Food, service and ambiance were all excellent as always... looking forward to our next visit!!
Lovely setting, excellent food and service. We were comfortable and well cared for on a special holiday visit. Always a reliable spot for any occasion.
Have dinner in a historic inn from a bygone time when the Dutch settled the land and a fledgling country was forming. The food, service, and ambience are appealing and reasonably priced. Bring a romantic date or schedule a special outing, it it well worth it. Kudos to the chef on the prime rib and scallops.
The Century House never disappoints! The food is always amazing and the ambiance is so cozy and inviting. Service is friendly and welcoming. Doesn't get much better than this. My go to happy relax and enjoy place!
Thanks Jennifer !
Was a wonderful evening. Service and food exceptional, as always.
Wonderful. I love it at the century house.
We love you back !
My daughter ordered a rare steak and it was medium and had to be sent back. Took at least 20 minutes for a new RARE steak to appear, and by then we were all done and she packed it up and took it home. The wedge salad was disgustingly covered with melted blue cheese. The baked potatoes were gross and disgusting with sour cream and bacon. We were never asked about a potato. I hate baked potatoes and the subject never came up. Granted our company ordered soup and salads and drank some wine, but we had no dessert, I had one decaf, no cordials or brandy and the bill was $286. You won't be seeing me again.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit, we can't find a John C in our reservations on the 24th or we would have called you as soon as we saw this, as you can see by the reviews the experience you recalled is not our norm and certainly not what we strive for. We thank you for taking the time to review and as we do with all comments use them to train our team my apologies that we did not address your concerns while you were still in the building. Thank you
Jen and the entire staff do a stellar job as always. Prime Rib and Lobster tails were superb. Jack and Rich Kowalski
Thanks Jack !
After years of going there for our anniversary each year and missing our 40th there due to covid was hoping the 41st would be amazing but after all the years of going there it was our last😪 service was not good, food was not good was very disappointed. During a time when people are starting to come back you really need to make it something you'd want to come back to!!!!!
Hi Muriel We are so sorry to hear this our host will be in touch with you shortly. 41 years of marriage deserves an amazing experience we are so sad to hear you did not enjoy your yearly visit.
The staff , the atmosphere , our server and the food were absolutely amazing .
Food was fantastic, not crowded in the least, Doug our server was top-notch and it “wasn’t his first rodeo”... just an overall great experience! Will definitely be going back
We had a great time. They had live music for St Patrick’s Day and everything was great; food, friendliness of waitstaff, ambiance. This may just be our new tradition!
Perfect for a special occasion, elegant atmosphere -- even for grownups who have been there and other elegant places over the years. They still pull out all the stops to make a dinner more than a dinner. It was memorable, not because we ate out during the pandemic but because we ate at the Century House.
the food was great, the barmaid did an amazing job of creating a chocolate mint martini, on the fly, Doug, the waiter was super friendly and prompt. Unfortunately, the draft beer pump was broken and my boyfriend had to settle for a "canned" beer. St Patrick's Day WITHOUT a draft Guinness????? Hopefully from now on there will be a back-up system ready to go.
Thanks Joanie - draft replacements are in the works, 100 year old buildings are a bit tricky nothing easy but we should be up and running very soon with drafts once again. Cheers
Top notch through and through
The location is perfect, the food is delicious and the staff is attentive and very kind and helpful! 5 Stars from us!
Jennifer and our wait staff make it such an enjoyable experience.
Enjoy our Sunday dinners. Food, service and wonderful hostess, Jennifer.
just what I needed , a quiet wonderful meal in such a great room with ambiance on a chilly Sunday evening. Very attentive staff to make my experience special. I really appreciated the covid practices they put in place.
