What Insiders Are Saying
Casa Enrique is home to the best Mexican food in New York City, and we bet you've never heard of it. Time to get acquainted with Long Island City.
Amazing food! Great service. Best guacamole in the universe.
Very nice, a little pricey
Everything was delicious! We took a little bit of a risk taking our seven month old to an early dinner. Everyone was very accommodating and welcoming.
Excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent service, cool but casual ambiance, and a convenient location in LIC. My only negative about Casa Enrique is how loud it can get on busy nights. Seats are close and I can often hear other tables' conversation more clearly than I can the people at my own table.
Frontera Grille comes to mind as a comparison. Excellent cuisine and service.
Taco was mediocre. Guacamole and Chicken main dish was good.
Disappointed...I was really hoping to like this restaurant since I'm a LIC local and I pass by it every day. Authentic, but overpriced. Small portions, but that's to be expected of a Michelin restaurant. The food was not better than other restaurants I have been to. Rosa Mexicano has better guacamole and serves larger portions. Menudo was fairly sparse, just tripe...no hominy or potatoes, and barely anything for garnish. Asked to be seated near the window, but seated in the hallway, although there was a table available at the front. Hallway carries all the noise, so probably one of the worst places to be seated if you want to have a conversation. It is probably one of the better Mexican restaurants in LIC, but you'll find the Burrito food truck on 48th ave and Vernon is a better deal and as tasty too.
Excellent food- lamb shank, mole enchilada, soft shell crab and oysters. Both sauces were perfectly spiced and velvety smooth. Drinks also quite good- watermelon margarita was great with spiced salt. Prices are certainly moderate for a Michelin-starred restaurant. Horrific acoustics; can’t hear waitstaff. Took 25 minutes from being seated to have drinks served and was done with drinks before small plates arrived a dozen or so minutes later. Everybody appeared to be working hard and were super friendly and competent, so it looks like perhaps a staffing issue. Also, the internet crashed and that prevented credit cards from being processed, which may have led to frustration and slowed down service.
Mole to die for. Friendly service. Too noisy in back section/low ceiling.
It’s an exceptional restaurant.
Delicious food, wonderful service. Will come back again.
Superb food, excellent quality of service. Great value for money.
Danny Meyer's got nothing on Chef Cosme..the level of service is extremely elevated and attentive here. It matches the level of the food. Holy Crap, I found my new favorite restaurant in all of NYC!
Third time back at Casa Enrique and wasn’t disappointed. Only have 4 stars on the service because it took awhile to get food and drinks, but our waiter was excellent as usual. Can’t wait to return!
Delectable Mexican cuisine. Somewhere I would definitely experiment, as everything is high quality with sophisticated flavor. Best items are: cow tongue tacos, pablito pepper in cream and Mexican cheese, carne asada, crab tostadas.
This as an amazing experience for us, we loved the food, the service and the Horchata fresh water! We definitely recommend this place!
Casa Enrique deserves its Michelin stars. Everything is fantastic. I wish it were a little quieter, and I also wish that I didn't have to make special occasion reservations 4 weeks in advance. I have never had a meal there that was less than extraordinary.
Real flavors with a touch of je ne sais pas quoi that leaves your mind wondering what was that final wonderful flavor.
NO CLUE why this place has a Michelin star. Food is not remarkable anad portions are muy pequeno and expensive PLUS, they had one poor waitress handling all of the tables in one room which is just outrageous. Place was packed and I don't know how they think that one busboy and one waitress can give anyone the attention required. Chairs were some of the most uncomfortable we've ever sat in. Don't see a return trip in my future. :-(
Attentive service coupled with delicious food! The mole is excellent! Always has interesting drink specials.
Amazing food. Prefer dinner over brunch, but that's just because the carne asada is to die for. Will be back for sure!
Amazing food and good service + really good cocktail!
Restaurant is worth the Michelin grade it gets year after year. Its a combination of simple but extremely well executed dishes and cocktails. The service was excellent as well, our waiter was very knowledgeable as well. I will be definitely be coming back for sure.
Delicious & creative dishes! Well done.
Over priced Mexican food; the “cravings” and cow tongue taco were delicious but the three entrees we tried we’re underwhelming.
The food is very good and authentic Mexican and the
Watermelon margarita it was super.
The mole is to die for.
Awesome all around
FANTASTIC food and service -- but pretty loud -- like a bar -- could not hear our friends or server. Love it -- would go back. I felt like I was finally back in MEX.
Dia de las madres
Everything that arrived at the table was sublime. The dishes may have been familiar to a fan of Mexican food, but the ingredients and preparation took old friends to an utterly different level.
Food was fabulous, service wonderful and staff extremely accommodating for our special birthday celebration.
Another incredible dinner. Food is always 5 stars and we always have a wonderful time. 10/10
Excellent service, absolutely superb food, wonderful ambiance! We love Casa Enrique!
I come here at least once a month. The sopecitos with chorizo are an amazing appetizer and the mole enchiladas are to die for. If you're looking for something non-alcoholic, the Tamarind beverage is amazing. Overall this is the place to be at in Long Island City and the number 1 Mexican restaurant in all 5 boroughs!
Casa Enrique was on my radar for some time but never made it out. After our most recent trip to Playa del Carmen where we only ate at local places and away from tourist traps, we were craving authentic Mexican food and we are so happy we went! Everything looked so good on the menu and after our first dish, we knew we would be back 4 more times to try it all. Everything was great! It is a bit loud which we didn't notice until the end but just a warning if you want a quieter dining experience.
The food was excellent, but the service was definitely lacking. It did not feel like Michelin star restaurant. We felt very rushed by the servers and they kept taking our clean napkins away. The drink orders took too long to arrive.
Great service and ALWAYS outstanding food, the team is focused on making everybody enjoy the experience
