People and food were great thank you Claudia’s for making my aunt and fathers birthday a great one!!
Didn’t get a chance to eat! I had a reservation for 8:15pm and was told they couldn’t seat anyone do to the kitchen being backed up because of a private event. After 25 mins of waiting to be seated, I asked how much longer do we have to wait, the host to me that he didn’t have time to answer my questions and that he couldn’t keep answering questions and to bare with him. After waiting 1 hr and 5 mins after our reservation we left and ended up going to Bobby Vans Steakhouse
I had a amazing evening planned for my fiancé scheduled for 8p. I was told when I arrived that it will be a 45m wait. I waited and waited...until we finally ordered at the bar. Once my food came I asked for utensils and the bartender forgot I had to ask 3 bartenders to get one set of utensils. The host was a gentleman and asked us if he could do something for the inconvenience. It is an amazing spot that brings a whole lot of disappointed expectations. Sad
I went for Valentine’s Day and it’s a lovely experience, food was great as well. I will be going again very soon!!!
Food was bad. Service was bad. But it’s a beautiful place.
Overall good food and wine. I was disappointed with the Valentine’s Day service. We did the 4-course menu with wine pairing but the food was served at different times than the wine and the waitress (or anyone) never stopped to explain why certain wines were chose for our plate. Nothing was harmonious and put a damper on the mood - so we won’t be doing that again. Our poor waitress was serving at least 8 tables, maybe more. It’s not her fault. Definitely a management issue.
Also, side note - I had a drink at the bar before dinner and you’d think the bartenders lost their dog. Try to smile, guys.
Forced to go out on Valentines Day on a business trip, I went to Claudia’s where I’ve always had excellent food and good value even though high end. The limited Valentines menu had few things I liked and because I don’t eat dessert I was forced to pay for 3 courses even though I only was allowed to have 2. Ridiculously there was another course offered one would have thought I could have chosen since I was paying for 3, but it was only available if you bought 4 courses. So I paid a lot of money for mediocre food in small quantities. Even though I’ve loved the place in the past this experience soured me on the establishment. I don’t know that I’d return.
My visit was to decide on hosting a birthday party. I enjoyed the venue as it’s very modern with classy decor. Our waiter was excellent and even made drinks at the bar once we settled our dinner bill for my friend who wanted something with no sugar. I am not sure if I’ll host a large party due to the food portion size. However, I enjoyed my crab cake dinner and really could have had two cakes instead of one.
What a fabulous establishment! Decor, drinks, food and services exceeded my expectations!
Low quality food at high quality prices. We paid $42 for a fish dish that most certainly not fresh, it tasted like freezer masked poorly by being overseasoned. The ropa vieja was chewy and the look was very unappealing- I’ve had meat from a package that had more freshness than this dish. As with the crab cake, definitely frozen crab meat had almost no flavor or moistness. The only thing decent were the oysters and empanadas, and the service - our waitress was very nice and attentive. But nothing makes up for bad food, We learned why we had never heard of Claudia’s before. It was an over $200 I wish we could get back.
Great service in a very nice space with well appointed decor. Food was OK (scallops were over cooked).
It was very cold that was my only complaint even after I asked the waiter could they turn the heat on, it felt like it got colder. No one wants to eat great food in the cold. Beyond that the food was marvelous and the atmosphere was beautiful. I will definitely be going back for happy hour
The food was very good. However our server was not very attentive. We never got a refill on water waited quite a while for our check and had to go up to the front to find someone to cash us out.
Great service and atmosphere. Had a 730 reservation it was my wifes birthday upon our arrival we were seated right away. I had request to have an arrangement delivered which was, and the restaurant accepted it and had it already on the table for when we were seated. The service was A1, the server was very kind and attentive and pleasant. Food was A1 as well I had the Branzino fish which was the whole fish flash fried with a cream sauce that was very tasty, my wife had the filet mignon which she said was excellent an our Daughter had the Lamb chops that was good as well. I well definitely return. Thanks Claudias.
I went to Claudia's for dinner New Years Eve and I was very disappointed in the food. I had fish that I had to spit out several times due to bones in it. The loster mac and cheese barely had any lobster in it. For the price I was seriously let down. The waitress was very pleasant though.
Excellent service and wonderful food!
Food was devine. Service was fast and waitress was always around to make sure we were good. I had my birthday dinner here and i was very impressed
Dinner was good however steak was over cooked. Ordered medium and received welldone
Great restaurant! My girlfriends and I met there for our annual holiday dinner and early celebration of my sister’s birthday! It was great food, beautiful restaurant, and the live entertainment was great!
I took my wife and friends her for our 5th Anniversary. Everything was great. We will be going back regularly
GO TO THIS RESTAURANT
Fabulous time hosting a friend's birthday party, the birthday dessert was amazzzing, including the special sparkler.
Beautiful decor! I felt like I was transported to a restaurant in Miami or somewhere in the Mediterranean! The food is spectacular! Great bar area too!
