   My wife and I went to Cafe Juanita for the fir at time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was recommended to us by many of our friends, so we had high expectations. We both had the tasting menu (omnivore and pescatarian). Overall, the experience was good, but not worth the price tag. At $250/person without wine, we expect Michelin star restaurant caliber food. Food was good and service was good, but not spectacular. I would rate it far lower than other Michelin 1 star restaurants that we have been to.

   The service was great. Our server was very attentive and stopped by to see how we were doing every course. I went with the vegetarian tasting menu and I was very underwhelmed. All the dishes were too rich for my taste and most of them had an overpowering rich white creamy sauce that I think took away from the other ingredients. I have been here a few times before COVID and have never been this disappointed. I don’t see myself rushing back here as long as they continue to only offer tasting menus.

   Wow! They hit it out if the ballpark. Food and service were excellent. We chose the omnivore menu with lamb chops but our friend enjoyed the vegetable option quite well. Loved all if the flavors and all of the courses were inventive and well prepared. My only comments are that the broth for the soup was too salty. Our dinner companion received a double lamb chop; I only received one.

   With the exception of the halibut, which was good, all other items in the set menu were underwhelming, as were all courses of my wife’s vegetarian menu. Our first experience in Aug ‘21 was very good. So, we were very disappointed this time around.

   Start to finish…perfection. One of my favorite restaurants to celebrate anything from a birthday or anniversary; even just a Tuesday if it feels right. Excellent on all levels and we look forward to our return!

    Dining at Cafe Juanita on April 30, 2022, was perfect in every respect: the tasting menus were inventive and delicious, the presentation of all of the food was artistic and balanced, as well as refelcting a commitment to sustainablity and local organics, the inviting ambiance was impeccable, the wine selection superb and the wait staff attentive, yet, unobtrusive. Cafe Juanita, with chef-owner, Holly Smith, at the helm for decades, has continued to be a paragon for the finest Northern Italian cuisine.

    Cafe Juanita easily accommodated my food allergies by making substitutions from other parts of the menu. They then changed my wine pairing to suit my dish rather than simply sticking with the usual wine pairing for that course.

    Service and ambience was very high end. They added little touches here and there to make the experience elevated. However the food was definitely lacking. My husband and I tried 1 omnivore menu and 1 vegetarian. With those two menus and 4 drinks (2 cocktails, 1 wine, and 1 N/A) our total was over $500. The food was okay but lacking cohesiveness in flavor and execution. Presentation was nice but we were overall not impressed considering the price point.

    This was easily the best meal we’ve had in 10 years. Both my wife and I are vegan, and the vegan tasting menu was stupendous. Just seriously good food, and I’d argue the best in Seattle (although we have yet to try Canlis since they’ve hired a new chef). You will not go away hungry. They could trim a course and we’d still be full. Value-wise it is of course a question mark. We did the optional one pairing, and had a pre dinner drink. This is the first time I’ve spent $600+, with tip, for a dinner for two. That said, if you can swing it, it’s totally worth it. You will not be disappointed.

    As prix fixe menus go in Seattle, Cafe Juanita is at the top for us. My wife and I had the spring 2022 prix fixe menu. It did not disappoint. Service was excellent. And the ambiance is quite nice. Nice sized tasting portions. Bread course was nice and fresh. Small add-on courses were nice touches. Highlights for me were the first course (seafood misto) and the lamb. Wife loved the burrata and the halibut course. Overall would recommend. Also business casual dress wear is preferred. If you wear ripped jeans and a t-shirt they will put you in the back dining area (as they should).

    Wonderful dining experience. Fine food, exceptional wine and unmatched service. All the details are thoughtful, the dining room lighting and acoustics are so comfortable without feeling precious. Always makes for a special evening. Exceeds in all categories!

    Wonderful as always. We had a table in front of the fireplace which was lovely. We added the wine package to the meal which was great. Service was perfect. Expensive but with it.

    The ambience was great and I could see it a perfect spot for special occasions. But I’m personally not a big fan of the food or the service here. Don’t get me wrong - everyone was meticulously polite and no mistakes were made. But that’s the point - there’s no personal touch. It was very professional but distant (and even maybe indifferent). I think there are so many better places in town that offer a more intimate enjoyable experience in town. We wouldn’t come back.

    Purpose: business/team-planning dinner. Reservations: Found a decent time slot via open table. We received a call confirming our reservation; staff also walked thru vaccine verification expectations. Also checked on our party's tasting menu preferences over this call. Logistics: Used valet parking (nice and courteous service). At the front desk, beyond the coat check and id/vaccine verification, there was no wait whatsoever. We were seated right away on time. Food & Dining experience: Well.... if I have to pick one word, the food, service, ambience and whole experience - outstanding. Food is phenomenal. Not only the depth of each dish but the ingredients are varied and best of quality (i know i know... one would expect that from high-end restaurants. But not every high-end restaurant holds that bar for quality of ingredients). Staff is incredibly knowledgable and attentive. Our waiter Nick was attentive and conversational but all within pleasant boundaries. We loved the service. We tried omnivore and vegetarian tasting menus. My carnivore friend was in heaven thru out the meal. I was somewhat skeptical (going in) about vegetarian menu. But my inner skeptic was shut down very quickly. The vegetarian dishes were equally superb and creative. Much respect to chef and the rest of the kitchen staff. Ending the meal: After finishing all the amazing courses, and a palette cleanser (wanted more that just for the zing), we moved on to dessert. We went with panacotta. Which was a perfect ending to the whole experience. Our car was pulled up front at the door (thanks to our waiter for organizing that). And when we left, we were already making plans for our next visit. Cafe Juanita has enough street cred when it comes to "fine" dining. But, in my experience, there was a sense of authenticity through out every aspect of guest experience. No pomp just graceful, authentic and phenomenal dining.

    Amazing dining experience from the moment we walked through the door. Amazing waitstaff that are knowledgeable and friendly. This was a fantastic first trip with a perfectly curated tasting menu with delectable wine pairings.
