Good food but poor service. One of the dishes never came but was it to the bill twice.

The food is slightly overpriced. However the cocktail menu is awesome and it’s a great atmosphere.

Fabulous night - even though restaurant was very busy we had great service. The food was amazing - favourite being the soft shell crab!!

This is essentially a bar-restaurant. The food is very good even though portions are small. Nice place to have dinner if you are going out. Not appropriate for families in my view.

The food was divine with the Peruvian flavours elevating all the Japanese food. At 9pm it got so loud in the restaurant area that we couldn’t hear each other speak, that was the only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars

Good food and service, although the music was a little too loud for our group (family dinner with parents). We went pre-theatre on a Saturday night, and even at that time it felt a bit like a nightclub and it was hard to hear each other across the table! The food was very tasty but quite expensive for what we received - £40pp for a vegetarian sharing menu (meat/fish more expensive) consisting mainly of vegetables - no tofu or other vegetarian proteins. A cool place for dinner with friends or date night and we’d go back again, just probably not with our parents!

Went for my birthday with 7 friends, took an hr (after 3-4 times chase) to take our order (that’s drinks too), and food was brought out in different times, and still charged 13.5% service....

Great food. Tasty, strong cocktails.

Myself and my 4 colleagues had a booking for early evening, but we were short on time and needed to catch an earlier train. I rang up an hour before our booking, to cancel (rather then a 'no show'!!!) and I was told that there is a charge, of £20 per head ... so we move our booking an hour earlier to avoid an unnecessary £100 to buy a drink, and we find the restaurant nearly empty. Putting your card details down when making a booking is absolutely reasonable, and to charge people when they don't show up, is also reasonable. But if people have to cancel their table, and ring you to tell you, they should not be charged!!!

The food, service and ambience were all pretty good to be honest, it was just massively overpriced for what it is, IMHO. Especially the wine list. Written as someone who goes to a lot of places across London

It was ok, service was pretty poor, but overall a little disappointing.

Service déplorable, et très très long 2 plats de la commande oublié , c’était pour un anniversaire, on est parti prendre le dessert dans un autre restaurant.

While it's not a bad place, it is certainly over priced for the food quality.

The food was good, I wouldn't say amazing. Our waitress was so lovely and knowledgeable on the menu.

The host was beyond rude however and I think for an up market restaurant the toilets were shocking, they were among the worst in London I've ever been.

Great food very quick service very busy on a Saturday but worth a visit

We had the pre-theatre bento box. Was really delicious. This place is not cheap though and beverage prices are extortionate.

Really good pre theatre meal and great value with a glass of prosecco included. It was our anniversary and we were surprised with a nice sparkler with sorbet dessert. Highly recommended

Really nice ambient and cocktails. The food was also very enjoyable. However, the service was awful. The impression is that the staff don’t have any experience and need some training. Some example are: the waitress kept bring plates without taking empty glasses and plates from the table. He insisted for us to order quickly. I asked whether a dish was spicy and I was told it wasn’t but then it was. Overall we felt that we were rushed to finish our lunch to free up the table. Not sure I’ll be back soon.

Fantastic meal on a busy Friday evening. All the food was delicious (particularly the soft shell crab tempura, lamb chop and black cod) and the service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the buzzy atmosphere and music.

The food as always was amazing, a couple of the dishes we ordered never arrived but we were actually full by then and they didn’t charge for them.

Excellent experience all around. The food and service was exceptional. I’ll definitely go back when I’m in London again.

Service was not good. It was our first time there and the explanation about the portion sizes and how we should order wasn’t clear -we had to ask our server twice for additional explanations. They forgot some of the dishes we ordered and forgot to take them out of the bill, even though we expressly asked them to do this. We ordered two bottles of wine and a cocktail and they charged us for the wrong cocktail. These were all minor mistakes when considered individually, but taken as a whole we felt like we needed to double-check everything once they brought our bill. Place did not live up the expectations.

Food was fine but it was impossible to talk as the music volume was way too high and people standing up and shouting everywhere around the table. If you go on Google, Instagram or on the Chotto Matte website it is impossible to guess that it is "this kind" of restaurant, and as we just wanted a good quality food restaurant for a couple's dinner we were quite shocked by the noisy sweaty ambiance that we discovered in this restaurant.

A bit too loud for dinner setting as you need to shout to have conversation.
Food and service amazing.
