Caminetto Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria
Great food and atmosphere
great place to go to on NYE because there's a perfect area upstairs to go watch the fireworks. Definitely recommend on NYE
What we thought would be a special menu for Christmas lunch turned out to be just a regular menu. Also the music was very loud and not seasonal music, just the radio. The veal dishes were very tasty and desert as well.
Busy place with good seating outdoors and the food is good. The staff are a bit stretched but we had a lovely dinner on a warm evening sitting outdoors.
The wine was terrible and they would not exchange it for a better bottle. Service was ok. Location ok
They were out of two “specials” at 7pm. Food quality was very poor and touristy. Restaurant is lovely. Service slow and inattentive.
Saltimbocca NEVER has tomato sauce. Meat Dishes don’t come when pasta. Only vegetables.
If you’re looking for authentic style Italian AVOID this tourist trap
The service was very poor. The restaurant seemed incredibly disorganized. The food quality was barely ok. It took forever to get the check. It seemed they wanted to keep the tables full to act as an advertisement for their less than great establishment.
New Years Eve and they took in our group of 11, even though they had stopped taking bookings themselves they still honoured our Opentable reservation. Food was great and although super busy the staff were friendly and service was not slow.
I had the pollo saltimbocca but the Chicken was dry. The other meals were ok though
Really good food and great service. The ambience was good too. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend this restaurant.
Staff were attentive and pleasant even though it was Vivid and the restaurant was full.
Fast service and fresh and tasty food.
We ate there two nights in a row and we happy both times.
An incredibly average restaurant, food was ok, scenery was nice, service was a bit subpar, music was nice. Didn't have a bad night, but was certainly nothing to remember
Food was basic and disappointing. Risotto was very stale
Although they accepted reservations they were not actually open. We showed up to a closed restaurant.
The food is very tasty and the menu is well-rounded. The pizza bread (garlic) is a crowd pleaser.
On y est allés 2 x en 5 jours. On a senti que nous n’étions pas dans un attrape touriste , belles soirées réconfortante.
Food was great! But I was a bit disappointed by the fact that the website was listing a specific meal that was not available "anymore" according to the waitress... this was the main reason I choose this restaurant amongs others around...but overall was OK.
The toilets were locked before we had paid or left the restaurant. Others diners were still there when we left. My guest had to use the toilets in another establishment at the end of the road.
Food/Wine is expensive, and not great quality. I always remember it being more ..... everything. Just catering for cruise ship tourists these days ... shame really
If I could give less than I would! What a terrible place to dine! Do not recommend!!
When we arrived we had to flag down a waiter - no one greeted us. The manager did not have a table ready for us we had to be seated. Within 2 min they were rushing us to make an order. When the entree was brought out it was dropped on our table then the person couldn't leave fast enough. We had to flag down a waiter to bring us plates, cutlery and napkins. Menu had a poor selection (and limited) of Italian cuisine!! When we ordered our food it was not read back and confirmed by the waiter. When our bottle of wine was brought to the table, no one showed us the bottle to confirm that it was the one we ordered. We were not offered to taste it first and the bottle wasn't even opened!! They just plonked the bottle down with two glasses (didn't even pour the wine). We ordered Polo alla Campagnola - chicken wasnt really cooked well and pasta had been left sitting out before hand so was rubbery and chewy (definitely not freshly cooked). We also ordered the Saltimbocca alla Romana - veal was pretty tough! Our entree plates were not even cleared nor did we receive fresh cutlery for our mains. It was a very clumsy situation when the waiter tried to place down our main meals when we had entree plates sitting in front of us. No one came over to ask if everything was ok with our mains. Waiters didn't really seem to care or talk to us. Dirty plates were left on our table for more than 15 min after we had finished before being cleared. When we paid they didn't ask if everything was ok. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!! Awful service, mediocre food and overpriced for what it is! I want a full refund!!
Tuesday night, had a booking for 7pm -- turned up 10 minutes early to check the place out and get a table, went out the back to see several tables dirty all packed from leftovers and when asked where we wanted to be seated we needed to wait a longer time for the tables to be cleaned from lunch time.
Eventually got seated just after 7, sat down and were given water but not asked for anything. Another older couple had sat down at least 10 minutes later and were served before us. No acknowledgement from any staff, after 20 minutes of sitting down and regretting the choice of restaurant, I asked someone who had brought the food out and they didn't speak a word of English, only one person was taking orders and he was still talking to the older couple who had just been given their meals and we still hadn't been asked for a drink let a lone food.
We then left and walked out after sitting there for almost 30 minutes.
Will never recommend anyone here.
Service was the only thing that let this restaurant down...as we waited an hour for our mains after waiting 40 mins for our entree previously all we witnessed was the what seemed like backpacker staff who couldnt speak english well getting hassled by the manager every 10 minutes about god knows what who just seemed to walk around and around the resteraunt to look busy but didnt actually get in there and help.
We actually saw people who arrived & ordered after us get their food first so i had to ask where our food was to get it, but thankgod the food was delicious!
Nice restaurant with great atmosphere (although can get a bit loud) and nice backyard between the building and the rocks. Restaurant is good although not outstanding, but the location makes it 'something different'.
Great for large groupes (we were a group of 14 and service did not fail)
Food was good, however the service was shocking. Upon arrival, I had to walk around to find a waiter to be seated. We were sat in a corner next to the storage room, with no heater within 15 meters of us (on a 6 degree night). No one took our order for (not even drinks) for 25 minutes. Waited for our food, and ate. Asked for the bill twice, before going to search for someone to pay. Almost paid for meals that somehow made it onto our bill. Would not recommend.
Very disappointing. Requested inside table but not available at booked time. Not enough staff to cope with full restaurant. We got our own cutlery from waiters island bench. We could have left without paying and no-one would have even noticed. Absolutely shocking lack of service. Have walked past this restaurant for years and it is always busy so thought we would try it. Never again.
Cramped dining, below average service, and mediocre food.
