very helpful with our food selections.
Outstanding food & service. Background Acoustics were overwhelming at times. Otherwise a solid 4.99.
The noise level; not your fault. That the lights went out; not your fault. That the food was okay but the mussels were gritty, chewy and didn't taste right; I think you know.
They sat me at a regular table which I had asked for in my comments after seeing that they were going to seat me at a high top. This was greatly appreciated. The food was very good and came in a reasonable amount of time. The waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. Try the shaved Brussels sprout salad; it was very, very good and the salmon melted in my mouth.
We had a lovely lunch. We both had the $15 specials and they were very hood. We split the Apple Crumb dessert & it was delicious. Our server Page was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Very pleasant birthday lunch with my sister.
Food was average and pricey. Service was good but not a lot of traffic on a Wednesday night in October. Simply Under-impressed.
Have never understood how this could be called a seafood restaurant and not have shrimp os an entre on the menu.
I did find shrimp as an appetizer.
We went for lunch on our anniversary. I had the stone crab claws which were excellent. I then had a crab cake salad which was disappointing. A lot of mixed greens (too many) with a sad little crab cake on top. The crab cake which used to be my favorite was very dry and I didn't finish it. My husband's halibut was cooked beautifully in the middle but dry at the edges.
Service was excellent.
Food was way overpriced for what was served. Lobster was over cooked, no real sides included with $30-40 plates. A real let down based on other reviews. I was thinking it was going to be super unique and tasty, but it’s barely a step up from Red Lobster at more than 2x the price.
My ceviche sampler was the best thing they served, but so small and they brought out the wrong order the first time. Had to go out for dessert afterwards just to fill up.
Were seated in the section adjacent to the bar but requested main dining room. Bar area is noisy
Server John was great attentive and informative. I had red fish and guest had whole lobster both were excellent
Food was good, interior decor was very nice. Prices were fair. Overall, it was a good experience. The one thing that kept it from being a great experience was the time it took for our meal to come to the table once order was placed. approximately 40 minutes! and there were open tables....Almost made me late for my show...
Three of us opted for the lobster roll and one opted for the CRABMEAT AND ARTICHOKE DIP. All were quite good. The lobster rolls are not like the ones we get in Maine and Cape Cod but good nevertheless. Noise level was good enough to carry on a sane conversation without shouting. Price was decent not a bargain but fair.
I had chosen Banks for our dinner location right after getting engaged at the Wilmington Riverfront. I called the restaurant to make some special arrangements for our experience and they were more than accommodating. A HUGE shoutout to our server Alexis and everyone else who made our special day that much better by treating us like Royalty. Oh and as expected, our food was absolutely delicious!!!
Birthday and meeting of family from abroad
We were a large group (11) but our server seemed unfazed by our number and kept all of our orders straight while engaging everyone with light conversation. The food, as always, was delicious. The seared tuna was perfectly rare and the bronzino an adventure - whole, grilled fish served on a baking stone.
My husband and I had a delightful lunch here. My husband had one of the Ceviches which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the crab cakes which were very good.
Lunch was delicious and the views wonderful.
It was great!
Our server, Brooke was delightful. Very knowledgeable about wines and the menu. We had a great time
My wife and I recently had our first dinner at Bank's Seafood Kitchen. We were not totally sure what to expect, but our server Cheyenne was terrific and making suggestions. I had the sea scallop entree and it was really stunning. My wife had the large grilled shrimp entree and was totally impressed with the amount and quality of the shrimp and side dishes. We recommend Bank's to anyone who enjoys really great seafood. Ask for Cheyenne's because she is the best server we have experienced in several years. Also Bank's deserts are really great too.
Great food and ambiance
Chef Banks gets it right. We visit this restaurant once a month and this time was really great food and service.
Great food and presentation. Very accommodating to a fussy teenager's menu. Monk Hong fish was wonderful as well as Scallops.
I bring my friends here once a month for lunch and the food is outstanding each time! For the most part, the wait staff is good and we get served quickly and they are friendly. We look forward to our monthly excursions to Banks!
First time there.
Great view, food, service.
Terrible service. Server never came back after the first few bites of our appetizers. I had to get up and flag someone down to get more bread. Then I had to go find a manger so we could pay. The manager did not do anything to address the issue except find our server to run my credit card. Food was very good and the patio was nice. Too bad that we will never go back.
Excellent food and service! Timing and arrival of food very good also!
The waiter brought the wrong item. But, all of the food was well prepared.
Not nearly as good as it was before changing over to Banks. The food was mediocre. Setting is still great though.
The 2 courses lunch menu is great value and delicious!
Took the family to celebrate a birthday.
First - we had a reservation, the place was pretty empty and they didn’t have our table set up.
Service was slow (it seemed like there was only one waitress and we frequently saw her running all around the restaurant).
We’ve been to the restaurant before however this time the food - all of it - was just average and definitely not “renowned”. I’d recommend going for drinks and apps at the bar - skip the meal bc it’s expensive and doesn’t deliver at its price point.
The service was excellent and the setting very comfortable. The food was quite visually appealing and appeared in a timely manner. Overall, it was a great experience for my mother-in-law's 95th birthday!!
I have a sad feeling that quality is slipping a bit here. The soup wasn't hot, the shrimp wasn't that good, and the lobster salad was lobster on iceberg and not bib. I would go back as this is the perfect place to be before the theatre, but wouldn't order those items again.
Bank’s has become my favorite restaurant again. Everything went well and the food was excellent.
Banks did a lovely job with dinner on the waterfront once again. All three seafood main courses were excellent, as was the steamed clams appetizer. We shared 2 desserts and our birthday girlfriend walked away with a really nice little box of truffles. While their regular menu items of lobster, crabcakes, mahi mahi, salmon are anything but STANDARD fare, I definitely like to try one of the special fish dishes of the day and I've never been disappointed. Server Ryan was superb, attentive and engaging without being overly present. We enjoyed being out on the patio on a beautiful evening and their set up is terrific. Taking in a performance at DTC? Do not hesitate to enjoy a meal before or after the show at this gem of an eatery just behind the theater parking lot.
Birthday dinner. Great food. Oysters excellent, calamari was great and my sword fish and scallops melted in my mouth. Excellent dinner.
We really enjoyed our dinners. The crab cakes rival any at the beach. Our server was exceptional and made sure that we made it to the theater in plenty of time. We return many times and are never disappointed.