Our restaurant of choice during Covid. Food is always outstanding. Usually have the upside down Onion soup and prime rib but they were out of Prime Rib, (first time) so I had the Seafood FraDiavlo and was blown away! May be my new go to dish! Wife had the Scallops which are always perfect. Also spacing is way beyond the 6ft needed and everything os very safe. Staff is awesome
food very salty , very slow over one hour to get food
It was our 50th Anniversary and I had reserved a table for 2. My daughter and son led us to believe they would see us during the day, which my daughter did but my son said he could not see us until Sunday. We said ok we understand. Then when we walked in and the hostess took us to the back and everybody was there we were so surprised and happy to have our family and grandchildren there with us. The room was decorated beautiful with balloons and tea lights. The waiter and waitress were wonderful and accommodating, the food was excellent we could not have asked for a better evening. I would recommend the Century House to anyone. It is safe with air purifiers, hand sanitizers and utensils wrapped up. Thank you to everyone involved.
Food service great prices were for quality/quantity
I deviate from the Prime Rib every couple of times I visit and it is always a mistake. It is good, but not as good. The Prime Rib is consistently to die for. Have been coming infrequently for years and am never disappointed.
This is now officially my favorite restaurant. 5 💫 all around. Had Surf & Turf. Lobster was tender, moist & flavorful. Prime Rib was cooked to perfection. Can't wait to try it again.
Food was delicious and hot - Morgan, our waiter, made our experience amazing
Food and service is always excellent!! Ambiance wonderful, very cozy and dimly lit. Personal preference would be dressing on the side next time on the wedge, but loved the choice of a smaller version. The fra diavolo was very spicy and flavorful. I love spicy food and this didn't disappoint. They always provide a complimentary chocolate mousse dessert for the person celebrating theirbirthday.
As always the valentines night dinner was excellent as in every year we dine there. One of our favorite spots to dine.
Everything and Everyone is passionately focused on your dining experience at Century House. Being our 1st time at this establishment we were both delighted and amazed ... with everything. They want everything perfect for you. And it truly was. And will be many, many more times to come!
I would highly recommend the Century House to everyone! This was by far the best meal I've had in a while. Everyone was friendly, the atmosphere was very romantic for Valentines Day, and the food was TO DIE FOR! Will definitely be back!
Love this place. Was married here a year ago today and decided to go back for an anniversary dinner this past weekend. Very COVID friendly, ambiance was wonderful (we sat next to the fireplace so we were extra cozy) and they even included a small bottle of champagne for our anniversary. Food was excellent per usual. Highly recommended.
Although the Century House has been in business for decades, and has always had a reputation as a very good restaurant, we hadn't been here in several years. We're very glad we chose to go back; the food was outstanding, the staff was good, and the ambience was nice.
We overall really enjoyed our dinners there. We stayed the weekend at the hotel and went two nights in a row. Jennifer, the Hostess, was extremely accommodating and friendly. While we originally wanted to sit in the main dining room where the fireplace was lit, there was a lot of conversational buzz and we were happy to be in one of the smaller, quieter rooms. We ordered the calamari starter, which was some of the best we’ve ever had. I ordered the surf and turf. The lobster tail was perfect. The prime rib was a perfect medium rare and seasoned so well. My husband ordered the scallops with risotto. He was extremely happy with the quality and execution of the scallops. Between the prime rib and risotto, we had enough left over for lunch the next day. We also took the peanut butter parfait and chocolate mouse back to our room and they were delicious. The second night we ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and the shrimp fra diovolo. Both were delicious. The only slight disappointment was the bread served was not warm and the butter was cold rather than room temp. We would definitely recommend take Century House.
We sat next to the fireplace, beautiful! Salads, veggies were fresh, shrimp cocktails were tasty and the sauce had a nice bite. Prime rib was the best I've ever had. Lobster was tender and sweet, seafood Fra Diabolo was delicious and the sauce had a kick. Wine glasses were abundant, and Steve (our server), was attentive and thorough. A delightful way to celebrate Valentine's day ❤️
Stefon our waiter was excellent. Jen the manager always does a stellar job. We had the prime rib surf n turf. Delicious.
good food. good service. quite, spacing good. been her before
Service , food, ambiance was Excellent. We make Friday night our special night to go out, and the Century House restaurant is perfect for us. Never disappointed.
They go above and beyond to offer a safe place to have a great dinner. The server told us about the steps the restaurant takes to minimize anyone's exposure to Covid. My friend and I never felt uncomfortable . The food is always delicious, my lobster was wonderful.
It was wonderful to be able to go out for a nice meal and feel safe at the same time.
