Citrus & Salt
Horrible service, staff was not friendly and they do not care about people with allergies. I informed them about having a gluten and dairy allergy the waiter rushed me through and I got extremely sick. I believe the chicken wasn't fully cooked either. I would not recommend!
Here is the thing. There are 2 separate rooms for this restaurant which we did not know about. I reserved for a party of 8 and when we walked into the main restaurant the ambiance was great! However, to be lead all the way to the back room, very dark and dull was truly disappointing. Especially it being for brunch, people are not looking for an intimate room like that and it is a complete waste of space. Food was great, well seasoned. Just wish my chicken from the waffle taco was cooked a little more since I found uncooked pink pieces. The chef told our waiter the chicken was fully cooked but 3 other people from my party ordered the same thing and their chicken didn’t consist of uncooked chicken. Drinks were good... great concept but could be better for the price. Overall, I wouldn’t come back knowing I’ve been to restaurants that have the exact same concept that’s much cheaper and have better drinks.
We’ve been to Citrus & Salt several times for dinner and, like all of Jadon Santos’s restaurants, it never disappoints. We always share an order of the warm agave glazed blue cornmeal biscuits with two types of flavored butter. This time my husband ordered the chorizo and potato empanadas, which were lightly crisp on the outside and soft and tender within and served with two savory dipping sauces. Our friend had raw Wellfleet oysters and some beautifully seared pan-roasted scallops. I chose the carnitas-style baby back ribs with corn, which were incredibly flavorful and tender. We ended our meal with coffee and the fabulous churro bites, which arrived hot from the fryer (and not at all greasy), rolled in sugar and served with vanilla dulce de leche and melted Mezcal chocolate for dipping/spreading - heavenly! Our server was delightful. We’re already looking forward to our next meal there.
Brunch was amazing! The food and drinks were really really good!
There are mice running around the restaurant. Our group told the waiter and the staff did not seem to care.
Overpriced. terrible service. food was medium. not worth going to. loads of better places in boston
We got seated in the back room which was a little disappointing. We were a party of 2 seated next to 2 large parties (the only other ones in our room) which were celebrating birthdays.
Wasn’t what I thought it would be not very Mexican at all. Food was not seasoned. They served cold corn under Ribs. I’ve never seen Mexican Ribs.
Some terrific dishes—empenadas and short ribs—others good. Excellent service. Bright., fun space. Will definitely go back.
Great food and service. It was a little loud but we’ll definitely go back
Everything was perfect !
Food was outstanding. The corn on the cob dish was delish! Service and drinks were quite good. I'll definitely return and recommend to friends.
The food was amazing! We unfortunately got placed in the dark seating area in the back alone and we were a little disappointment because it was not the brunch ambiance we were going for. Other than that though the service and food was amazing.
Friends get together brunch. If you go for nothing else- go for the drinks. One of the coolest and most creative drink menus I’ve seen in a while. Soft serve mimosa was a knockout, so much that I almost drove over the next morning purely for that. Chicken and waffle tacos are MASSIVE and are shareable unless you eat nothing else. But you should eat other things. Like biscuits and the street corn. Cause hot Cheetos. Just do yourself a favor and go. Especially since they are now doing brunch on Saturday’s as well!!
Food was great. Service was great up until the end the waiter was overwhelmed and it got a tad bit slow. We were ready to go but hadn’t gotten the check.
The atmosphere is soothing and sultry. The drunk menu not only has fun names but the drinks were delicious. I would definitely go again!
I didn’t find the food or drinks worthy of all the hype of this place. Maybe just the atmosphere. Our server was great. The food was just blah, we got a few things including the corn, guac and the drinks as well were just ok. Maybe their brunch is good. I definitely prefer Lolita’s food and drinks.