Sleek and festive atmosphere, we celebrated our friend’s birthday. The wine selection was excellent and we also enjoyed a glass of cava. The special for the night was crab legs with Filet Mignon and we also ordered the grilled market seafood. Both selections were well seasoned and grilled to perfection. We finished off the evening with carrot cake which was more like an English pudding and decadent. The chocolate lava cake was also delicious. The service was excellent, attentive, and very knowledgeable. Finally, there is a jazz band on Friday and Saturday nights. Great music, food, and atmosphere to peek the holiday season!
The food was amazing. The owner and staff where professional. We will definitely come back. We had a great time. I recommend this restaurant.
The waitstaff are outstanding and the food is delicious, but highly seasoned. The restaurant was very noisy, but we enjoyed our dinner. It may have been less noisy seated farther from the bar area.
The atmosphere and music were great. I was seated promptly and greeted by my server who offered a minimal greeting. I asked a few menu questions to which the server replied “let me ask the kitchen”. Once we determined a couple of answers, off went my order which was served 35 minutes later. The food was lukewarm and although the ribeye was flavorful, it was painfully over cooked. I eventually asked for dessert recommendations and was served the carrot cake. All in all, the meal was acceptable but certainly a bit underwhelming. I came to eat, I wasn’t afraid of the price but after a full day, I was looking for more accent on both service and quality. Claudia need to secret shop her operation.
Amazing Restaurant- The food, The staff, The ambiance, The weekend Entertainment, The Cocktails and importantly The Wine Selection.
I describe Claudia’s as a Steakhouse offering a wide-range of seafood options. The Rhythm is Gonna-Getcha with the hint of latin flair.
Recommend for: Date Nite, Singles Night, family Night, or Simple Night at the Bar.
Take advantage of their half of bottles of wine nights and happy hour at the Bar.

The best place ever!
My girlfriend's birthday was on a Monday this year (zzzz...), so I tried to liven it up with dinner at someplace posh downtown. It worked; Claudia's was on top of things, with a birthday card and confetti decorations sprinkled on the table when we arrived (not requested, but a very nice and thoughtful touch), and a chilled bottle of Moet Chandon also on the table (requested and delivered as promised--thank you!). The server was prompt, attentive, and professional; the food good to very good, and the spectacular, posh decor unsurpassed on K Street. On balance, there were a few minuses:
1) staff were a little too eager to whisk our appetizer plates away (yes, we were savoring that last remaining bite, a compliment to the chef!) which made the otherwise tranquil surroundings feel "rushed", a feeling that was only compounded by the entrees being delivered before the appetizer plates were removed (it’s all in the timing, folks);
2) at 9:00 or 9:15 PM they (who?) decided to send everyone a message that closing time was "only 45 minutes away" by shutting off the long, graceful gas fireplace that "floats" behind the bar -- the chic ambiance of the restaurant took a big drop in the middle of our dinner (I had specifically requested a table with a view of the fireplace); and...
3) the music; must we all listen to 80s rock everywhere we go? I can't get away from it, not even at Claudia's! Such a beautiful venue can do better for its sophisticated and/or worldly patrons, such as real straight-ahead jazz (no, not smooth jazz), lounge music, dance music (yes, BPM, but not too loud please), or electronica
The good news is the complaints I just listed above are small things, and though they result in negative impacts to the overall dining experience, they are still small in that they can easily be fixed with more active management. The good news is that Claudia's has the hard parts right; the food is excellent and the decor is spectacular. We'll be back...
It was our first time dining at Claudia. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday. The host acknowledged his birthday and sat us promptly even though we were late due to traffic in the city. The decor was cozy and comfortable. The server explained the special and answered all questions about the menu. The service was great and the food was brought out in a timely manner. They even celebrated with a birthday dessert. The band was especially good as well. We will surely return for another visit. Sandra W.
Lovely staff who took care of my every need. Delicious food and champagne
Waiters were going over us to collect the fini
Celebrated my birthday with my hubby!
Excellent across the board!!!
It was perfect from start to finish. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate his 27th birthday. they decorated the table and our waitress was amazing!
He ordered a steak and I ordered seafood pasta. We also ordered mussels as our app and two spiced raspberry margaritas!! EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!!! Worth every dime!!!!!
Perfect to celebrate special occasions with the one you love :-)
I had an awesome experience at Claudia’s for my birthday!! Outstanding service and great food!!
We love Claudia's especially Saturday night Flamenco music and dancers. We've taken friends and family as well. The staff is always so lovely. Tonight is the eve of our daughter's birthday. She chose Claudia's for her birthday dinner. We are all so lucky. Food is just amazing and the ambiance is perfect.
Claudia’s is the weirdest restaurant I ever been to in my life. I don’t know who made all these other reviews but I am pretty sure they were paid to write them because they did not match my experience in the slightest. The furniture looked like cheap event rentals for a party. They charged three dollars for four pieces of bread with nothing on them. I have never felt it so necessary to write a review in my life. Needless to say I will not be returning and neither should you.
The ambiance was amazing. Whenever I visit DC in the future, this restaurant will be a definite planned stop.
