Cento Uno is us (Ciao!). A husband and wife team, surrounded by a top bunch of people. Our concept is simple – contemporary dining, rooted in the flavours and recipes of time-honoured traditions. It’s food inspired by fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, paired with an arty selection of craft beers, an eclectic selection of wines and more.Come in and see us sometime. Delicious food. Good service. Not an extensive menu (available on the web), but a good selection.
Amazing food and service!
Lovely place to eat in the Surbiton.
Good choice on the pasta and pizza menu and the waiting staff were very good.
Very good but enjoyed service more at lunchtime
Still very good
Very disappointing first visit after such high hopes after dining next door at 97 with same friends and which we could not praise more highly.
Melon Parma ham starter was poor especially as I was looking forward to lovely slices of chilled sweet melon draped in fine slices of salty ham. Melon slices were thin, tiny and unripe I actually had to ask for more.
Pizzas were soggy in the middle. People on only other table had same experience. I had been prewar Ed if this by friends who had visited previously so I opted for the hake and fregola. The fish was cooked perfectly but the fregola was extremely peppery. We did not complain as it was a special reunion with friends we had not seen for a while.
However, I do believe the problems can be sorted and that is why I have said I would recommend CENTO UNO in the hope this happens.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience - great food and lovely staff
Delicious food. Lovely staff. A very enjoyable evening!
Excellent as usual quality of food is as ever superb and wine list v good
The best pizza outside Italy. Really delicious! The staff are charming. I loved the busy atmosphere but it is really noisy. I think all the hard surfaces amplifies the noise levels. However, super place!
Newly opened yet appreciating previous clientele, this restaurant has modified the restaurant in a sympathetic manner whilst retaining the ambience. Great ingredients making our pizzas really tasty. Friendly efficient staff and reasonably priced food and wine. Difficult to book so ensure you do so well in advance. Thank you - we had a great eve and will be back as soon as we can get another booking!
Limited menu choice to the point that not one starter I wanted ,seats jammed on top of each other. One pizza inedible too salty and returned/refunded.
All in all very average.
Really great pizza - best in the area
Lovely staff who cate about the customer experience
Great addition to the local flock
Great food, great atmosphere, great service! Definitely going to be a regular visitor.
As usual excellent
Standard of food is always high and a great wine list
Plus a couple of new Italian beers worth tasting
Great service too
Lovely restaurant, our first visit. Staff very good, beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and good atmosphere. Food was average unfortunately. A bit bland I'm afraid, which was such shame. We were expecting more flavour from the pizza's and it just wasn't there. However, we will be returning. Thank you.
As usual an awesome meal
Pizza was perfect staff excellent and the Hale was superb
Fantastic food, great service and lovely atmosphere. will be coming back for sure!
Delicious food!! Great service!! Just up the portion of linguini on the Pescatori please 😘😘
Great ambiance..we were served promptly our starter was very good..our waiter was very friendly and brought our wine and food very quickly..would definitely recommend..a lovely evening and we will be visiting the restaurant again.
Great menu. Really nice ingredients and a thoughtful menu. Staff are friendly and relaxed. Excellent value for money
The combined noise from the dining are and the krestaurant tchen can be rather loud. It’s difficult to have a conversation.
The food was mostly good, the pizza wasn’t anything special. Rather chewy and under seasoned.
Focaccia we had for a starter was raw! But the staff was kind to take it off our bill.
We would try it again for a dinner but we would not have pizza.
This is the second time we have been
The first that’s lunch there and that was fantastic so wanted to see if the level was a s good a second time and it was
Pizza is probably best round here and very Italian
Wine list good too and some interesting starters
Definitely a great place to go
Good to see an old friend reinvented. Whole prawns with the seafood pasta very welcome.
The food was really quite outstanding and the decor and ambience were on par with No97 et al. The service however was not good, though staff were polite they were very slow, missed things in our order and then double up on things. Hopefully just early days teething problems but was a downer on an otherwise fantastic meal.
Fantastic place! Food was exceptional and the atmosphere is perfect. Another wonderful addition to Maple Road. Highly recommend.
