    Bao buns were lousy, the bun itself was either undercooked or had been frozen, not up to standard. The dumplings were cold. Other dishes were underwhelming. Staff were fine.

    Nice food, but unfortunately the food took nearly an hour to come out . They did compensate us though by giving us some free appetizers which was thoughtful. Staff very friendly & thoughtful

    This place was a great find after a day at Bondi Beach. We went with a large group and ordered family style to share and everything was delicious!! Highly recommend the crispy pork belly and soup dumplings which were our favorites.

    Arrived at the dumpling special for my wife's birthday and our 2 children. First round of fried and steamed dumplings weren't great but we thought next round would improve. Dumplings were stodgy and torn and overcooked (fried) undercooked (steamed). We waited a further 45 minutes for the second round (which never arrived) and then we were presented with a plate of undercooked (from a follow up order) steamed dumplings you could bounce off the wall. We had one serve and when we said enough is enough we were told they are having issues with the kitchen... We wanted to leave and the waitress offered us the drinks free... I replied, but we haven't eaten yet... One serve wasn't eating, we were then given a further discount but that was ridiculous. A ruined meal, terrible night and had to pay almost $100 for a family of 4 leaving hungry due to kitchen issues. You should have charged us for the drinks and food free. Terrible, won't be back, terrible dumplings, only good thing was the spring rolls. You get better from Woolworths Mr Chens frozen Shumai and xaio long bao...

    I was attracted to the restaurant because the menu had gluten free and gluten free options- great. I ordered the five spice duck pancakes gluten free. It was cheap actually one of the most expensive dishes. So disappointed when it came out with only a small portion of duck that had no flavor and definitely not fresh. The worst thing was that instead of gluten free pancakes ie rice paper rolls it was served with lettuce leaves. So disappointing. If I had ve known I would’ve ordered something else. Everyone’s else’s dishes were nice

    We got the $69 banquet. We didn’t receive $69 of food at all. It was my daughter’s 11 th , we were all disappointed. We spent $669 . I don’t if the kitchen staff have changed, but the first 3 courses were spicy, so my daughter couldn’t eat them. We used to come a lot , Iam so disappointed, Bondi being our local and all

    They took ages to bring the food once finally served the dumplings were cold the flavours were not there worst dumplings I had in Sydney. Then the rice came and it was also cold. The waiters didn’t have a clue about what garnishes to bring with the food and then we had to wait even longer.

    Cons: food serving portions were small. Entrees came out 1 at a time over 20 minutes. White chocolate mud cake (on dessert special menu) did not have mud cake in it. They had chocolate crumbs instead. Pros: all food was yummy (apart from white chocolate mud cake). Best dish was black sesame chicken spring rolls and the caramelized pork. Service was good. Would visit again.

    We found the overall experience disappointing last night. Several people in our party were looking forward to having the calamari but that wasn't available and the squid substitution wasn't gluten free. The service was a bit slow and the table wasn't cleared. There were no gluten free dessert options. We usually enjoy our dinners at China Diner but sadly not on this occasion.

    The food was excellent. Had been a couple of months earlier and had a great experience. Sadly on this occasion the service was pretty poor. Drinks arrived after the first lot of food. We then needed to flag someone to order another drink, and oddly when it came time to pay the staff just left us the machine to sort out. Would recommend based off food but not on service.

    Had a lovely night, my bf and I did the $49pp plant based banquet and it was just perfect. Really enjoyed it. Only thing to note - the fried rice came with eggs for the “plant based”, they without hesitation brought out a fried rice without eggs for me as I am vegetarian. so if you are a strict vegetarian/ vegan do check but otherwise delicious! Highly recommend 😌😌

    We had a lovely Father’s Day yesterday. However My feedback is the wait staff not really paying attention when we need to order more food and drinks. I had to stand up and went to the cash register to met someone to order more food for our table. I’ve seen a few girls who worked yesterday just walk straight up without paying attention to the tables who may needed help/ assistance with the food etc. I had to clear up empty place and moved them to the table next to us to give us more space for another food to come. The wait staff doesn’t really pay attention details such as empty plates/ glasses need to be clear up as soon as they seen them. Not all of them checking our tables. Perhaps they can do more such as look after their customer who spend money not only for the food. We paid for the entire experience including service.

    We went for the $60 banquet and overall we were disappointed with the quality and taste of the meal. The pork starter was good but everything else was disappointing. The chicken main dish was greasy and chewy, the belly belly was ok but nothing special. The service and cocktails were the best part but overall we were disappointed with the quality of the food. I've been before and would recommend going for the mains and starters but not in the banquet.

    The food at China Diner is really good but nothing special, it is very over priced for a low key family meal. The bill was $175 for two adults and one teenager with only one glass of wine included.

    Not a bad experience but overall a bit meh. Food was ok but flavours pretty bland. The restaurant was quiet on a Sunday night- not much vibe and can’t recall if there was music. Perhaps it needed to go up a notch. Also would expect quicker more attentive service on a quiet night. Staff were very nice though but overall a bit underwhelmed.

    Amazing food, slow service (from the kitchen), miscommunication and confusion between the staff, and no take-away available for what’s left on the table (when ordering the $25 all you can eat dumplings) which is such a waste of good food and money.

    The place is nice and the staff is lovely ... We went there for the first time and didn`t know the menu. One minute after we ordered we we sent some food very similar to what we ordered ... We were impressed by how quickly they sent the food however about halfway through our dinner the waitress come and told us that the food first served was for another table and that we didn`t have to worry about it. Eventually, they put it on the bill ad we only realized later. Not a big deal as it was only 30 dollars and the food was good, but don`t say something you won't do.
