Nina Compton has done it again! The octopus appetizer was tasty and unbelievably tender. As much as I love the curried goat at Compere Lapin, the curried rabbit is even better. And the Chilean red wine (if it is still available when you visit) goes with both dishes spectacularly. Service is also excellent, and for those who cannot walk there as I can, there is plenty of convenient parking. Highly recommended!
It was amazing from start to finish. While every dish (small or large) was excellent, The Snapper entree was the star of the show and is the best fish dish I have EVER eaten. Service was outstanding. The cocktails were also really tasty.
This is my favorite restaurant in New Orleans and it is incredible every time I eat here.
So happy to have BAB open again! They were the utmost professionals with regard to following government protocols for safety. It was a treat to dine out and celebrate my birthday at this neighborhood favorite.
So good to see the chef there!
Was their first night back in service and everything was great. As usual you are greeting with a friendly smile (masked) and since there was limited capacity there was plenty of room. From the opening cocktail to the dessert everything was on point and wonderful. Will be returning when I can.
The server knows what he is talking about. Take his/her recommendations! Octopus was exceptional in flavor.
This was our second time at BAB. The food was great and we had a good evening marred only by a very noisy table very close to ours. It was a 40th birthday party and whilst I appreciate that large groups will inevitably make a certain amount of noise I resent the attitude that nobody else really matters and that you can make as much noise as you like.
This is a great restaurant. We were there on Friday the 13th 2020. The COVID-19 situation did not stop them from giving us a wonderfully experience. Our waitress Ashley was very personal and really knew the menu.
They do have some interesting menu items. We had rabbit curry and duck. They were good, but not special. We saw comments about the Bistro being a romantic place, but we got more of a trendy vibe.
The was the first restaurant I visited in New Orelans, and it started the trip on a high note because of it. It's an amazingly cute space with friendly and welcoming staff. The food was fantastic, even for classics there was an interesting twist and everything was fresh and toasted fantastic. I will be stopping by everytime I'm in the city.
We were there for an early lunch, place is nice, clean, interesting menu, nice service and the food is very good.
It’s a small place, maybe not good for a big group, mostly 4 tops. I had breakfast corn dogs, tasty, and a sandwich, all good. One of our group had french toast, and wasn’t hungry the rest of the day. I recommend you try it.
Wow! We had a group of 5 of us, all from out of town. There were some picky eaters in the group, so I was a little worried. But chose Bywater because their menu looked very creative. The cocktails we started off with were spot on. We got bread service, the agnolotti, and an off menu pesto tagliatelle. All were very tasty, but the pesto tagliatelle was spectacular! We had a variety of entrees, my favorite being the duck breast. Everything we tasted was cooked well and seasoned perfectly. Finished off the meal with the warm apple rice pudding and Nutella hazelnut flan, and I can safely say it was the best flan I’ve ever had! Service was perfect as well! Thanks for the great meal.
Drinks were great! Food was ok. I had the swordfish and it was too salty. The salt drown out all of the other flavors. My partner had the duck. He said it was good and not over-salted. Desserts were ok - for me the flavor combinations didn’t work. I’d go back here for drinks, but not to eat.
My husband and I went for our 4th wedding anniversary and it was the PERFECT spot for that! The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was incredible from our waiter to the sommelier they had . They had a very unique wine list with wines from countries you don't typically see, and the sommelier came over to talk with us about her recommendations. We would never order a bottle of wine with dinner but given the unique choices they had, we went for it. It was such a cool experience to get to hear from a sommelier as well and made our dinner extra special. The dinner was delicious as was the dessert. Definitely would recommend this spot for celebratory dinners!
Nice open floorplan. Elevated Southern fare without being pretentious. Great service. lovely cocktail and wine list.
Incredible service including suggestions for other favorite locals spots. Visited again from Colorado after going here last year. Food and cocktails as yummy as ever. Top drawer!
What a treat! I brought an out of town friend to celebrate his 30th birthday, and though he visits often, he doesn’t usually leave his tourist radius. To start, we had a last minute addition to our reservation that then cancelled on us as we arrived. The team at the door handled the changes quickly, and with no fuss. Our server, Ashley, was just fantastic, as was the delightful Rosie Jean. They were both very attentive and helpful with the couple of menu questions we had post-cocktails. The wine list and menu are both incredibly approachable, yet still refined and interesting. The food itself:superb, and everything to be expected from an all-star culinary team.
If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere away from the tourist driven French Quarter, CBD, etc., this is your spot. Full of art and the ambiance I have come to expect in Bywater establishments, I hope to spend many more nights as a patron here.
I would recommend for the strokes of kitchen brilliance (silky house made pasta, beautiful cheese selection) and interesting wine list but not for the consistency in service maturity. Bar staff was very capable of discussing wine choices while our main server was out of his depth. Food service to the table was a separate role, and this time her manner switched between plucky and prickly. I’d think twice about a return visit.
Excellent service, we had the jerk chicken rice, pasta pomodoro, the potato and angnolotti pasta, the baby gem salad, rabbit curry and red snapper..each dish was delicious..can't wait to go back!
Amazing! On all levels
