Chido and Padre's
It appears that my review from this morning was deleted. That's a shame. We went there last night and were seated outside. We sat for 30 minutes and NO ONE came by to bring water or even say hello. We were amazed and just kept watching out watches and timing it. Two waiters walked by for another table and NO ONE ever asked if we wanted anything. Instead of leaving, we went inside hoping that would be better. We even explained to the manager why we moved. After 5 minutes someone came by and apologized and said he was "on it". We ordered drinks and got them 10 minutes later. There were only three other tables active at the time so I figured they could handle it. Then when the salsa was out, it was going to be refilled. 15 minutes later we had to ask a different server about it. It NEVER got better. Manager never apologized. An hour meal took over 2 hours. Food was fair. Service is unacceptable in a food town like Atlanta. Actually, we discussed it and it seemed like the restaurant was struggling to stay open. We will see if they are in a few weeks/m months.
First visit. Had heard very good things. Air conditioning was broken so that made it hot. Our server was very nice but drink service was very very slow. Had to ask a couple of times for delivery. But food was good.
Love the patio
We were celebrating two birthdays the night we went. Our reservation was at 6:45 with 2 senior parents, 2 adults, and 2 children. The noise level was quite high- almost impossible to hear each other at the table. It was happy hour, which had we known, we would have come a bit later. However, that was the only negative about the place. The food was outstanding, the appetizers were discounted (Happy Hour) and delicious, and the service was attentive and personable. They even brought us a dessert to celebrate. I highly recommend this spot for a fun family dinner or a festive night with friends. Not a place for quiet conversation. Fun, Energetic, and delicious. We'll definitely go back.
Best Mexican food in ATL.
I was extremely disappointed in the service at Chido and Padre's. It was my graduation celebration dinner and we got one of the worst tables in the spot. The servers were incompetent and rude, and the food wasn't anything to brag about. I will never come back here again.
Honestly this was the BEST dining experience I have had in months. Everything was just top shelf. I needed to change my baby and they allowed me to go into a private room and set a table for me. Service was 10/10 and everyone was extremely friendly and checked in on us several times.
I am Going to try to come back weekly. The menu was excellent and easy to decide on. Thanks for a standout experience!
This restaurant is close to my home and my kids like it. Service had been absolutely terrible the previous two times I’ve gone but it’s a five minute walk from my home so we gave it another chance. As I walked in, I saw the manager and told her to please make sure service is decent. She nodded her head and the waiter came almost immediately. We ordered for our children and they wanted milk with their meals. The milk brought out was SPOILED. My 3 year old and 6 year old drank curdled, disgusting milk. I showed the manager and all she did was say sorry. That’s it? I’m appalled at this place. Why do they even have spoiled milk in the kitchen? I don’t trust this restaurant and can’t chance my children (or anyone else’s children) to get sick. Absolutely HORRIBLE.
I loved the atmosphere and food. Great chips and salsa plus steak tacos made for a nice evening dinner
Great Palomas and outstanding service!
We didn't have a good experience. It took 20 minutes for a waiter/waitress to come over and greet us after we sat down. The restaurant smelled bad. I have a cilantro allergy and asked for it to be removed from my dish but it came covered with it. Unfortunately we had to let the manager know how bad it was. He was nice enough to comp our meal, but we'll never go back again.
Friendly, prompt service on a busy Mother’s Day. Good margaritas, salsa and fresh guacamole.
Everything, overall, was good. You can yell they’ve never done a Mother’s Day Brunch thing before, but the managed the best they could. There looked like there wasn’t enough staff cause tables were waiting a long time. Ours included. We waited almost 20 min before someone came over and said hello to us. We saw the waiter come out the kitchen with to-go ices for the table next to us....looked like he had to do them himself? He was so out of breath and exhausted when he came to our table. For it being mother’s day and noon, what I ordered, French toast, was told to me AFTER I ordered it wasn’t available and I had to pick something else. I got huevos ranchero. Good, ok really....not great. Got fish tacos...they were really good. And also the Benedict....it was missing potatoes and although we asked, they were never brought out it explained why they weren’t there. The drinks were good. Service was really slow and rather annoying. Although the guy was really nice, and the manager (I think) cane over to chat, it was so slow. Too loud in there also. I could hear everyone’s conversations and had to yell at the waiter for him to hear us. Understand it was a “holiday” so things were crazy. But, they had a mother’s Day special online and should have been more prepared. Overall, it was good. But they should fix things before....let’s say, Fathers day?
This is a great Mexican restaurant and Sasha helped us a lot in choosing non spicy food (which was not an easy task). I believe it has a great variety of Mexican food and for all “spicy” tastes. The service was very good and the price was fair. We will probably come back!
We dined here for the first time this weekend and were very impressed with the level of service we received from Sasha. He really took the time to make sure we were pleased with our drinks (did great in recommending tequila shots for novices!) Food was really well prepared and fresh. Will for sure be back!
This was our first time and I highly recommend. The bartender was great- interesting drink menu options very well executed. Lots of tequila choices and 2 bars. We sat on the beautiful patio for dinner with a wonderful waiter. Everything we ate was very well prepared, presented and so flavorful. We had perfect chips, salsa, quac, chicken flautas, brisket tacos and my favorite the grilled shrimp skewers with zucchini. Loved everything about this place and will be back soon!
