   We had booked a table indoors at 9 and when we arrived they told us we had to wait 25 minutes to be seated.. no apologies, no explanations, this is definitely not ok when you make a reservation. Eventually, they found an outside table for us, which was ok. The food is not amazing (I lived in Peru and know their cuisine very well) but the ambience is great. On a positive note, our waiter was super nice and attentive!!

   We had the tasting menu and it was very tasty, and actually too much of food. It was for our wedding anniversary and I stated that in my reservation. They did not acknowledge that and we ended in the nosier section of the restaurant which was a bit disappointment.

    Inspired menu! We enjoyed the traditional sui mai (off the Dim sum menu), quinoa salad lettuce cups, and Aji de Gallina (chicken stew), but the Suspiro Limena dessert stole the show. With the custard, meringue, and fresh passionfruit, it was the perfect blend of sweet and tart flavor and silky and crunchy texture. Truly not to be missed!

    The food is very good - a combination of Japanese, Chinese and Peruvian. We got the pricier tasting menu - and the quantity, portions and number of courses was insanely huge huge. There are too many items with rice, noodles and lacking balance of lighter items, vegetables, seafood although ceviche options were a standout. Would have been nice to even give a card of items in tasting menu and number of courses The food kept coming we asked how much more was coming and no one could tell us The tasting menu at Zentenya, their sister restaurant, is awesome as an alternative and we've had multiple times. The place is fun and lively but very loud also.

    I realize that restaurants can't always accommodate special needs like my hearing problem but I requested the quietest table possible when making my reservation and even though we spoke with a manager they were only willing to seat us at a table near the reception desk which was incredibly noisy. ( they wouldn't give us a table in a section that wasn't serviced or a four-top to accommodate me). Other reviewers have commented on how noisy the entire restaurant is too so if you have a problem hearing or just want to have quiet conversation, I suggest going elsewhere. Waiter seemed to ignore us when we just ordered apps to make our visit short and we had trouble getting water glasses refilled. Food may be really good but we won't be back.

    I have to notch down the overall score because of the FOH services. Our wait staff was splendid - very knowledgeable and attentive. Host area however was a complete zoo. Our table was given to another party that arrived after us. It was chaotic to witness and experience.

    The ceviche is amazing here, and so is the sashimi...but it literally looks like they took one piece of fish and sliced it thinly 5 times for the dish. The metal chairs are uncomfortable and we could barely hear our waiter. I ordered a martini and he brought me something entirely different. Drinks are overpriced, have had better pisco sours elsewhere. There is no explanation of what any of the ingredients or drinks are and since you can barely hear it's not even worth asking. The hot pot with pork ribs dish

    It was a good evening. Food excellent and server provided good advice on how large servings are/how much to order. Dim Sum excellent. Stunned that they didn’t have sparkling water as an option to pitchers from the faucet — or we could have had Club Soda (ew) — or any non-alcoholic beer, wine or cocktails, or espresso/cappuccino!

    Went there after a matinee at Ford’s. First time visit for all 9 of us in the party. Our server Chris talked us through the menu and everyone LOVED what they ordered. Will definitely go back

    The waiter has such an edge on him that he really took away from our dining experience. As we all know it’s always about what you order that will dictate your food rating. I’ve eaten here many times before and enjoyed my meals but this trip was not as good. I had family in and wanted to treat them to one of my favorites but we were all disappointed. The food was tasteless.

    I had not been to China Chilcano in two years. It did not disappoint in terms of food, service, wine list and value. The waiter made excellent suggestions (pork sandwiches are to die for) in fact I could have just eaten all starters! Sitting outside was really nice. Maitre d' Mateo mentioned how good the Margaritas were across the street at Oyamel (salt foam instead of salt rimmed glass) so we went there too...absolutely true. I am on a mission to support all World Food Kitchen Restaurants for their outstanding work in Ukraine - it won't be difficult with such great food and service.

    Our first time eating at China Chilcano. The choice of dishes were so interesting and tasty. The staff was very attentive. Loved this Jose Andres restaurant. Will go back to try different foods.

    Reservations only! But the place was half empty. I was able to a reservation 30-45 mins later. And sat at the same empty table no one used. If it wasn’t for my lady I wouldn’t even bother try this place. Great servers great cocktails

    Food was amazing, as always. Sake was good, but supply was limited—the first bottle I asked for was not available. Service was excellent-very attentive. I was annoyed to have little children close by me, but that’s not your fault at all. :)

    Waitstaff was friendly and helpful, but not necessarily super well informed. The food was great, drinks were delicious and creative, and we witnessed at least one interaction where the management was actually helpful and reassuring to the staff after a mistake, which was nice. Ambiance is great -- the overhead "neon" lights in the shape of Atacama geoglyphs alone are worth the visit -- but at the high end of the noise level that is comfortable for conversation. My chair was a little weird, but not uncomfortable.
