Guy is the best! He remembered us and he's so friendly! He also sings a beautiful happy birthday! The waffle grilled cheese with pastrami was delicious and plentiful!
Best dinner in town
Great service, great food in historic location,
The service was exactly what I expected from this restaurant group. Spotless, and exceptional service. Food was delicious.....especially the avocado toast.
Always return to Brooklyn Diner when in NYC. Food is always well prepared, although, for us, the portions are too large. Nice to have a full bar service and plenty of dessert choices. Comfort food at its best. Service was tremendous, attentive, and it was quiet on a Sunday night.
Great breakfast with experienced service that will make your culinary experience enjoyable
Great food service outdoor space was great
Great breakfast. Great service. Excellent location. Hot spot for some celebs to stop by and enjoy some local food. We saw a couple of NBC and CBS News anchors eating there.
A friend and I were frequent visitors to Brooklyn Diner following our Carnegie Hall concerts. We returned yesterday ( July 30) for an alfresco lunch. The restored version is no less inviting with impecable service and scrumptious favorite cuisine. Our veggie and crab burgers coud not be surpassed. Luscious cheesecake with just the right sweetness rewarding a gratified palate. Prices were reasonable in lieu of the quality.
Brooklyn Diner aficionados and new explorers should run with all deliberate haste to support this fine dining institution. It remains a cultural and gastronomic treat!
Great experience. The staff and manager were so nice and we loved the food.
The food was good. I had your basic tuna fish sandwich and an iced tea. There was four of us with similar choices and consensus was it was overpriced for what we received.
Service people all seemed to be rushing around like crazy dealing with outside and inside tables. Inside was not particularly busy but nonetheless difficult to get a waiter's attention to order. I had the Pastrami Rueben overly soaked in dressing and the fries were tasteless -- I can't say this was a bad experience -- BUT I was hoping for better.
It was a cool day to sit outside and enjoy our meal. The food was plentiful and very tasty. Armando, our waiter, was exceptional.
The split pea soup was excellent. The Nona's Italian Pot was outstanding. And:
Allen Grubman's Chocolate Blackout Cake was the best dessert that I have had in years.
We reserved a table for six people who needed an environment to share schoolyard stories that spanned some sixty years. We were able to be ourselves at all times plus enjoying some really good food. Quality experience all the way around.
Seating was a little tight, but the food was definitely above standard diner fare. Portions were larger than expected.
Good is not as consistent and fresh and tasty and the menu has changed leaving off some favorite old timers
Suggest they go back to their old menu before the renovation and concentrate on the quality of their food
Great place, very comfortable. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. They were able to serve us quickly so we would not be late for our show. The food was great!
Everything perfect w one exception. Steak came cooked medium. I ordered medium rare. It was still delicious, as was my husbands chicken parm and split pea soup. Our waiter was great. We’ll go again.
Brooklyn Diner is decent food for the price. And in that neighborhood, that in itself is great. Chicken pot pie was very good, and the crabcake sandwich was okay. We went early, so the noise level was tolerable. Terrific service at an early hour. The only disappointment was the draft craft beers were not available.
The Brooklyn Diner is just what it purports to be - a diner. And, it does absolutely the very best job that can be done at being what it sets out to be. The decor and ambiance is diner (albeit high end diner) and the food is diner (more on this in a bit). We have been there many a time and the service is always friendly, timely and expert. Just what one would expect in NYC at an excellent restaurant.
Now the food. While the menu says diner with respect to the selections, we have always found the dishes to be just excellent with respect to quality and if anything, excessive with respect to quantity. The chicken pot pie (hey, it's a diner) is the best I've ever had - by a long shot. And you simply do not want to miss a slice of chocolate cake - one is more than enough for two.
We go to Carnegie Hall often and make the Brooklyn Diner one of our occasional places to go to for a before concert dinner. We always leave full and with a smile.
We had high hopes for this place but honestly it was incredibly overpriced for mediocre food
Food was pretty good. Host from Minnesota was awesome.
Clean, great service, friendly host, food was excellent. We had breakfast which was a little pricey as compared to LI where we're from. Probably the norm for NYC.
Been to Brooklyn Diner many times. Went for the first time in over a year last weekend. Prices have gone way up while quality of food has gone way down
Food was excellent. Made reservations twice and literally walked in both times and were seated. Staff is very friendly.
the waiter was terrible...first off we waited about 15-20 minutes for a cup of soup..then my burger arrived and i had asked for a side of kugel...by the time he brought it to the table, i was already done with the burger...not a once did he come over during the meal to ask if i wanted more water (i ordered fiji), which i did
The staff from entry to exit were amazing! The ambiance for Valentine’s Day was sweet and spot on. The food was appetizing, the presentation was inviting and the food was excellent. They even provided chocolate on the way out the door!
Loved the food and service was great. We would definitely come back to this restaurant and suggest it to our friends
No vanilla ice cream, therefore, I could not get a vanilla milkshake 🙁
Loved the matzoh ball soup!
Food was delicious and the place had some nice charm
Chickens soup is amazing.
Great server with excellent disposition. Food has improved! Chicken soup is Not salty! Excellent seasoning on burger. And coconut cake! I’ll be back!
Great place. Great service. Great food. A bit pricey. But untimely worth it.
We always go to Brooklyn diner for a great meal whenever we visit New York. The staff is so very friendly and the pancakes are amazing too!!!!
Best pot pie ever!! Excellent cheesecake.
The food is great and the proximity to Carnegie Hall is what made us choose the Brooklyn diner. Don’t go here if you want a romantic quiet evening. It is loud and the tables are so close to each other that you can hear your neighbor’s entire conversation.
Great hospitality and fantastic food!