We ordered 2 dishes to share and then an individual item per person. The calamari was nice and crunchy, but over salted. Tuna and salmon ceviche were delicious, as was the guacamole with chips. I had ordered chicken enchiladas, and they were really just gross. The were wrapped in something other than a tortilla, almost like a wonton wrapper, which ended up getting soggy and mushy in the sauce it was in. Also, the sauce seemed to be some sort of tomato sauce, that doesn't really go with enchiladas. And i'm pretty sure I didn't see or taste any chicken in them, and ended up leaving half of them behind. The Tequila is Better than Therapy drinks were good, but could have been a little stronger, and started tasting more watered down by the 3 round. The decor is beautiful, and very inviting.
Great food, fun atmosphere, not the best service however.
From the pictures on google and open table I was pretty excited to check out this place for brunch. And especially Mexican brunch menu was going to be my first time so was all the more thrilled!
And hands down, it beat my expectations in terms of interiors and decor. It was beautifully lit with suspender rope lights like the ones at a beach weeding, laid back lounge section with baby pink walls, a little bit of street art vibe going on at the bar section. All in the all I was super happy with the whole vibe.
Heads up- the quantity is humongous, so you might want to check with the waiter before going all out on the menu.
I went with a couple of other friends. We ordered four food items- jalapeños kettle chips, fried chicken & waffle tacos, citrus cured salmon tostadas and brunch chimichanga. I’d rate the food about 3/10.
All the items except for the brunch chimichanga and the kettle chips were utter disappointment. Completely lacked in taste and flavour. The fried chicken has no seasoning, it felt super bland. And the tostadas were a fail too. They got the presentation of the food right ( for the age of Instagram) but missed to check the more important boxes- food.
If I was forced to go back there again, it would be for the soft serve mimosa and that’s about it.
Excellent start to finish! Amazing atmosphere decor food and beautiful and delicious drinks! Highly recommend
Very excited to go to this restaurant. It was ridiculously loud (couldn’t hear my sister sitting right in front of me, nor our server when he did pay attention to us) and the food was not great. Our server barely paid attention to us. Giving 3 stars is generous.
The service was medium, however, I truly was disappointed and dissatisfied by the menu. First of all, they removed the Baja fish tacos from the menu as well as the coconut shrimp in which were the best items on the menu. Secondly, a lot of the food options had pork in them and my boyfriend is Muslim and cannot eat pork. We asked to substitute pork for chicken and they said no. The food was bad tasting and i am utterly disappointed.
I love this place and can't wait to come back again!
Loved everything! Beautifully decorated, delicious food (smoked chicken enchiladas are AMAZING) and drinks are incredible too! Will definitely go back!
food was okay, not TOO impressed.... I would go back for drinks and lite bites with friends. Ambiance is very nice and loved the interior decor.
Went here for my birthday dinner. Service was excellent! Drinks and food were delicious! The enchilada was not our favorite but everything else was so good.
Table of 4 and we all loved it!
Great place to have a great and few bites. The services was great l. I definitely would love to come back!
Bartender was really nice and friendly.
Empenadas were delicious. Great little afternoon spot.
Great food and great service!
Beautiful interior. Cocktails and food were fun, creative, and tasty. The place was not too expensive for the Boston area and the plates were perfect for sharing. Service was extremely quick and servers friendly and helpful.
The brunch is far better than the dinner. Dinner was underwhelming considering how good the brunch is.
Fun atmosphere with beautiful and bright tasting flavors! Beautiful decor yummy drinks as well. Highly recommend!
Such a great meal and a fun environment. Will definitely come back next time I visit Boston. Thanks!
Our waitress was AMAZING! This was our last night visiting Boston and she made it incredibly memorable!! Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing vibe! I cannot say enough good things!
Drinks was good, food was good. the waiter could have been a little more engaged. To see if this was our first time or not, Just to recommend how to order the food. We will return
Must try the Waffles and Chicken... Excellent. The rest of the menu is also very taste.
First time doing brunch with a good friend this place really never disappointed me with anything I loved the cocktails and the food those chicken waffles, ceviche of the day fruit salad was legit amazing! Thank you for everything!!
