My friends and I were out for happy hour at your restaurant. This was the 1st time going. Our server was Lisa..she was not friendly and not attentive. She did not check on us. It took a good 30 minutes for her to come back over. The ambience of the restaurant was nice but our server did not make it a nice experience. We also did not like there was an automatic 20% tip included when we felt it should have been less because of the bad service. We are thinking about not going back.

My wife and I dined here on Halloween night and had an absolutely lovely time. The food is a true delight, drinks were also delicious, and the service was solid. Definitely recommend — this is one of our new favorites for date night.

We were in a room where all but three tables was a private party! It was very noisy and people were eating buffet style and standing on top of us. They should not have reserved tables for people not in party. Very uncomfortable. Waiter was also very busy with other private table party. Not our usual experience here at all

Wow! Loves this place. Each plate was better than the last. Great pace of service, just has you were finishing one plate the next was hitting the table. Staff were knowledgeable and provide great recommendations for wine pairing. Can’t wait to go back:p

A mind blowing good time. Service and food were perfect. Flaming shrimp, short rib and the Chicken kabobs were our favorites. The duck confit was insanely good and my son couldn’t stop eating it off my plate which is hard to say for a 5 year old. Think we tried 10 or more plates and each one was fantastic. So glad we found this place and will certainly be coming back many more times.

Went to have a birthday celebration. Food was generally good. Unfortunately, the seafood paella was too salty. We had the paella before so we knew what it should be. Fortunately, after we made the complaint, they made us a new one.

Lovely place. Service is fantastic. Food is superb. We tried the mussels with garlic, flamming shrimp, chicken croquettes, chicken empanadas, truffle Mac n cheese. Overall a great experience.

The small plates were good with interesting variety, but the servers rarely checked on us and we had to ask for water, clean plates, etc. They never asked how we were doing and if the food was good.

Deborah and I were in Rockville for the day and our experience at Botanero was memorable. When making the reservation, I requested a table out of the way and the greeter seated us at a window table, perfect for viewing inside and outside and away from most traffic. Our host, Chad, was extremely helpful in describing menu items and making recommendations. The small plates allowed us to try several different foods. Everything was delicious, but the scallops and flaming shrimp were exceptional. Chad also made a great margarita and his wine recommendation was perfect. Botanero is definitely a “must go to”.

Excellent! Bring a sweater though because although the service and hospitality were warm, the temperature was cold. We had the kale salad, short rib flatbread, chicken croquettes, beef empanadas, and the bacon wrapped dates. All were delicious! Hard to choose a favorite, but I think they were the dates and the flatbread. Sauces to accompany everything were flavorful. Portions for tapas were generous—especially the flatbread and the salad! Red Bandito cocktail and the gin cocktail with lavender were creative and much enjoyed. We were in the front room which was lively but not overly noisy. Would highly recommend. Glad we made a reservation. We went early (6:15) but it was bustling about 10 minutes after our arrival.

First time in this eclectic eatery for us, the experience was positive. For the most part, the plates were perfect portions for the two of us and the pricing about right. I thought the octopus, which other reviews raved about, while gorgeous to look at and tasty, was a little short on the actual octopus...little overcooked coins amongst the lentils. I'm more accustomed to a charred, tender leg presentation. We'll be back for another try.
