Join us for the return of Sunday afternoons spent on San Francisco's sexiest rooftop bar, Charmaine’s. We are thrilled to offer Paella & Rosé day! Indulge in a Mediterranean inspired Sunday afternoon beginning at 11 am! We will offer paella cooked over fire by our Chefs to pair with rosé from our versatile list until 2:30 pm. Admission is $30 (excluding tax and fees) per person and will include unlimited Paella. All seatings will be limited to a 2-hour duration and for groups of 8 or more, we cannot guarantee seating together. Please note that your $30 purchase does not include Rosé. The only reason I didn't rate the everything outstanding is because my partner and I had been talking about how excited we were to have a bloody Mary with our brunch...pretty standard brunch fare. It was really disappointing to be told that the bar was unable to make bloody Mary's. For the price point, the location, and given that there was a completely full bar, it didn't make sense as to why there were no bloody Mary's available. Especially because it was brunch, and the drink is no more complex than any other on the menu. Obviously, this was not a grave issue, but given what we were paying and that it was brunch, I expect to be able to order a standard drink at a Proper Hotel venue.

The rooftop experience is fantastic but.....the Paella brunch fell short. A DJ was advertised and not only was there no DJ but the music vibes were less than interesting. The Paella is decent but certainly not worth the $30 price tag without the ambiance. My suggestion is skip the event style visit and just enjoy the view.

Overall, Charmaine’s is a great place to visit. Sundays reservation was great. We enjoyed unlimited paella and rosé. It was a beautiful afternoon in the city. A lot of light, some music, and a great atmosphere. Service was ok and could have been better. It was small details; and as a work group whose profession is heavy in customer service, these flaws could have made the ultimate experience. We didn’t have forks. We didn’t have ice buckets for our wine. When we asked for forks, it was sarcastic comments from one of the servers. Other staff, such as the bartender, door staff, the chef, and our main server was professional, warm and welcoming. I’ll be back. Charmaine’s is a beautiful place with a nice vibe.

Went for AYCE Paella on Sunday. I should've warned my friends that this is in the tenderloin bc they were shocked having to walk through it, and I had to hold my breath when walking them back to their vehicles. Although we had reservations for 11:00 (when they open) and arrived early, we still waited in line behind people that did not have reservations because there was nothing indicating that those with reservations should skip the line and go directly to the host 🙃 It happened to be a warm sunny day - there was only one outside table in the shade, and it was already occupied. So, bring your hats and sunglasses and sunscreen unless you're able to get one of the indoor tables! The seafood paella was delicious! The veggie paella was good too! BUT, every time I went for the seafood one, I ended up with a plate full of rice and chicken. And just cauliflower from the veggie one (there's also artichoke, asparagus, carrots, zucchini, squash)! This wasn't the case for the other 3 folks in my group - they'd get like 8 shrimp, 7 clams and mussels, and a few pieces of chicken, minimal rice and a variety of veggies. I was served 5 times and it became a joke with our party that I was a magnet for rice and chicken. On my last trip to the food, I asked if I could have more of the shrimp and seafood as opposed to rice and chicken "because I'm here for the seafood, please!" and I got 3 shrimp and 4 mussels and clams 😊 The wait staff was extremely attentive - constantly filling our waters (we were HOT) and clearing plates. Would I do this again? Meh, maybe. Am I glad I tried it? Yes.

Went for a surprise engagement party and Charmaines was absolutely hospitable. While they couldn't guarantee which seats would be available, they responded to my email and I felt certain they would do everything they could to make the reservations perfect. When we got there they ushered us in right away, and the seating they provided with the fire pit was exactly what we had wanted! 10 out of 10 on the delivery of a special night and excellent service. Will always return.

The experience was great but misadvertised and the price was a little steep for what they offered after saying the ride isn’t included in the “rose & paella” event lol didn’t think what we got was worth $80 for the two of us on top of paying for drinks.

Went for their Paella & Rosé event for Sunday brunch. Was totally under the impression that it included unlimited Paella and at least 1 free glass of Rosé (enough for it to be called Paella & Rosé). Location isn’t ideal —was warned by so many people (locals included) that they don’t advise walking around this area. Parking is a ridiculous $9 per 20min with the hotel and had to park at a nearby garage instead (for the comfort and safety of not having my car broken into). Paella was good for the most part —however a little too seafood-y for my partner though, and even the veggie version tasted that way. Service was mediocre, the man who was serving the paella wasn’t very friendly. I don’t think he smiled once 🥲

Great Shakshuka but we were right under a speaker and music was loud so I could barely hear my sister. We asked to move and we’re seated away from speaker until a manager chased us out saying it was reserved. We finished up our drink and table stayed vacant until we left. My sister was mobile challenged and he could’ve let us stay for 15 minutes. I wouldn’t complain if I didn’t see her struggle.

This place has a beautiful view which drew us to it. But upon seated we were next to a fire pit that was turned up too high and we asked our server to turn it down. She said she will get someone but no one ever came to turn it down. The flames were so close to my girlfriend and I and if we moved back we were in the aisle way if customers and staff. Our server only checked on us twice. My girlfriend ordered wine which came quickly but I ordered a cocktail that took between 10-15 minutes. Our server never came back to ask us if we wanted food or more drinks. We had to flag her down to get the check and leave. Overall, this place is overrated and is in a bad part of town. I definitely wouldn’t be going back.

Charmaine’s is a beautiful space and a fun environment, great views. The service is excellent and the experience overall is great. The menu is a little limited and it was $100 person, fairly pricey for one cocktail each and fish tacos.

Went for the bottomless paella and the overall experience was average. The paella was good, great ambiance, great views, but the service is extremely slow and alcohol is over priced.

The location is in tenderloin which is very dangerous and full of drugged and homeless people, so it’s quite scary at the entrance, but then once you get upstairs it’s very nice the view is great, cocktails okay food and services so and so!

I was quite skeptical about this place after seeing mixed reviews on Resy, particularly about the service. I was pleasantly surprised to have a wonderful time . Our waiter was nice to us and the drinks and food were pretty good too. Overall, it had a nice vibe and a total chill out roof top! I’d definitely go again.

Fabulous experience, we celebrated my daughter’s 25th birthday and had an amazing time. From the server recommending new places to sit as they became available, bringing us blankets and providing outstanding service during the 3 hours we stayed- highly recommend!
