Great food. Great service.
The food was great, though the main dishes could've been better. Service wasn't as good as expected. It got a little bit loud, especially since the tables are very close to each other.
The food, the atmosphere the staff were all perfect, if I could come back here every day I would but sadly I am no billionaire...yet
No complaints here at all. Excellent service, the food was amazing. Beautiful presentation. Tasting menu left you comfortable.
The quail was delicious and satisfying. The service was impeccable and the staff friendly and attentive. My only issue is not with the restaurant, but outside — there is bad odor and latex gloves on the ground. This is a San Francisco problem, but perhaps the restaurant could have someone wash down the area just outside before the start of business each day.
Entire experience was sublime! Flavor, aroma, presentation, and taste were all outstanding. We consider a few of the courses at COI to be best in class among the top tier restaurants that we’ve visited, anywhere. Worthy of a spot among the handful of elite restaurants in this highly competitive market. Well done indeed!
Awesome experience for everything. Made the night special! Thanks!
Coi was amazing. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. The food was delicious and perfectly balanced.
Timing was too long between dishes.
Some plates where very hard to eat taste related.
The duck was very under cooked.
Good food!! Incredible hospitality!
I loved the creativity and flavors of every course. Our servers had a couple gifts for us which was an entire wow factor for my boyfriend. I would say one of my favorite 3 star Michelin restaurants !
Excellent. Top notch service
Fabulous food in an elegant atmosphere. Service was outstanding.
What can I say? One of the best meals I've had this year, and I eat out a LOT. This is definitely on a par with French Laundry or Per Se. The service is impeccable, the captain's wine pouring includes amazing wines, the food is gorgeous. Not a cheap meal, for certain - but you will relish the experience for years to come.
I loved every minute of this dining experience. The staff: warm and cordial. The food : well chosen, prepared, and presented. And , at 40% of Saison cost, and better. Thank you.
Amidst all the fine dining available in San Francisco, there are few places that truly capture the essence of French cuisine except at Coi.
I've had Erik's food twice and have been astounded at the precision in his classic French technique from his duck royale, sauce emulsions, terrines. There is a contrast of lightness but heavy flavor and the presentations of each dish themselves are beautiful.
Coi also has an extremely warm and jovial new FoH that has changed since my prior visit last June. And a new pastry chef that is upholding the French undercurrent in his technical pastries - a needed change from the typical ice creams that are a mainstay on tasting menus across the city.
Also, a plus that Erik's love of game birds is making an appearance to change the tides of protein choices in the city.
Will definitely return.
Hands down the best dinner I have ever had. Service and food were extraordinary. Unreal experience. If you are ever in San Francisco, this is a must try.
The music is a very bad point : ugly and noisy , we don’t need any music in this kind of high level restaurant.
Was very much looking forward to this two-Michelin-starred restaurant. All but two of the courses were very good or better. One was exceptional. Plating was beautiful (as were the plates themselves). Price for the number and quality of the courses was high compared with other options (although I find US pricing for multiple-course tastings at top resaurants generally to be higher than elsewhere). Wine pairings were thoughtful, and wines were very nice, but not worth the price. Service was impeccable. In short, it was a very nice experience, but not close to worth the $600 per person price.
Not a fancy or cozy place the wait staff was very good and served in unison.
This was an 8 course tasting meal.
Lots of attention went in to the details but neither my wife nor I like much of the food
She liked the bread and I the duck. Nothing else on the menu was to our liking. One of the courses looked like cat food and what I imagine cat food would taste like.
The food might be apriciated by someone with a finer pallet.
Absolutely outstanding, it was a gift for my birthday and Coi restaurant made it perfect and memorable night for me and my family, we all loved it and I want to say BIG thank you to all the staff which they were super formal but at the same time very friendly and they made us feeling like a home. Perfect job on every details of the food presentation and taste, everything was very balanced and not missing anything also my favorite part was the dessert wine as a gift and surprising or amazed part was eggplant dish, incredible and amazing like seriously, great job and cheers to you guys looking forward to join you again after being 3 Michelin star again because you definitely deserve it.
