My friends and I were looking to try something new & thought Bar Amelie looked interesting with their tapas style menu. Being a long weekend, we thought we'd have trouble getting a table, but they had heaps of availability. On arrival, we were happy to find the restaurant was very quiet, clearly not many bookings at all. That said, the service was very slow and staff were a little unattentive (not rude) but the food was absolutely amazing, so we didn't care. Wine and drinks menu was also quite extensive. Would highly recommend for a group function, friends catch up or romantic night out.

I decided to try a different experience for my birthday besties lunch as we generally just choose a restaurant with shared entrees and mains. A friend recommended Bar Amelie. I booked a table of 7 for the Afternoon Tea experience…… An experience to behold it sure was. The vibe, the friendly engaging staff and the savoury and sweet tapas were delicious, delightfully presented and fit for a Queen. With top quality free flowing Prosecco to boot! Nothing to fault - absolutely gold class and for $75 per person unbelievable!!! Thank you for making my birthday extraordinary. We were delighted beyond words and will be back.

We made a last minute booking for 10 people at Bar Amelie for a special event when the booking we had at another restaurant fell through at only 1 hours notice (due to unforeseen issues). The staff were fantastic in accommodating us and making the event special for us. The food was really lovely and they have a really good wine selection. The dishes are made for sharing - which worked really well for our group - and we were able to find plenty of options for the gluten-free, dairy-free and vegetarian members of our group. All the staff were great - really friendly and helpful. An evening that could have been a disaster ended up being really great and I can't thank the Bar Amelie team enough :-)

When we arrived there was only one other person in the restaurant and we were seated at the table immediately next to his which seemed very silly given the size of the restaurant. A waitress who happened to be passing asked if we would prefer a booth which we agreed to so we moved. Most of the meal was enjoyable, however, the eggplant croquettes were stodgy and gluggy and the tomato sauce tasted like it had come straight out of a bottle. The cerviche was also quite thick and I have never tasted sweet caviar before. We shared four dishes and a glass of wine each and the bill came to $128 - too expensive for the quality of the tapas served. Lovely ambiance and good service, but more attention to the detail of the food is needed.

What a pleasant surprise! We had a selection of tapas sharing plates, including a grilled haloumi salad, seared scallops and whiting fillets followed by two larger dishes, wagyu beek ragout gnocchi and a confit duck leg. Every dish was mouth watering and exceptionally tasty. The seafood was fresh (good going for a Sunday night!) and the confit duck leg was outstanding - crispy skin and the meat fell off the bone. The wagyu beek ragout was delicious and the gnocchi were light and fluffy. The staff were friendly and funny, we even met Chef who, lo and behold, actually had a personality (unlike most chefs!). Wine selection was good but would have liked to have seen French wines by the glass as the vibe is definitely francophile. Pretty goof value for money also. Looking forward to coming back soon.

We had an excellent time here. The staff were friendly, accommodating and professional - nothing was too much trouble. The "hands on" owner runs a relaxed but very smart operation and I could tell she has a real passion for what she is doing. The food we had was excellent, I even ate a couple of things (beetroot salmon and asparagus - normally a no go zone) which surprised me as much as my wife! All the best to them and looking forward to when we can come again!

One of the few restaurants we found open on New Years Day, so it was a little quiet when we arrived. We had the $90 Chefs tapas selection (5 dishes), very tasty and more than enough food for 2 people. Great staff and relaxed vibe. Music seemed loud at first but soon you dont notice so much. We'll definitely be back

Lovely people who are obliging, helpful and patient, great food, nice wine list and a very comfortable atmosphere. We were very warmly welcomed by the bar staff and the restaurant manager, enjoyed a pleasant predinner drink outdoors, sadly our friends drinks were overlooked for some reason but no matter, the evening was delightful and we will return again. It’s great having such a professionally run bar and restaurant close to home, a firm favourite. Thank you!!

It has great ambience, but the noise was a bit high mainly due to the music. I thought of moving outside but decided not to as it involved my other guests. Food was great and we all enjoyed sharing which gives us a taste of the different plates you serve up. Thanks Fred

Enjoyed duck fat potatoes with aioli to start. Very nice. Three dishes to share as mains, the chicken was excellent as was the whiting. The chorizo, pork and fennel was just the right level of heat. Excellent. We both had the trio of crème brûlée for dessert., the mango and the raspberry were especially good. All of this was washed down with a bottle of Margaret River Devils Lair red. An enjoyable meal.

Girl’s Christmas dinner. Fabulous in every way. My 3rd visit here. First was for quiet drinks with my husband and and other couple , then bites and drinks with some friends and then Xmas dinner drinks with gfriends. When you think it can’t get better it just does! Great menu, chefs selection for 2 was huge , added 5 dishes to share, champagne , red wine , white wine and cocktails ! A bar with all the comforts. Classy booths, friendly quick service, nice atmosphere. Supper club (live music and a select range of cocktails) starts 9pm f/n. A perfect addition to an already awesome bar.
