Venue was gated and closed and no one answered when I called MULTIPLE TIMES. I don’t understand how you can make a reservation for a restaurant that is not open. Terrible because I believed I had a reservation for a nice dinner in the city and was shocked to see it gated up when we arrived. This left me stranded in the city scrambling for a place to eat.
the restaurant has been closed for several months
How come open table didn"t know about it but accepting reservations?
very dissapointed in ceci restaurant and open table.

Restaurant CLOSED although my reservation accepted kn your system. Ridiculous!!!
Thank you for taking the time to inform us of this system error with our shift hours. However, we are happy to inform you that we are still open and look forward to serving you in the future!
It was closed and is now a homeless persons hang out. Was very annoyed and disappointed!
Thank you for taking the time to address the system error with our shift hours. We are open and look forward to serving you in the future!
The garlic bread was spot on. My salad was fresh and wonderfully presented. The vodka rigatoni and carbonara dishes were lovely, and perfectly portioned.
Outdoor dining on a busy Manhattan street with a neighboring restaurant blaring their music was not as nice as eating indoors. But with Covid protocols, it was the only option. I have been eating sat Ceci for over 15 years, it is my favorite restaurant in NYC. The food and service were as good as always and I will be back everytime I go to NYC.
We go to Ceci when we want something low key and casual. We had dinner last night, the first night Broadway was shut down as a result of the coronavirus so there were about 5 or 6 tables. One of my pet peeves is when dinner entrees are delivered to the table when we’re still eating salad/appetizers. This happened last night. The waiter was also not attentive whatsoever. He was more interested in his down time and sitting at the bar. I’m going to rethink going here in the future.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us and I'm sorry about the what happened, I have spoken with the server and we are taking care of the issues
This restaurant was definitely a find for us. The food was delicious with good sized portions. They also had many substitutes for those that are gluten and dairy free, which was great.
The staff was attentive and very nice. This is a go to for us now, even if we aren't going to a show at Radio City.
Thank you very much for your kind words, it a pleasure to be serving you and being able to accommodate yours and your guests needs. Looking forward to serve again
We go to N.Y. and always head to this small Italian restaurant before a show. We are never disappointed. The chicken parmigiana and chicken involtini were both delicious. Service was good and we were done with dinner with more than enough time to get to the show. We will definitely be back next time we visit NYC.
Went to Ceci post-theatre - we were pleasantly surprised. Good wine list, generous portions. Within walking distance to Gershwin. Attentive service.
Excellent place to go if you have celiac disease. They had a tremendous number of gluten free options. All of the food was very good. I had the pork osso bic I and risotto-excellent!
It was a very nice , atmosphere was comforting and our waiter was pleasant.
I don't understand why they would charge refills of soda.
We have been here 4 times after meeting friends in NYC for a musical. Never disappointed, the food is great, service is good and atmosphere also good! Will definitely go back again!
We came here as it was recommended for its Gluten Free menu. I agree, we cane here twice during our trip to New York and I too recommend it. Great staff too and reasonable prices.
My wife and I decided to move to New York while at Cici's. The food and service was that BEYOND!!!! We fell in love with New York on this night and have continued to love it for the last three years. We had to move from NY because we are bartenders. 2020 changed too many things but Cici's remained consistent. The food and service will not be matched. Please dine here for your visit. You won't be disappointed. This is a local business with exceptional food and better service. Cici's carries a special place in our hearts and I hope you have the same experience. Just walk in and say hello. They'll take care of everything else.
Good location for play go-ers, Times Square visitors. Pre-fixe a little pricey but good food and selection
Went in with a party of 12 (booked ahead of time) after a matinee on a Saturday and everything was wonderful - the food, the service, the attention to our table and the price as well.
The dining experience did not live up to the website hype or photos of the cuisine. My expectations were not met and I would not recommend this to a serious Italian cuisine lover!!!!
Great food, presentation, portion size and atmosphere! Only thing I would change is why they have an AC blowing from the back wall in February. Moved our table due to cold draft. Otherwise, was a great dinner!
