The Chop Bar Burger is AMAZING and never disappoints. My child who doesn't eat burgers will ONLY eat the Chop Bar burger. It's been far too long and we had a quiet and DELICIOUS meal outdoors. Wait staff super friendly (could have been a little more attentive: I went inside to pay the bill). SO glad CB has fries!!

Cinco de Mayo was fun. Excellent ribs and good pig roast. Our server, Amy, was terrific. My only real criticism was the margaritas which tasted like they were from a mix or something. Not up to the rest of the meal, or the holiday.

Birthday brunch for my son. FIrst time here. Everything was great. Nice table, very nice waitress. Seated promptly at 11 am on a Saturday morning. The Bloody Mary's with bacon were great. My son said they had a beer he loves that he can rarely get. His Moco Loco was great. We all liked our food very much. A breakfast burrito, the french toast and the chicken torta. All delicious. Same with dessert. All just perfect. We decided this will be a go to place for our family because most importantly, we felt comfortable and relaxed. It got busier as the meal progressed but it was still chill. Great place

We stayed in Oakland the night before an early flight the next day. Early dinner (for us) 6:30. Wasn’t busy when we got there, but it filled up before we left. Excellent food. A great place… felt very comfortable like a locals bar, but as it got later became a great vibe for friends and a possible date night. We’ll definitely do this again.

For Oakland restaurant week, my friends and I decided to partake on their Prefixed menu. After ordering all the courses, a last minute party of 20 people sat down on top of an extremely large take out order that was called in. I had to wait an hour after ordering for the first course, which was soup, and then no more dishes ever came to the table. Although we had a reservation, we were ignored by the waitstaff for the impromptu party of 20 or continually lied to about our dish being almost ready every 30 mins. If the waitstaff was more honest, I would have been able to eat dinner somewhere else and still made it to my evening plans. Overall, they didn't charge us for the soup and drinks we received for the 2 hours we were there. Honestly. I've had lots of wonderful experiences in the past at Chop Bar but this visit was by far the worst.

Attentive staff, nice space, but it’s been a minute since I’ve eaten there. I orders small bites (wings and the Mac n Cheese) and wasn’t as good as I remembered it. My drink was really good though, I’d def go back but maybe and try something else on the menu.

My trout was perfect. Liked the risotto. Salad with fried goat cheese was perfect. Drink was nice. They just need to get the music a little louder. It's just me I guess. I like music being part of a bar experience. The old chop bar used to have live performances too.

The food is outstanding but the room and friendly waitstaff make the experience even better. My ex husband and I were at Chop Bar on a quiet weekday evening, left our dog in the car but then in walked a "regular" with her well-behaved Rottweiler...so we learn. Do not miss!

Love Chop Bar, mainly for its burgers, the best that I’ve had in the East Bay. On this latest occasion, the bottom of one side of the bun was soggy, which made it difficult to hold and keep together. Small complaint, though. Still tasted great, just had to resort to a knife&fork. I’ll be be back.

Got the breakfast burrito for brunch and that bacon sss nice and thick. Wish I got fries instead of home fries because their ff are so addictive. Ordered pickles too and it was perfectly made. Well spiced, excellent texture, and not too tart or sweet.

Service was excellent and our wait staff was very professional. I was not too happy with my meal. I had the chuck roast and it was very greasy and lots of fat. The presentation was poor and the vegetables were soggy and overdone buried under the meat. My friend had a burger which was very good. Our appetizer and the desert was very good also.

There were very few waitstaff working hard, but service suffered. E.g. i asked for a high chair for our baby when we were seated, and the host nodded as though he heard me, but then didn't provide one. Nor did the waitress seem to notice that we might want one even though we were sitting there with a baby. Toast came out without butter and i ultimately gave up on getting any after i finally flagged down waitress and asked her for some and none appeared many minutes later. The food overall was good.

Booked a table at Chop Bar for Sunday lunch/brunch and was simply blown away by the deliciousness!!! Other reviews complain that it’s not “brunchy” enough but that depends on your definition of brunch! If you want delicious chilaquiles or Chile verse TO DIE for pork - come to Choo Bar! Yummy guacamole on the side, a mimosa & a latte or mocha with extra chocolate and sugar - we were in HEAVEN! If you want boring brunch Americana stuff and/or to wait in line for ever - you can go anywhere! Delicious easy and great service - Chop Bar was the bomb! Will go again as soon as we can <3
