Restaurant Week 2019 Great Deal Great Food Service Impecable
Food and service at Boulud Sud is fantastic! Would highly recommend for anyone.
Average food in a dated setting. Attention to detail in presentation.
Everything was lovely. The restaurant week menu was among the best I have seen. My three guests and I were all delighted with our choices, which ranged from a perfectly-textured leek and potato soup with chive oil, to moist lamb burgers and a delectable slow-cooked salmon with a cauliflower purée. The fun of eating out is to try things one cannot do at home; here the level of finesse and invention is such one is never disappointed. I particularly appreciated the fact that there were two reasonably priced wine choices, by the glass and the bottle, to accompany the menu. Service was excellent and unhurried, which suited four retirees who needed time to chat. Altogether, a very warm experience on an exceedingly cold day.
Celebrating birthday which was nicely acknowledged
We came to celebrate husband’s birthday and they did a special dessert for him. We had done the 5 course tasting and was good and unique. Worth the price. Definitely coming back again.
everything was outstanding!!! The sea bass was great as was the chicory salad and the mango dessert. Service was excellent...will return there again when back in NYC
Superb and exceptional. Rather $$ but cuisine and service were beyond description. Our server was perhaps the best was have experienced since moving to the neighborhood.
Excellent service, amazing food, knowledgeable waiter and meet all expectations !
Absolutely delicious food! Creative presentation and excellent service! I would recommend asking for a table that seats four even if there are two of you. The seats are very tight and packed in. Not private at all. Overall it was an amazing experience and loved my meal!
It was OK. Service was attentive. It was fairly expensive for mediocre fare. I guess we were paying for the convenience of being across from Lincoln Center.
We visit NYC once or twice a year and try to get to Boulud Sud each visit. The Mediterranean influenced Southern French menu is outstanding. We particularly like the octopus first course. Staff is terrific. Bartender Jonathan re-created for us a specialty cocktail that is no longer on the menu. A great place for dinner prior to Lincoln Center events. I never give five stars, so here is 4.7 for Boulud Sud.
Found this restaurant while looking for a place close to Lincoln Center. Did not disappoint, was very good!
Most restaurants in the area have a pre fixe menu for the 'before theater' crowd, which applied to us. They had very nice options with a broad range of fish and beef.
Waiter and staff were very helpful as well.
We were going to the Beaumont Theater, which is a notch down on the dress code. But, the La Boheme was playing as well, so it was a great people watching location with lots of tuxedos and evening dresses.
A great place, you won't be disappointed!
and friendly. The three course pre-theater menu is good value and has a good selection of choices in each category. Post theater if also good.
Went to Boulud Sud before the opera last week. The food was great, with so many interesting flavors. It’s funny, we ended up talking to each other about the food the whole time. Desert was amazing, too. Try the grapefruit sorbet for a real surprise.
everthing was good, except it was expensive, and the environment is rather staid.
When the service is good, this is a wonderful restaurant. Excellent and creative cooking and interesting wine list. Can highly recommend.
Great restaurant Great food, I believe there was a shift change so we could not find our waiter for a while. Also when Alec Baldwin walked in with his wife Hilaria there was a lot of attention to he & his wife.
Love the food and ambiance but we have never had very good service any of the times we have dined there. The waiters are neglectful and disappear for long periods of time.
The perfect place to warm up on a cold gloomy NYC night. The food and service is always excellent and the location is ideal. I always feel welcome and the sommelier astounds me with options/suggestions. My only constructive feedback is the interior is ready for an update.
The staff was very welcoming. They bad the gift of showing up at the perfect moments. The meals tasted great and the propotions, again, perfect. Then therw was the tastw of EVERYRHING. The ambience is quietly elegant, andcomfortable.
Love love love. The true undiscovered gem of the uws
Consistently good. Noisier on Saturday than mid week - as expected. Also very professional and efficient service even when under a deadline because of a concert across the street.
Food was spectacular and the waitress we had was knowledgeable and pleasant. Only problem is they took to long getting our food to us and we almost missed the beginning of the show we were seeing that night. Still an amazing experience though.
Perfect from beginning to end! Can't wait to return.
I was surprised the risotto truffle dish -- was so skimpy. I couldn't be more than 1/8 cup of risotto on the plate. The truffle was ample enough -- or maybe it looked bountiful next to the skimpy portion of risotto. It could be a visual restaurant trick to make the truffle look more than it was.
Just wow!!! I consider myself to be a “foodie”. They have the best hummus I have ever had in my life! Food was utterly divine and it should be on everyone’s Bucket List to eat here - no matter where you live!!
As always a welcoming reception and a concern for diners' comfort. Inventive Mediterranean food and attentive, friendly service. I always look forward to dining here.
It's really too bad that this well-appointed restaurant of Chef Boulud just misses the mark for "Very Good"; actually, his casual place around the corner, Bar Boulud hits it MUCH better; too bad, it's such a lovely space.
I will say that once again the selection of wines by the glass are truly superb, best in the city! But they are at Bar Boulud too, so that's where I'll have my next glass; maybe if the food can be refined we'll be back, but not till then.
Excellent food and service. Tables are not too close together which really allows for good conversational tones. Have eaten here repeatedly. Always a winner!
The food is great, no question about that. The service is very American, a lot of bright happy well-trained people, and a secondary staff that re-tops your waterglass after every sip. You will be interrupted and asked about water regardless whether your confessing a mortal sin or proposing marriage, or simply arriving at the punchline of a good story. Because water. Even tough it was an off-theater night and the place was half empty I had to pick from the Prix fixe Menü, but that was clearly declared when I made the reservation. I may be pouty over being treated like a toddler when it comes to choices or changes, but I can’t pretend I didn’t know that going in. It’s quite brightly lit, so not exactly romantic or clandestine, but not as loud as many other NY restaurants. Nonetheless: the food is brilliant, and I’ve gone back many times
Great pre-theater dinner, very creative and tasty dishes
If I could give this restaurant 10 stars on here I would. The food was delicious and very flavorful. The courses were timed perfectly and I would highly recommend coming here for a nice romantic dinner.
Loved it! Great food! It never disappoints. The hardest part is making a choice.
The Sunday paella special was great food and an excellent value. Service (James) was accommodating and not overbearing. It was a pleasant experience after a wonderful Lincoln Center show.
Fabulous Mediterranean! Perfect, light brunch. Do t miss the Harbor BreeE & the Bric
The food is excellent but the service is getting worse and worse. I hope they do something about that.
The restaurant calms down a little after the pre-opera/concert/ballet crowd leaves and the menu flips from prix fixe to the full dinner menu. The food is excellent, service efficient but not rushed, wine advice reliable, and the pricing fair for this location in NYC. This restaurant has kept its standards high over the years and merits revisiting.
Friends birthday and we were seated soon after arriving for our pre theater dinner. Tables were close enough together that the waiters and bussers kept knocking into my chair. Luckily the table was large enough that I was able to move to another chair.
We both enjoyed our dinners but we both found the food overly salty and I like salt. Service was professional.