Bad, bad food. Bland, tasteless and not authentic. Spent my night on the toilet. Poor service and unmotivated staff. Worst experience in NYC.
What a delightful find! I'm a vegan who also has a gluten allergy and Ceci's was so accommodating. Lots of menu options to choose from. My husband, who eats a completely opposite diet, thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well. I had great gluten-free spaghetti in a mushroom ragout and he had incredible tuna.
What a wonderful place! The staff is genuinely friendly and attentive. The food is fantastic....almost like eating in Italy! A perfect walking distance after dinner to Broadway shows. Our favorite!!
Been here a few times before theatre and have never been disappointed. The food is outstanding and the staff friendly and welcoming! Definitely going back.
Had a business lunch with a large party. We were seated in the back and it was quiet and private, just the setting we needed. The food was very good, and the service was attentive enough. They did not have many healthy/diet options (e.g. no fruit cup or sorbet lo-cal desert option), but what they did have, they prepared well.
The food was great, it tasted like homemade food instead of restaurant food. The prices are a little over the expensive side; the portions are generous however.
Great find in the theater district thanks to recommendation by Roundabout Theater. Typical small NYC restaurant. Wonderful bartender Yana did double duty as our waitress giving us excellent service everywhere. Best Milanese. Will be back.
Food was ok - but I expected more. We were seated in the basement ("wine cellar") against a wall when the whole room was available when we got there which made it feel so out of touch and like we were shoved aside. It also meant that I believe we were sometimes forgotten about and the meal took way longer than it should have. I go to NYC maybe once a year if that and really thought I chose a restaurant that would have been good and I was extremely disappointed. While the "wine cellar" may be a good spot for a larger group or private party, I don't think it should be for only a few small parties that were seated down there because they obviously were full on the main floor.
I have celiac and finding a gluten free restaurant in midtown is like finding a needle in a hay stack. So when I found out that Ceci had gluten free choices, I was so excited!! The wait staff was very accommodating to my needs and made sure my meal was prepared for separately, so there was no cross contamination. I would recommend this place and come back again for sure!!
Great Italian food and a nice wine selection. Are in the wine cellar, which was cozy but a bit on the loud side.
The food was delicious!
Good food and service. Would recommend to families or those looking for a casual bite out.
Food I thought was just above average, but service was terrible. Overall, was ok, but I wouldn’t go out if my way to go back.
Had a Pre-Theater dinner here. Sat a a 2 person table and our waitress was very attentive in spite of being quite busy. Enjoyed a Manhattan Martini followed by a glass of red wine with my Pollo Parmigiana. Was 10 minutes walking to the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
Very good food, my daughter would recommend the steak.
I thought the reviews were a bit high considering the food. It was just ok. My brother and I each got the pork osso bucco, which the waiter said was the best thing on the menu. The gravy and risotto were each pretty bland and what flavor there was, was just ok. My daughter got gnocchi which was a bit pastey, although the sauce was pretty good. The calamari appetizer was pretty good. Nobody in our six-member party was particularly thrilled. The waiter was fine; we had no complaint about the noise etc.
Mala atención en la entrada, la pizza muy mala, en general no buena comida ni atencion
We took a trip to NYC with our granddaughters and wanted to eat at some local restaurants! Ceci’s was fabulous. Despite some confusion with our reservation that may have been my fault we were seated early and had a fabulous meal!
The food was fabulous, service excellent and the atmosphere warm and inviting! My husband said his sea bass was the best he’s ever had and everyone else enjoyed their meal!
Great restaurant find and would definitely go back!
Our food was good and quick to the table. It’s a small place so it felt a little cramped but still with the visit.
Made reservation for my son and his fiancée who were in NY for the weekend. They thought that the restaurant was excellent in particular the gluten-free ravioli. Thank you for the terrific service.
Great food but had to wait 15 mins to get a table despite a reservation. Toilets not really clean...
