Dry Aged Steak Burger
comté, pickles, shredded lettuce & straw fries
Food was excellent, a simple menu done well. Very expensive though, so a rare treat.
The ambiance is young and noisy, seating is a little close together.
Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Although the food was delicious, it doesn’t really have an intimate and romantic date night vibe but rather a great place to go as the member of a group or with a friend.
Fantastic steak, lovely friendly staff. We will definitely be back.
Great food and service. Chips are to die for and cocktails were great.
Food was so tasty but it took a long time to arrive. But I understand it was Saturday and could be busy for them. Not the cheapest but it’s worth the money.
Another amazing anniversary spent at Chop House, great service and lovely meat as always!
For the price of the steak, which is what we booked for and sure most people do, I found my ribeye to be tough even though it had been cooked medium as asked. The meat taste wasn’t really great either.
I don’t mean to be overly harsh but I’ve had much better quality steaks that were lower in price and actually come as a full plate of food…
I.e Miller and Carter.
I could not justify eating here again as the product just did not match what you are charging for it.
Staff were friendly and on point.
Sorry to be harsh but your steak just wasn’t amazing and for your price point it should be.
Menu very limited and expensive. Steak was undercooked and don’t bother with the straw fries! No regular salad!! When asked if all ok and said not really we were just dismissed.
Delicious steaks but overpriced. Chunky chips were not crispy and fluffy inside and had a lingering taste of the cooking oil.
We managed to get a late booking on a Monday night and it was great that there were no issues with selecting anything from the menu. The food was all fantastic and was delivered in a timely manner. The overall service was also faultless and we especially appreciated that despite being the last customers in at closing time, we were not rushed at any point
Outstanding food and drink, steaks are the best I've had
Second visit in a week.
Came back because of food and they didn’t disappoint. Quality was consistent, dishes were large and food was fresh and tasty.
On both occasions we came in for early dinner at 5.45pm so place was pleasant and relatively quite.
Highly recommended and will be back.
Lovely steak cooked perfectly
Steak was perfectly cooked and tasted very good, service was good and fast, would be back again.
Very slow service, steak was average and over priced.
This is our 6th time in Edinburgh and we always visit Chop House due to its excellent food and service. We were let down on this occasion, the service was very slow, the food had increased in price yet decreased in quality. We ordered both the sirloin and rump steaks, the sirloin was very tasty yet extremely chewy and the rump was tender but watery and tasteless. Our bill eventually came to over £120 and we only ordered steaks, 2 sides, 1 cocktail and a bottle of wine. It was a very overpriced bill for a pretty suboptimal experience. However, we would visit again in future because the past 5 experiences have been some of the best we’ve had for date night!
Excellent steak cooked perfectly. Would def go again.
Great service and good food, top floor is rather loud, so try sitting outside or at ground level.
Amazing steak, fantastic service. Staff couldn’t help enough!
Delicious food - a bit upmarket so expensive and minimal food on the plate. Staff friendly and good vibes.
We picked this venue for our wedding breakfast and we’re not disappointed. It felt like we had the place to ourselves, as we were sat in the mezzanine level. Staff were excellent, food superb and I would definitely come back again. Highly recommended.
Far too noisy. Noise makes noise. I think this is probably the overriding memory You ask if you are celebrating then don’t do anything to acknowledge that !,
Had such a lovely afternoon at market street chop house yesterday. We went for our anniversary. Never been before and we were really impressed as we are hard to please 😂.
Service from the minute we walked in the door to leaving was excellent. Food fantastic and can’t wait to go back.
Seems to have gone down hill since re-opening, which I understand. Went for Sunday lunch but it was not available - despite advertised online. Steak was good - but not medium rare as requested.
Great food and nice wine and cocktails. They did get my beer order wrong and fairly pricey. But altogether an excellent experience.
Really great atmosphere, amazing food Great selection of cocktails.
Food is fantastic with the exception of the chicken wings. Steak is what Chop House does best and it really is one of the best in Edinburgh. Our steak was cooked perfectly and the staff were excellent.
Me and the mrs fancied a nice meal and we had our 6 month boy with us and they were so lovely and the food and drinks were fantastic! We will definitely come back!
The fillet steak was absolutely incredible . Service was excellent ….hoping to return soon:)
Food and drinks fantastic. A few bumps with the service with wrong dishes being brought but generally good.
We lucked out and got the Wednesday Porterhouse special! Both orders cooked to perfection, the sides were amazing too… special nod to the mac n cheese!
Will be back 100%
Lovely restaurant with lovely service. The food did take 40 minutes but we were pre warned about this and it was worth the wait. Perfect steak but could’ve been more chips for the price.
Phenomenal food and service. Excellent aged meat. Perfect
Wonderful food, drinks and service. Would definitely recommend visiting here. Everything was great!
Food, beer and wine all very tasty - steak was on the rare side but the guys there were quick to rectify would be happy to go back.
Great food. Bit of a wait for our table but overall a lovely evening
Lovely meal and a great setting definitely recommend
Everything was absolutely unreal! Best steak in Edinburgh!
Best meal we’ve had in a long time! Service, food, drinks, all amazing! Can’t wait for my next Popcorn Old Fashioned already!
Exceptional chips and service. However like everywhere else in the UK, steak never comes as ordered.
Outstanding dining experience. Both venue and staff were excellent. The food was exceptional.
