My fiancé and I had heard about Bibou for a while and decided to try it out on his birthday. It exceeded all expectations and was just the right portion size. We were very pleased with all the dishes and will definitely be back.
Such a wonderful restaurant. We have come back several time and will continue to do so. Try sitting at the bar for a change of pace, it's a lot of fun. Cheers
One of the best meals I've ever had and incredible service!
Wonder, fixed price, tasting menu; every item was incredible
I can't believe I waited this long to come to the restaurant but I had. Generally when you go to restaurants with this reputation you are somewhat disappointed. I was not. It wasn't perfect but for 9 courses, it was very close.
Bibou continues to be one of the best tasting menus anywhere. The chef has an outstanding staff in both front and back of the house. Tasting menus are not for everyone but if you are willing to let the chef and the wait staff amaze you, you are in for the meal of a lifetime.
Our second time at Bibou and it was just as wonderful as the first time. The service and presentation really enhances the fabulousness of the food. A big shout out to Jeffrey who was so engaging and friendly (and who helped us name our new dog) and to all of the other servers who really make you feel like royalty. But let us not leave out the best part which is the food itself, every bite is scrumptious, the flavors delight. Kudos to the Chef who is also charming and engaging. This is my favorite dining experience! Thanks again to Bibou for making us feel so special!
Fantastic meal! Chef Pierre and his team made us feel welcome and at home!
If you can't be in a Paris bistro, this is the place to eat. Excellent sensual dining experience.
Delroy and Eli fantastic. Chef Pierre Calmels’ dished exquisite.
Outstanding, fantastic food, excellent service!
This was a disappointing evening despite the excellent service and dedication of the chef and staff. My view may be a minority one, since other diners seemed to be enjoying their meal enormously. The basic problems were: the food sometimes had little taste, sometimes had garnishes that were too strong for the main focus of the dish, and sometimes was overcooked. The unalloyed success was the dessert souffle. The celeri and chestnut soup was an example of a dish that had little taste. The partridge would have been wonderful but was overcooked; here the garnishes worked and the presentation of the dish was excellent. For one dish the presentation was unattractive. In general, the plates were too small. The menu changes every week, which might mean other weeks would fare better.
The food is amazing. Service is great. Can’t wait to go back!
As always chief pierre outstanding ...
Top notch French restaurant worthy of the 2009 Dom Perignon we brought with us! Innovative chef with spectacular servings. The wait staff was extremely attentive and most knowledgeable about their fare. The truffle opportunity for sight and smell was an extra ordinary delight and worth every (upgrade) penny! We chose to try both the black and white truffles. Our server expertly shaved the black truffles over the Saucisson Brioche and the white truffles over the venison. The tastes were divine! And to add that personal touch, Chef Pierre Calmels visited with us. We will be going back!
It was a quiet night and they seemed anxious ti finish up
felt rushed at the end
never even asked us if we wanted coffee
bill came while we were eating desert
that said food was wonderful, a unique place
Do you want that special moment or food that you you won’t taste outside of France .....come here! Chef is fabulous in creating his weekly menu and waitstaff is always impeccable!!!
Lovely evening at Bibou. Charming place. Professional staff. Delicious meal.
Best restaurant in Philadelphia that I have experienced. Outstanding food and ambience.
Excellent dining experience! The meal was perfectly paced over 2.5 hours. Every dish was impeccably plated and the flavors melded perfectly. I will definitely come back when I return to Philadelphia!
The Best Restuarant in Philadelphia. We have been there many times and never disappointed. If u want ambience and a delicious dinner I highly recommend Bibou. The team really makes it a special night.
Bibou is one of the finest restaurants in Philly without qualification. The food, the service, the beautiful (but very small) room.
Did I mention food! From the first little morsels through the courses, every bite is to be savored.
We had not been for a couple years while we were exiled in Germantown during our Fairmount house renovation. What were we thinking?
Take a bottle of the best white and red wine you can find and GO! We took some favorite Chardonnay & Pinot Noir from the Russian River--both fit right in.
There is no chance of disappointment at Bibou.
Still the No.1 best French restaurant and with Vetri us the top fine dining experience in Philadelphia. No one in this town can create classic French sauces as well as Pierre Calmel.
Exceptional experience. The tasting menu , each coarse done to perfection, impeccable presentation and service. The wait staff very friendly and knowledgeable each coarse explained and any questions answered. Bibou is a true neighborhood gem, fit for foodies. Bibou is a BYOB restaurant that is certainly worth the price. Simply a great dinning experience.
An absolute gem, with a mix of some tweaked favorites, and new ideas. Just delightful.
It was fun to try the many small courses. The amuses bouche were lively , and the fish course and four grad and dessert really stood out. The main veal course , a blanquette was disappointing. Still a cozy, lovely place for a special occasion.
Chef is at the top of his game here: an exquisite and highly creative tasting menu that would be 2x the cost in nyc. Check the new weekly menu on the website each week before you go. Bring your own finest wines: burgundy and champagne are best choices. Bibou should be full and turning over every night. It’s easily the best cooking in Philly.
The meal was overpriced and shockingly mediocre. What was a high quality unpretentious bistro has become a parody of ill-conceived, pseudo creative cuisine.
This was our third time, we love the place, we get a chance to try foods we never see in other restaurants. This last time on the menu was Scottish Hare. The soufflé is amazing.
Pierre continues to work wonders. Had a delightful evening.
Amazing experience as always
Great dinner, we had a wonderful experience, possibly the best meal I've had in Philadelphia.
This byob French restaurant is a gem! Outstanding and creative food, wonderful service and quiet enough to have a conversation in a warm and quaint atmosphere. My personal favorite ( and it was hard to choose among the delicious food ) was the plum soufflé.
One of the best meals I've ever had. Looking forward to checking out their winter menu!
This is an opportunity to experience a great French chef in an intimate environment. We enjoyed it greatly and felt it was worth every penny. Talking to Pierre after the meal was excellent.
Wonderful experience. Chef Pierre was amazing and visited every table to make sure everyone enjoyed their experience at the Resturant !
We did! Service was 5 star !
What a wonderful find! An intimate restaurant that feels comfortable and cozy... just 8 tables! A interesting and very flavorful tasting menu ( that’s all they serve). You need to be willing to place yourself into the very capable hands of chef Pierre. The BYO wine was especially great for us....they don’t have wine service. A real gem
Always a special treat to dine at Bibou. Inventive twist on delicious French cuisine, beautifully served. An occasion place or just a special night out.
A fantastic restaurant. great for anniversary or special celebrations, or if you just want some really really nice food. FYI, You have to bring your own wine.
