    The whole of Tramsheds is a shadow of its former self. Unf there’s no buzz & it lack vibes. So on Sat night, this place was maybe 30% full. Quite sad really.

    We ordered 5 small dishes to share between 2 adults. Great value for money. Food tasted amazing and was more than enough. Service was good. Not complaints from me.

    Liked the ambience in china diner, the lighting and table setting is well done as other places in the tramsheds can make you feel like you’re dining in middle of a shopping centre. Food was tasty , can’t fault flavour but our bill was quite high per person without ordering very much. I think I’d go for the set banquet menu to get better value next time. Wine list is a bit expensive but we did have a lovely Pinot gris. Service was efficient but not a lot of personality . Overall, I would dine again & is good for a group dinner .

    We have been to this restaurant a few times, as the food is always very good and consistent. Our last visit was no different. We selected Dim Sum's (prawn and black fungi wontons and steamed BBQ pork bun), for mains, kung pao chicken, chilli caramel pork belly and fried rice and finished with the vanilla bean fried ice cream. Each item tasted fresh and was delicious. On the service front, they seemed a little short-staffed and hence we had to wait a little for food orders, drinks and our bill. However, would certainly recommend China Diner for its consistently good food and ambience.

    An exceptional dining experience in a lovely environment. My only hesitation on my usual 5-star rating is the music: poor choice and volume, which was pointed out to staff and must be addressed by management. Otherwise, top notch.

    1pm lunch on a sat, not much diners. Slow service, about 30mins when appetizer arrived. Food was good esp the crispy calamari but a bit pricey for the quantity served. Xiao long bao good but thick wrapper. 5spice duck pcakes had generous thick duck slices. pork belly n hanger steak dish were good too.

    The food was wonderful! The $59 banquet was excellent value and staff were very accommodating with those out of our group who wanted the plant-based banquet. We will definitely be returning as the food was absolutely delicious!

    We booked a table on Easter Sunday for a birthday dinner. I appreciate it was a public holiday and expected a surcharge. We had a 730 booking and after we had our mains served we were told if we wanted anything else kitchen was closing. So we ordered dessert whilst still eating mains. 2/3 desserts arrived and the hill was forthcoming before they’d finished. Felt rushed and for the price, it was a substandard experience. If they were so lightly booked I would have preferred they phone me and ask if we would like to attend earlier. All in all a substandard experience.

    We ate for the first time with friends at China Diner for Sunday lunch. We ordered two entrees - won tons and dumplings - and mains of duck pancakes, fried chicken pieces and fried rice. All these dishes were excellent and not just standard Chinese fare but very interesting takes on these classic courses. The fried rice was great and a rare treat rather than the standard of boiled rice. The service was very good except for when it came to paying the bill where one of the female waiters seemed to not want to split the bill nor take cash for payment. Minor irritation but she was memorably rude. The great food forgave this hiccup.