The best restaurant I have ever been！
A very happy 22nd birthday！！！！
Excellent food, beautiful ambiance - great service.
We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had high expectations as it is a 3 star Michelin restaurant. However, it is not as good as I expected.
Very less food. Plate is huge with very less amount of food each (see pictures). In the end, I still feel hungry. They should definitely provide MORE food. I was seriously considering buying McDonald’s after dinner. Crap
Price is too expensive (over 700 for 2 ppl without wine) compared with the amount of food it provides.
Food is ok but not impressive. I have been to other 1 star Michelin restaurants and didn’t notice any difference of food qualities between them. Actually I like some 1 star Michelin restaurant better. And many of them are much cheaper
Definitely not recommend
The third Michelin star is well deserved. Wish they had cocktails and not just beer and wine.
The most caring and helpful staff I have ever met at a restaurant! Of course, the food is without question among the best in the world.
Compare to other Micheline 3 stars restaurants, the foods and courses they provided vs the price they charge, the value is just fair only, so I wouldn't come back again or recommend to others.
I saw a few disappointing reviews recently and was concerned about our meal. However, I was not disappointed in the food nor the wine pairing. I've eaten Michelin starred restaurants and Coi ranked right up there. There was only 1 dish that didn't hit the mark for me. By the way folks, the restaurant is now a 2 star, not a 3 star. And, ok, the cutlery looked like something that you'd pick up second hand, but I'm not sure I would have noticed that if I other reviewers hadn't pointed it out before I went to the restaurant. So, if you've never been to Coi and are looking for a 2 star experience, don't hesitate to give the restaurant a try.
Everything, every staff, every dish, every wine pairing were perfect!
Worst Michelin experience ever, worthless. Tables are very close to each other, people besides u can heard everything what u say. Even the food, tableware, cutlery, dishes are featureless as a 3stars restaurant.. not worth a special journey
We were seated somewhat near the kitchen and, as a result, had the opportunity to hear the chef loudly berate his staff with profanities on multiple occasions. A unique experience to say the least.
Loved the true upscale dining!
Amazing service, food, and overall evening!! Our server was extremely personable and we were treated to an extra test course as well as an extra cake dessert course forey wife's birthday.
Every dish was amazing and we got to meet Chef Erik Andersen on our way out to thank him and the staff for an amazing evening. They deserve to regain that third star for sure!!
Very enjoyable place. Definitely worthy of its Michelin stars.
Very nice dinner. Restaurant surprisingly quiet. Top-notch, friendly service. Great wine recommendations. Food was very good but didn’t blow me away - perhaps expectations were too high. But very fun evening.
It just didn’t measure up. While expect small portions with this fine dining as in other such restaurants I was left wanting. “Next” in Chicago far surpasses this experience for presentation, experience and quality of food.
If you’re interested in food and are looking for an exciting and surprising meal with lots of details to appreciate and talk about, then this is the place. Even though it was pricey (about $1000 total for two people + wine pairings), it was a perfect experience.
The meal and service were exceptional- and expensive. Dinner for two, with wine, was over $800. Coi is for that rare, special occasion. Previously a 3 Michelin star restaurant, the chef left to lead the US team in the Bocuse d'or competition. Tough act to follow but the new chef managed to get 2 Michelin stars a few days ago.
In addition to a wonderful meal, each of the 10 courses was served in a unique, attractive dish. Surprising was the fact that the flatware was "ordinary", at best.
If you need a special night and the price doesn't trouble you, Coi is a most enjoyable evening.
Not worth !taste normal . And that day is my friend birthday.but no any cake ....
Outstanding sampling menu. Every dish is exquisite. Very thoughtful preparation bringing out all the flavors. Friendly and casual atmosphere. Wine pairing is decent. First few wines were really great & going well with the food but didn't pair well till the end. Service was nice but often it felt a bit mechanical - in some cases they did not create connection while explaining the dish or wine. Some nitpicking in the review is because of expectations from a 3 star restaurant. But on the whole it was very satisfying and memorable experience.