Great to see this place reopen. Menu quite limited and not sure about the ‘hazy’ house wine. Service good, quick and efficient. Will return
Well, erm, mmm. Tricky one as this restaurant has only just opened and it replaced an old favourite.
Great re-furb from old and traditional into what's now a nice-looking clean, modern place. However, there's lots of clean, modern surfaces and, combined with loads of little Sonos speakers, it's far too LOUD. Turn down the music (and make it less pop!).
Food was ok, not great, with the vitello tonatto being overly thick slices of meat with way too little tuna sauce and a key ingredient of one pizza not being available - not great with a short menu - but, in fairness, the maitre'd took the cost of that pizza off our bill. Give the post-dinner coffee a wide berth - I'm a bit of a coffee snob but this was one of the worst I've ever tasted, Seriously bad coffee. The post-dinner grappa was, however, very welcome and served to mitigate the burnt bitterness of that seriously bad coffee.
Overall the pizzas were better than those of Cento Uno's predecessor, but they haven't replaced like-for-like, this isn't a traditional, comforting, friendly neighbourhood Italian place anymore (duly "shaken up with a modern style" as it's billed to be) - it's a place for posh/hipster pizzas and a few other "Italian" dishes albeit at affordable prices.
We'll see how it beds in, as it'd be great to have a neighbourhood Italian place back as there's not a decent Italian place nearby - although there's a cracking one a £5 Uber ride away - but for the meanwhile Cento Uno misses the mark. It's simply trying way too hard to be "modern" and there's a reason that "traditional" often works.
I've been waiting for this Restaurant to open for a while having lived in the area for the last 17 years - I was always a Mediocre fan of Da Lucios which felt a bit tired towards the end. I can tell you my first visit did not disappoint. Both the starter (Arancini) and the main (we tried most of the Pizzas on the lunch menu) were sublime if not filling ! The kids loved the Pizza based desert also and the Coffees were hot and tasty. Secondly the service was extremely friendly without being overbearing. My only gripe was the furniture. The current tables (which I understand are temporary) felt a little cheap and awkward plus it was very difficult to seat yourself in the corner restaurant setting. However none of this distracted from the overall experience and I look forward to my next visit!
New restaurant still finding their feet, but a cracking effort having been open for two weeks. Service slow at time, but incredibly friendly. I suspect this will be smoother once they get to grip with dish cooking/service times. Reasonably priced. A decent meal for two including cocktails, wine and liqueurs was £100 including service. Book early whilst you can! This will become popular very quickly.
Really great place. Lovely decor & really friendly staff.
Food was fab. The pizza was really tasty, and the dough was really nice and light. My only thing to say would be that the pizza base could be a few millimeters thinner, but that's just my preference.
Will defo be back soon!!
Lovely atmosphere and ambiance. Great food and a relaxed approach.
We have been waiting for this place to open since Christmas and so our first visit was eagerly awaited.....
Table was a little difficult to sit at as there was not much room to get in due to the config of the table for 4 and the new furniture is unfortunately a bit uncomfortable.
Starters were enjoyed by all......Mains also though the pizza menu is pretty out there (sliced potato on pizza !)
Wine is unfortunately very expensive (cheapest £23) for what is fairly average quality......
Will come back if the menu changes up regularly and would say overall experience is good without the wow factor....
The pizza was delicious, really good and like someone else has said very much like at pizza pilgrims, very happy to have this on the doorstep! Lovely staff and atmosphere and felt like #97 in style and friendliness. Wishing the team every success, such a nice group of people who deserve to do well!
Great food and lovely ambience. The pizza was excellent and the service was great.
I’m so pleased that Sam and Alex decided to go Italian - it’s a fantastic place and was fantastic food and service - real authentic
Really nice! We had a pasta dish each and various starters. The food was excellent as was the Gin!
Has just opened and I do love No. 97 but not having oli and vinegar as condiments to Antipasti is not good. And presenting burnt food is not acceptable - and telling us that’s normal is also not acceptable.
We did not have pizza so I would maybe be persuaded to try that
Another winning restaurant from Sam and the team, delicious food, great service.
