   Mothers Day Brunch today was SO disappointing, especially after having several decent dinners here since the restaurant opened. The food lacked “love.” That’s the best way I can describe the preparation and presentation. It was like the kitchen didn’t want to be working today. The prime rib lacked flavor/seasoning, the crab legs were dry (and I thought borderline spoiled), there was a tray of store-bought pastries, but no salad or vegetables except potatoes. The chilaquiles were a soggy mess. The best items on the menu were the charcuterie and cheese board and the made to order omelets. They came out well prepared and fairly quickly. Unfortunately, service wasn’t much better. Our waiter kept trying to clear plates when we were clearly still eating from them (were they short of plates???) and when he did clear the table good luck getting new silverware. I was also surprised no one (not the server or anyone from management) stopped by to ask about our meal. Given the price we expected much, much more.

   Went at lunch and the only menu “brunch” was limited and then they notified us they had no chicken (so no friend chicken sandwich nor chicken on top of 3 of their salads). Just very odd and just didn’t make sense. Maybe it is a good choice for breakfast or something, but it felt very odd and thus wasnt a great experience. The food I ended up having egg in a hole (poached egg on top of fried zucchini with red sauce was quite good while the rest of my party had traditional breakfast orders that were basic and bland. Just underwhelming.

   Some fantastic flavors and culinary ideas going on. Set in a relaxed casual space. Good service, also on the casual side. Maybe higher than average prices, but a bargain for the quality. The happy hour menu shows you can get a their amazing burger and fries for $14, which is a steal.

   We had a wonderful meal! The Fois Gras mousse was possibly the best we have ever had. The Salt Roasted Beet salad was in a creamy dressing that was fabulous. I had the gnocchi with a citrus sauce - yum! My husband's grilled New York Steak was cooked perfectly. The Fremont Bean side dish with Tasso ham was incredible. Kudos to Chef Anna for making this a wonderful dining experience!

    Easter brunch was less than, especially at $80 ea. My son's first omelet was made incorrectly, and we had to order the replacement from a passersby as our server never came to check on our food and drinks once the meal was delivered. We also ordered condiments, utensils, and drinks from others as we couldn't find our server. All drinks were ala carte, even coffee ($6 ea)

    We were there for Easter brunch and our first time! It was way over priced, $80 per person! Food was average and not hot! We wouldn’t go back!

    We were a little disappointed that the wood fired grill part of the restaurant was not in order. Therefore the meat selection was not there. I had a chicken dish that was a 1 out of 10 - not good. Our waiter was very hard to understand, and could not answer questions directly. It was a little annoying for us. For example, I have an egg legit allergy. When I asked him if a particular dish had egg, he said, "probably if it does, it is not a lot". Um, I can't have eggs at all. Just things like that. Take food allergies or sensitivities seriously! AND, have a gluten free bun for burgers, especially since the menu is not what it probably usually is without the grill working. would have liked to see that on the website - we felt a bit like you were not transparent.

    I have to confess that I was hoping for more… I received some recommendations about the restaurant and I felt a little disappointed. The service was excellent, very attentive and explaining all dishes. We started with the sturgeon to share. It was good, but the rosto potato could be thinner, so the appetizer could be delicate. I ordered the petit NY. It was medium like I ordered, but it was a tough meat. Of course I know NY steak is not a filet but not like the one that I eat yesterday. My boyfriend ordered the short rib and he said it was delicious. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate one. The chocolate part + the milk sauce was really good, but the pieces of bread (the waitress said it was ginger bread), were small pieces of salted wood. We left all of them in our plate. At the end, my bill was ($191.00, 231.00 with tip). I think it was a little too much for what we ate. .

    Hamburgers unseasoned and tasteless. Spare ribs too fatty but also dry, not close to being worth the $49 or so . One glass of wine was bad when served. The salads were very good. Been here a few times and the food was much better. Not going back.

    Servers seemed like they didn’t care about us and we were just a number. They didn’t care what we ordered or what we didn’t and recommendations were super scripted. Not a fan of this place. I won’t ding them too much on rating because I don’t want to hurt them but not my place.

    I'm a fan of Citizen Rail...pre-fire, and certainly a shame that this happens. I hope they can get the restaurant going as it was. Unfortunately now, they are charging the same amount for a substandard product. The lesser product is not an issue - the pricing for it is. Again, I get its hard times for them - but it's the restaurant that should resolve it, not the customer. I'd avoid it unless you're looking for drinks and/or a burger and until they get the kitchen up and running as it was created to be.

    2nd time here, great evening w/a visiting friend. The food quality is wonderful. Delicious carrot soup, some of the best hamachi I’ve ever had. Still dreaming about it. Good size portions of swordfish and steak. Will definitely be back.

    Citizen Rail is one of my favorites for dinner. Service and food are outstanding, completely different during brunch. Food is mediocre, and service is below standard. I’m afraid to go back for dinner after this service.

    Amazing service and outstanding food! We went during restaurant week to celebrate our 8 year anniversary and I am so happy we chose to eat here. First of all, you can't beat the value of the restaurant week pre-fix menu; with three courses and four + options to choose from with each course. The food was absolutely incredible; everything we ate left us in awe. And our server was absolutely amazing, very attentive and timed all of our courses perfectly. They even took care of dessert for our anniversary. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

    Service was incredible, really enjoyed our server and others stopping by to check on us. The ambiance is nice, upbeat, noisy in the bar, which we love. The food was about as close to bad as I’ve had in recent history. The first mention that should have been a flag was that the wood fired oven was being replaced so everything was grilled instead, probably should have just had the drinks and moved on to come back later when things were upgraded. Had the mushroom soup, nice presentation but the broth was basically brown water, no flavor at all and the crème fraise became the only flavor in the soup other than a randomly strongly smoked flavor of a mushroom. Would not recommend this dish. The two meals we had, New York strip and short ribs were a fantastic presentation and Cooke appropriately but the flavors again just didn’t come together properly. The mashed potatoes were our favorite part of the meal, they were very good. Again, the service was great and we enjoyed our drinks, the other drinks around the bar looked great as well. So I’d recommend for drinks and then ask if the kitchen is back to full par before ordering too much food.

    Overall great meal. They are on a limited menu due to a good fire in the kitchen. We started with a snack board that was delicious and I had a filet for my main course. The steak was excellent.
