It was our anniversary, it was the perfect place for a special occasion dinner. Our server Dustin was helpful and attentive. We had a great time.

This is our third visit to Chars and first while at Tracy Mansion. Lovely ad always good food and ambiance. We always love the art and sculptures, My husband did have to send back his vegetables because they were cooked in butter after telling our waitress he was vegan. No biggie they exchanged them super fast no problem! Will definitely come back again.

An amazing building! The interior is fabulous, the menu extensive, Lori the server was great. The owner actually comes around and chats with you, which is great.

Overall great. However Portions could be bigger and pricing commensurate with the food and drinks.

We have been dining at Char’s for 2 decades now, and they continue to deliver every time. Best cocktails in Harrisburg. Beautiful ambiance. Excellent food and service.

Dinner was absolutely divine as were the carefully crafted beverages from the bar. If you are looking to celebrate something special (anniversary, birthday, etc.) or just want a lovely dinner, this is the place to go. Highly recommend this restaurant !

Another solid dinner with good service and beautiful ambiance.

Maybe one of the best dining experiences from start to finish. We were out for Valentines Day and yes less crowded due to Covid-19 but still exceeded expectations. And Annie our waitress was phenomenal. Friendly, helpful, brought our drinks and said she was going to let us enjoy a few sips before returning for our dinner order. We never felt rushed in any way. The food was cooked perfectly and it was very tasty. We are about 2 hours away, we stayed overnight, but will certainly find our way back.

We were a little disappointed in the pear/romaine salad. Previous method of preparing this salad was far better. The pear was lost in the chopped salad and dressing. Otherwise the meal met the high standards of Char’s restaurant.

Valentine’s Day

Excellent experience. Full restaurant and everything was going well. Very happy with menu, presentation and quality of dishes. Laurie (sp?) added to our enjoyment.

Great evening with friends celebrating wife’s birthday. Only thing that ruined the night was her ungrateful attitude. Food made it worth my misery.

Excellent Service. Had the veal special and was simply the best veal I've had. Thick as a steak and fell right off bone.

Char's is our go to place in Harrisburg. The Valentines dinner was perfect.

The food was a real disappointment. Very underwhelming. Our server didn't list the specials for the day but eventually remembered when she sat another couple at the table next to us. Its priced for a nice romantic dinner but I've had much better food at chains. On top of that the music was never ending soft jazz tracks like you hear in an elevator. Will not be wasting my money or time here again.

Looked great online and the place didn't disappoint when we got there. Unfortunately we had a very small table in the middle of the room under the suana lights. When asked to lower the lights they obliged to the appreciation of others who were dining.
The apps were good but the entrees were fair at best and came out luke warm. The specialty cocktails were a major disappointment as well. When I asked the manager to lower the lights a tad more, she was very crass with us and said NO I will not do that.
It was at this point I knew it was time to go and cut our loses. The server was great, but unfortunately the rest was a major disappointment. Definitely not worth the money we spent.

Everything is always perfect. Innovative cocktails, wonderful menu with superb food. And the service is always spot on. Best that Harrisburg has to offer.
