   We went to enjoy some Peruvian and chifa inspired food and weren’t disappointed. We arrived a bit earlier than our booking slot so we went for some pisco sours and chilcanos at the bar, which were amazingly good. Food was right on point: some dumplings for starters with a very fresh and delicious Peruvian ceviche, and the sauces were superb, specially the peanuts and tamarinds paste; we enjoyed the lomo saltado , a true star dish on flavors and textures, the papas a la huancaina was our less favorite, underwhelming and perhaps -for our taste- undercooked potatoes. The service was courteous, prompt and constant… well deserved tips for the crew! We will certainly return !

   The food is absolutely amazing. Everything we ate was delicious and creative. The servers asked multiple times about allergies and preferences and then suggested things we might like. The restaurant was overbooked so we waited for our table for about 30 min. There really isn’t anywhere to stand so we waited in the vestibule which was chilly. Other than that, it was incredible.

   It took the restaurant more than half hour past our reservation time to seat us. However, they comp'ed the drink at the bar, sent a couple of appetizers on the house and took some off the bill. All this was unexpected and very much appreciated. Food is delicious and highly recommended

   Out of town friends were visiting. One had lived in Peru for a while and was eager to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. I appreciated that the noise level was very low at our window table for 3.

   I took a friend from Georgia to China Chilcano for his first visit. He isn't very adventuresome, but loved the Peruvia Chicken as well as the Pisco Sour. We also had dim sun which is as good as always.

   Food was outstanding. Love the variety and ability to try several items. Had one cocktail which was really enjoyable. Service was mixed. Food delivery was well-paced and allowed me to enjoy food. Staff were quick to clear plates I had finished with. Biggest issue was beverages; water was not refilled very quickly and after I finished a cocktail (during first of 3 small plates) I was never asked about another order. By the time the waiter came by and filled my water I was on the third dish and didn’t ask… Overall, I would come here again. I think my experience was based on being alone and less of a priority…so might be less inclined to do that again. Coming with others would allow me to try tasting menu too.

   The food was delicious- the traditional cocktails were also wonderful. Our server was very curt and seemed annoyed. However, all of the other staff were friendly and interested. It may have been an off night for her. We recommend!

    My family was in the city for a weekend outing and we were able to get a table and enjoy really attentive service and a fantastic selection of Asian and Peruvian items. Our second visit in the past four weeks. My wife & kids love everything about this unique Jose Andres offering.

    Good food, waiter was nice attentive without pestering, but one star off for the aggressive bussing. Snatching plates away as your fork takes the last bit, even worse standing there waiting for you to do so is just obnoxious

    One of my favorite spots and perfect for small groups. Terrific choices to satisfy both vegetarian and non-veg folks. Enjoyed the restaurant week menu and looking forward to trying the lunar new year menu next week. Friendly and timely service.

    Finally tried this popular place during restaurant week. Lively atmosphere with friendly bar staff while I waited for my friend to join. We were promptly seated when ready and served water. The waiter was able to explain details of the menu options, but was rude and impatient with our questions. The four-course menu week menu provided fantastic options. I started with the fried dumplings, then had a raw salmon plate. Both were great. The flavorful sauces were the best I've had. The salmon was extremely high quality. I ended with the popular chicken stew and banana dessert. The chicken (thigh) stew was delicious and more than I could eat. Items were served with many of the ingredients separated, which I liked. Then I'd mix them together for the perfect combination of flavorful bites! The next time I go back (and I will) I will choose a salmon/tuna option. Everything was fresh and beautifully served! Jose' Andres has done it again!

    Whatever was happening in the area created a huge backup...there were probably close to 20 people in front of hostess stand - all of us with reservations and most parties waiting at least 30 minutes past our reserved time slots. Fortunately the staff did everything they could and were very courteous under enormous pressure. A free drink would have been nice. When we were finally seated, our waiter was great - a sweetie and the team was very fast with the food! And food, as usual, was excellent.

    The service was excellent: friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good. I thought the ají de gallina and ceviche clasico were excellent, the tam tam pretty good and and the sánguche de chancho were just so-so. I was a little disappointed with the signature Chilcano cocktail, which I think needed more lime and more ginger-y flavor. Maybe next time I'll add some ginger Macerado.

    This has been my favorite spot since it opened with its amazing happy hour menu. I know Dc as a whole has moved away from that. But this place still has some amazing flavors to their food. You have to try one of their amazing deserts it will make you want to come back and try them all.

    We came here for the first time to try food from my country Peru. We decided to make it a dinner to celebrate my friends birthday. We were seated near the window, which was nice, but we didn’t feel that we could see the rest of the restaurant where we were seated, we noticed closer to the bathrooms was a larger room with more Crowd and activity going on which to us was more appealing. Our waitress/server was pretty good for the most part, but her personality came off very dry, and unfriendly to what we are not use to, especially for our first time visit here at Chino Chilcano. One of our first questions was if we ever visited this restaurant so it surprised me her overall service and manner wit us. When our food arrived, another waiter brought our food, but made a mistake with the wrong plate. Towards the end of the restaurant hours, a huge crowd of servers/waiters decided to stand by us and talk like there was no guests around or like if they were in the back/private part of the restaurant. I think part of their conversation was talking about their issues at the restaurant. We thought it was very unprofessional to do that, and on top of that, the lights were turned off in the room we were seated. When we finally paid and left the table, we noticed walking towards the bathroom that that whole section /seating room near bathroom was still lit up, and no one was rushing them. We hope this doesn’t happen again, and on top of that, I expected (with the note, I added to this app) to have a complimentary dessert for my friend for her *birthday* which was not given to her . For my first visit, I was a little disappointed, but the food and drink was delicious.

    China Chilcano is very good, both for the food and the service. It is noisy, however, and expensive for what you get. That said, both my son and I enjoyed the food and the pisco sours.
