Blue Moon Evolution
Since 1995 Blue Moon has been serving fresh, local and organic fare in an environment of respectful, friendly service. Set in an upbeat, open, kitchen-friendly atmosphere, Blue Moon has been recognized and awarded with Billy Costa’s TV Diner Gold Plate Award, Taste of the Seacoast magazine’s Best of 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 awards and New Hampshire Magazine’s Best of NH 2005, 2013 & 2014, just to name a few. Our commitment to providing nutrient-dense, sumptuous fare has made us a beacon in the locavore movement.
We’ve visited Blue Moon Evolution 5 times now and have raved about and recommended. Saturday’s visit led us to say we won’t be back. Entrees over salted and odd pairings (green goddess green beans???). Service is great but can’t make up for the not so great food
100% yes! Amazing, fresh food. Consistently great! We drive 25 min to go here too often, just happy I don't live too close ;)
Blue moon is our favorite restaurant in the area. Haven’t been to much better anywhere. The staff is incredible and the food is even better. The owner Kathy has done an amazing job. When we get a chance to go out we go here
Lovely atmosphere and really great staff. The menu is a bit limited, but it’s online so check it out before committing. Two of our party ordered the steak and were disappointed. The fish cake appetizer was bland, flavorless and mushy. This was our second visit and we’ll wait for the menu to change and likely try again.
We love this restaurant. It was our second time there. We have dairy and gluten allergies and they were so accommodating for us. They made everything so we could eat it.
The atmosphere was peaceful and elegant. The wait-staff attended to my every need. The food is a little pricy, but it is definitely worth it. I recommend the oyster mushroom risotto made vegan. Between that and the bread, the meal was impeccable. In addition to the service and high-quality meal, the time it took for the food to come out was half the time of most restaurants. The only thing that disappointed was online some of the menus have still yet to be updated. In other words, don’t except them to have the vegan avocado chocolate pie. :( Overall though, I highly recommend this restaurant and can not wait to return back soon.
My wife and I try to eat here at least once a year. We’ve never had a bad meal - they are always amazing with great specialty cocktails. The flowerless chocolate torte with fresh, French-pressed coffee is our go-to way to end the meal. We’re always impressed with the local, farm fresh choices of proteins and cheeses. 5 stars!
Never disappointed. Food and service outstanding. Hope they keep the fish cakes on the menu.
Just a lovely place with great food. Always new items every time I go. The wait staff couldn’t be nicer.
First time we have eaten at Blue Moon for lunch. We liked all the options (better options than the dinner menu). The fish tacos were outstanding. The chicken sandwich was good as was the soup. We plan to return to try other dishes.
A bit expensive
I used to frequent Blue Moon Evolution (almost weekly dining out in the past) but have not gone in perhaps 1-2 years. Sad to find out the quality of the food has greatly deteriorated and the service has been poor, unlike before. The drinks (Beatnik) used to be a lot better and I feel the drinks have been watered down. Like drinking mostly swill. The food was meh at best. Will likely not return, sadly. Spent $350 for dinner and do not feel it was a good value at all.
Great as always!
We ate st Blue Moon Evolution for our son’s graduation from Exeter. The cheese and charcuterie board, the spinach salad, and the lemon haddock were all excellent. In the past four years, this has become our favorite restaurant in Exeter.
Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff delicious and food. We will go again!
One delightful lunch! The food was delicious and our waitress was so delightful. It was restaurant week and I was so impressed that the special offering included gluten free options. Everything was so fresh and delicious. We loved it!
Love this restaurant! The service is always excellent - thank you Marjorie! The food is fresh, perfectly prepared and has wonderful seasonal variation.
Delicious as always. Only one vegan entree option and one vegan dessert option, which was a little disappointing. We ended up splitting an appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. Everything we ate tasted delicious.
Stayed in town just for a second visit...had been there three years ago
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Exeter. The menu is constantly changing to feature fresh and local ingredients, and we’ve always been delighted by the food and flavors. Their staff is friendly and provides great service, especially Anna 😀. We love the ambience there - it is warm and understated with a cozy fireplace, pretty windows, and art from local painters on the walls.
We had a lovely time. Waitstaff and bus staff so well trained. Too bad about not totally gluten free bread. Perhaps a bit fewer beans on the pork dish . Sometimes noise level can be a problem when restaurant is very full ,last night just occasionally. Fireplace on last night welcoming in our terrible spring weather!
I do recommend Blue Moon Evolution to others. I love everything about it!
Outstanding service, fantastic food
This was the second visit to Blue Moon for us. It was even better than the last time. The chef is definitely something special. Very creative dishes, everyone with a perfect symphony of flavors. Even the bar master is very creative, with awesome drinks to delight those looking for unique cocktails. Wine we had was very nice and what I like to call a “value pour”. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. It’s a 5 star experience at a $$$ price, so well worth the final bill.
Delicious nutritious whole food served in a warm welcoming environment.
Blue Moon Evolution met our expectations and more. The manager from Inn by the Bandstand, Rebekah, recommended it and we were thrilled. I have a severe food allergy and they were very respectful of it and were sure to give me a meal that I could eat with no problem. We will be sure to go to Bluemoon next time we are in the area and we will recommend it.
No doubt the best food I have eaten in the area. The board appetizer contains so many different tastes that are great individually and paired. The chef's main entrees also are packed with flavors that mix well together and also separately. I was just on a one week vacation in Exeter and ate dinner here 5 times.
Great place to indulge in healthy, clean food. We recently dined here to celebrate an early mothers day and had an excellent time. Marjorie our waitress took care of everything and had great recommendations from apps to desert and everything in between. With some allergies and a GF partner we can always count on this place to take care of us. Thanks!
We had great service and a nice table at our early Mother's Day dinner. I do have to say that the lunch menu seems to have more items and variety than the dinner menu. We all enjoyed our unique dinners but it may be good to have a few more traditional items and flavors available.
I have already recommended it twice! Wonderful wait staff and owner is delightful!
Always a enjoyable time. The service is exceptional and the food is in a league of its own. I never have to worry about any inferior ingredients in the food. It’s always of the highest standards. It’s one of my favorites restaurants.
The service and food were exceptional!
Always a wonderful experience.
This is my favorite restaurant anywhere. Service, food quality as well as ethical local sourcing is beyond any where I’ve been.
The atmosphere is beautiful, the food is wonderful and the service is the best. What else can you ask for? Healthy menu selections, organic local sources ? Yes that too. One of the best restaurants in the seacoast of NH.
Wonderful and creative food sourced locally.
We have been to the Blue Moon twice in the last week. Once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times our experience was excellent. Food, service and atmosphere all perfect. One note - when we went for dinner we had to change our reservation from 2 to 3 people then came back and changed the time. They were very accomodating and friendly. That is the mark of a truly good restaurant.
Beautiful corner table for four on a Thursday evening. Our entrees were delayed, for some unknown reason. Our server, Anna, brought us each a yummy bowl of lentil soup.
None of us finished it bc we didn’t want to spoil our appetite but a kind gesture, nevertheless
Dining with friends at Blue Moon Evolution is always an enjoyable evening, and this occasion was no exception. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the service was just the right amount of attentiveness, and was very professional. Our server even gave our birthday girlfriend a scoop of ice cream with a candle to celebrate.
Always a favorite when we visit Exeter. Great service and food.
Second time there. Server had a lot of tables, was nice not to be rushed, but a little too much waiting. I got the pork shank , it was delicious although I wish it was served hot. Drinks were excellent. Server Anna was very pleasant and competent.