Came to C&P for my birthday. I put in the reservation that I was there for my birthday and that we would have our dog. They gave us a patio seat, but right in the path where people were walking, so it was not the best for our dog to keep moving. I had been dreaming of the Blood Orange Paloma and they were out :( Salsa took awhile to receive. Food was pretty good, but pricey. They didn’t say anything about my birthday, so a little disappointing. The patio is great, but other than that, nothing spectacular.
Great food, beautiful decor, and good happy hour options. Our server was ok- nothing extraordinary.
We were here for dinner during Cinco de Mayo. We were disappointed in the menu. It was very limited. The food was not very good. The cheese dip was very thin. On a holiday where you are getting lots of new customers who possibly haven’t tried your restaurant before, You want to make a good impression with the food and menu so they will come back again. This is an opportunity to gain repeat business but the food really wasn’t good and the margaritas weren’t great either. We will not be back. There are other Mexican restaurants that are better.
Our drinks, queso, and guac were great. It was cinco de mayo, so a little busy, but otherwise the service was good. The tacos are small, and remind me of bartaco but not quite as good. The baja fish was crispy and flavorful but the pork belly was a little tough and chewy. The ambiance is fun and energetic, I would go back and try something else.
Fun Cinco de Mayo dinner with our kids. The new kids menu is a hit!
Best service, amazing house margaritas, tacos are outstanding!
Bar staff did not know how to make a lemon drop martini and the margarita ordered was average at best. I spoke with the server and he had the drinks remade by a different bartender and those were very good. Our server was overly attentive.
The restaurant was so noisy and loud I could not hear our waiter or anyone at the table. Our waiter was all but non-existent and forgot things I ordered or requested multiple times. My sister and I ordered the chicken tacos and they were bland, mushy chicken thigh meat, had no flavor and came with 3 pieces of cilantro on them, no onions, tomato, lettuce or anything. They were so bland and wet we couldn't eat them. I will never go back.
The food was really quite good! I got the shrimp enchiladas and the sauce as delicious. My husband got the beef brisket tacos and he really enjoyed them too! The cocktails we fantastic and the beer menu was decent as well. My only complaint was that our server got our initial drink order and brought us chips and salsa and after bringing us our drinks completely disappeared. After about 20-30 minutes we finally had to flag someone else down to take our order. We’ll likely go back though!
Lack of seasoning. Slow service.
The waiter was awful took forever on everything.
Food was mediocre and service was less then expected, we were berated for asking for a pen a from our waiter 🙄
Taco Bell is fresher! Had to wait for our food and there was hardly any people there
Great food and service. Fun atmosphere.
Party arrived 730p. Received nice welcome and seated. Service was poor. Guy was new and very courteous but slow. Kitchen was out of all things chicken and pork belly. Was not a good 1st visit.
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! Great service!! Loved my server! Gave me a birthday night to remember! The manager was super welcoming and I never felt rushed to leave! So coming here again soon!
Always great service, delicious food and refreshing cocktails when I come here. 😍
Chido and Padre is a great meeting place for friends and family. Parking is a bit of a challenge, and I decided to use the lot for the building next door, when all of the shops were closed. Not sure if this is OK, but it was the only option.
GUACAMOLE DE LA CASA with lime, onion, and cilantro. The guacamole was chunky but a little bland. There was a smidgen of onions (which I prefer) but it would have benefited from a little more lime. I give it a 6. The tortilla chips were great.
CHICKEN with smoked chicken tinga, guajilla salsa, onion, cilantro. The chicken taco was overflowing with filling. The flavors were very good and one of the better options. I give it a 7
CHIDO BAJA FISH includes battered fresh fish of the day, topped with veracruz aioli, red cabbage escabeche. The taco had great balance with the creaminess of the aioli and the pickled cabbage. I give this a 9.
PORK BELLY offers arbol chili glaze, cilantro, onion, queso fresco. The single slice had great texture and flavor and the onion added pungency plus a kick of heat from the arbol chili glaze. I give this an 8
SMOKED BEEF BRISKET brings rajas, avocado crema, and topped with crispy onion straws
Much too many things going on, I liked the texture of the brisket, but was overwhelmed with sweetness, and all of a sudden, a piece of bark. I give the brisket taco a 5.
Service was excellent. Our server was pleasant friendly and checked in often.
Overall, it is a good taco place in Buckhead. Is it in the caliber of some on Buford Highway? Not many are, but for a great place to meet and enjoy some pretty good food, C&P does the trick.
Service was not good. Food took a long time.
The food is incredible - creative Mexican and I’ve enjoyed everything I got. Happy hour specials are great too. I love sitting on the patio, and when it’s chilly they provide blankets. The service is so friendly, especially to our kids. Even though it’s a 20 min drive for us, it’s becoming one of our go-to restaurants.
Friendly service and delicious food! Would recommend the pork belly tacos and the guacamole :)
Garlic does not always make food taste better
I would recommend Chido and Padre's...however, I had some major issues the night we dined there.
I will preface this with
1. I was very tired and we didn't get there til 9PM
2. It was the Saturday night before St. Patrick's Day.
That said, I found the restaurant particularly noisy--to the point it was uncomfortable for me.
The food was good, but I didn't find there was a huge selection. I was hoping to get either quesadillas or fajitas, and I was surprised that neither were on the menu. What I did get though were the fish tacos and they were yummy. Perhaps on a "normal" night I would have enjoyed my experience more, but for my first visit, I found it just "ok".
Heather does a great job
