Food was tasty, selections were plentiful, staff was accommodating and quick with requests. We had a wonderful time with great ambiance.
We were in Wilmington on a hunting trip. Had not tried Banks before. the other seafood restaurant nearby did not take reservations so we went to Banks. Very nice, plump flavorful oysters. Lobster simmered in butter was great. Generous martini. Will go back.
Pleasant service; good food. The front desk ignored us as customers for several minutes. Did not feel welcomed.
Oysters were very fresh and tasty. Had three different fish dishes and all good. Service was attentive. Dinners run $30 plus so be prepared for a $100 plus bill.
Went off of another website recommendations for this spot since it has good reviews of its seafood.
We had reservations thru OT at 5P on a Friday. The restaurant was quiet and didn’t have a lot of patrons. We were greeted by a very nice waitress, Paige, and our order for drinks and appetizers were taken.
Drinks: Allagash White (draft)
Appetizers: Fried pickles and 1lb snow crab claws
The beer was great. Cold and tasted fresh.
The pickles had a really nice breading and it was just perfect. The spears were still crunchy and the dip it came with was tasty. The snow crab claws were a little disappointing. They were clearly previously frozen and had a ‘freezer’ taste. They were not horrible, but for $40 I wouldn’t order them again.
Dinner: crab cake salad (husband) and lobster in the nude (me). Husband loved the salad. The crab cake wasn’t very lumpy - more stringy w/ fillers. I avoid crab cakes because I’m typically not pleased with them - and I wouldn’t have been with this one either. He said the flavor was good, but would have loved to have had a more lumpy cake. My lobster was amazing. Sweet, not over cooked, and perfectly cracked open. I was very pleased with this dinner. You got a lot of meat as well. It came with green beans and red potatoes. The beans were meh, and the potatoes were plain - but it really didn’t matter. Anything next to the lobster was like parsley to me...push that to the side.
Overall I would go back, but avoid items that might not be in season or locally available.
Excellent food in a pleasant atmosphere. Lovely are of Wilmington and Banks’ is a favorite of mine for waterfront dining.
Food is consistently excellent and everyone from the hostess, our waitress Alexis, and busboy were pleasant and provided great service. It was my friend's birthday and they went out of their way to celebrate it . Highly recommend!!
This place never disappoints. The food was delicious and the service was perfect.
Banks seafood never disappoints.. only bad thing I can say is that I wish he’d open a restaurant in NJ lol.. we travel here for the amazing and fresh seafood, beautiful presentation, handcrafted cocktails... superior service
Chef Banks is always present to assure you’ve enjoyed your meal and that your dining experience was perfect. The passion for cooking and hospitality truly shines through .. never disappoints and we will be back again and again.. the tuna appetizers are the best my husband and I ever had- as well as the lobster rolls
Service and food were great. Drinks were adequate. Overall pleasurable experience!
Valentine’s Day Dinner. Have been many times. Nice ambiance. Drinks underrated.Food is consistently good though thought a little overpriced on a few of the fish dishes. Be prepared to spend a little bit
A fantastic place for fresh seafood and cocktails in Downtown Wilmington. Have been a frequent diner for years and highly recommend to others.
Waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Prompt food service and seating. Food was hot and delicious. The ambiance was very nice.
Nice bar, good food, fabulous service. A little less expensive than the previous Harry's.
Excellent night out! We had not been out for dinner in over a year since COVID-19, and Bank's was awesome. We are looking to go back again in about 2.5 months.
Excellent experience. We were 5 minutes late (icy night!) but seated immediately on a busy Valentine's weekend night. Good table separation/high partitions between most booths (50%, Covid). Friendly and personable waitress. Drinks were just ok (peach sangria and an Old Fashioned). Oysters on the half were magnificent, as always. Another appetizer, Ahi Tuna Crisps, was very tasty and fun - sorta like fish nachos - but quite lacking in actual tuna. Wines (Sauvignon Blanc) were both excellent. Our meals were really splendid. She had the Cornmeal Crusted Rainbow Trout: fresh and tasty, as were the accompaniments. No additional seasoning required. I had the Pan Roasted Maryland Rockfish, with a side of green beans. Also fresh and tasty; the pesto and cabbage paired nicely. Both presented well. Beans were cooked al dente with a sprinkling of tomatoes. Tasty gelato assortment to close things out.
We LOVE Banks' Seafood! Always the freshest seafood. We love the fresh oysters and the big eye tuna. The tuna crisps are an amazing appetizer.
We last visited on the Saturday before Valentines Day. We chose an early time to avoid crowds and we had the place to ourselves. Perfect every time we visit!
Fantastic as always !! Stone crabs claws were amazing !
Food was stellar but expensive! But where else in Delaware can you find Stone Crab Claws? Excellent experience and will be back again.
Food was fantastic! Shrimp, oysters, tilapia and Bronzino were fresh and delicious.
Fantastic food. Great server. Perfect place for our daughter’s 18th birthday dinner.
Started with some fresh, cold and perfectly shucked oysters, then husband had the lobster roll and I had the mussels. A perfect lunch with a couple of drinks. Can't wait to go back.
We were by the kitchen. It is expected to be loud. Service was great and food was excellent.
Wonderful meal! My fish, the halibut, was prepared perfectly, and delivered piping hot. My husbands naked lobster was equally impressive. We shared berries for dessert, and the were at there peak of ripeness. I would also recommend the pomegranate lemon martini.
Food was good, service excellent and overall experience felt safe and pleasant.
Seated immediately!
Greeted by our very pleasant waitress who was very well versed with the menu. The apps and meal took no time and were very very tasty. Cant wait for warmer weather to sit outside.
Great place for incredible seafood. Clams Casino were outstanding!
Makes food was great and I waitress was perfect thank you
Always outstanding food and service!
Consistently great food & service! One of my favorite spots!!
The meal, as always, was excellent. There were very few diners due to Covid. It remains my favorite restaurant.
We had 730 reservations and we arrived on time we were told there was a wait after 15 minutes we were seated at a table by the door. It’s cold out, meanwhile people that came in after us were promptly seated at a booth and waited on, we had to flag dow the hostess to get a waitress, we almost just got ready to leave.
Waitress was attentive once we were seated for a while. I would have liked quicker service to get the appetizers and drinks while we decided on our menu choices. My food was mediocre at best. Each other restaurant describes my meal as Ahi Tuna. Banks has it as One Eye Tuna on their menu. I thought I was trying something different. Many other restaurants represent the dish better.
My three dining companions were extremely happy with their meals.
$100+ per person after tip. Includes one bottle of wine.
The food was delicious from appetizer to desserts. We felt very taken care of and comfortable! What a wonderful lunch date. Chef Banks puts all of his passion into his food and you can taste it with each bite.
Food was good. Had some fish dishes and oysters. Would like to know how the other dishes were.
It was just wonderful as always
Banks is the best for fresh seafood! Sushi, sashimi, oysters the BEST! Our go to local restaurant for seafood
Restaurant was very quiet due to the limited number of customers. Would recommend for any occasion.
Really bad service took for ever for everything.
Also food is not good for the price u paying !
Birthday lunch, we sat out on the open patio facing river, lovely and the food and service were great!!
