Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Oak Park
Great Dinner! Awesome Wine! Excellent Staff!
I was very underwhelmed. We were seated at restaurant around 7 pm. Our server walked past our table for about 10 minutes without greeting us. It wasn't until I stopped him as he was walking back to ask for assistance that I was acknowledged. We placed our food and drink order. Someone else brought out our drinks. Sadly, the server forgot our water, appetizers, and failed to explain the ingredients in the Jambalaya. I spoke with the manager but and he was only semi- helpful. The food was not as good the Oak Lawn location and the ambiance was different as well. Needless to say, I'm not going back here.
Very nice staff, excellent wine & menu selections, attractive decor, good location, definitely a wonderful dining experience again & again. The gift shop is amazing with unique ideas & items.
This is absolutely the best Cooper’s Hawk I’ve been to in years. The Service was excellent, the entree’s and appetizers were delicious and the wine is just the best and our waitress was outstanding!!!! We will definitely be coming back real soon!!!!!
Awesome dining experience! We did wait a long time for our appetizers, but we received an apology and got them for free without saying anything. Our waitress took great care of us. Happy to have had such excellent service to go with the fantastic food and wine.
Nice meal for St. Patrick's Day. Our ceasar salad took an unusually long time, but other than that the meal was good. Sierra was a great server!
Service was super slow. We allowed 1.5 hours as we had to be somewhere and we were late. Had burger salad and Mexican shrimp. Restaurant was not that crowded either.
Overall it was great, long wait on the food, but the server provided us with a two glasses of wine and chocolate because of the wait. We will be returning soon.
I was really disappointed in our experience! This place felt like an Applebees--the wine that we sampled tasted awful! The food was mediocre. Service was rushed and our server was clearly stressed by a busy Saturday night. We won't be back.
Date night - Cooper’s Hawk was busy busy as we expected. Appetizers were good, wine was prepaid via our club account, and our server was delightful. We’ll be back.
Both the service and food were really good. No complaints. The noise level was a bit much. However it was a Saturday evening and St. Patrick's day.
It was my wife’s birthday and I notified them when I placed my reservation with Open Table. Everyone we came in contact with from front desk to waitress acknowledged her birthday. They also provided a special complimentary desert.
Wine was great. The food was amazing and we didn’t have to wait long to be seated.
Average higher-end Americana food with little flavor or originality. Much better restaurants in the area with better food, such as Obsessed.
I've eaten at Coopers Hawk Oak Park about 6 times. The food is always good, but the service is hit or miss. You never know if you will have a good experience or not. Most often we have had fairly inexperienced service staff. On this particular day I brought two friends to lunch here. They had never been to the restaurant. The food was very nice. The service was just bad (waiter, initials S.H., 2 letters in his first name). As we left, my friends said they never need to come to Coopers Hawk again. Let me give you some examples of the service: (1) We ordered the famous, delicious brussel sprout appetizer to share. It arrived with no serving spoon/utensil. We called the server back and asked for one. Would you want to have to use your "used" fork to divy out more off a serving platter when others are having to do the same? Someone came and cleared our dirty appetizer / bread plates and used cutlery. When our entrees arrived, no server noticed that we had no knives with which to eat our meal. We called back the "food runner" and asked for knives. We sat while our food got cold, waiting for knives. When we had finished our entrees, someone cleared away our plates. We waited awhile for our waiter to come to the table. He asked if we were finished. We said yes (expecting him to ask us about dessert). He made as to leave to get our bill. We interjected that we would like to hear about desserts. He left and after a few minutes came and dropped off the dessert menus. He did not make any suggestions. We then waited 20 minutes (my friend clocked it) until our waiter came back to see if we wanted dessert. We were fed up. We told him, unfortunately, having to wait such a long time for him that we no longer had time to enjoy dessert. It ruined the luncheon. He was never quick to come and check on anything during the meal. Coopers Hawk is a fun location. The food is good. TRAINING for your wait staff should be a priority.
Food & services was outstanding as always. Our server Michael was the best
The food was so delicious. Our waiter was superb very attentive n kind.
Two stars because I've previously dined here and the food and service was better. Otherwise I'd give one star. I will not make the mistake of going during what appeared to be a shift change. Service was slow and food was previously cooked and served reheated. I can't believe a restaurant such as this would even attempt to serve a reheated burger and fries. The server although friendly never asked if we wanted to taste wine or purchase wine. Also the server never asked for my member card so I didn't receive any points for my horrible meal. The manager seemed more interested in socializing at the tasting bar vs. helping an obviously short serving and kitchen staff. It took over 30 minutes to get my check and close out and the only reason they showed up then is because I and my guest put on our coats as though we were leaving (I figured they'd bring the check then and they did).
I have been to Coopers Hawk previously and have enjoyed my experience. However, I have not been at this location. After an event, a friend and I decided to walk in to this Cooper's Hawk for dinner. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait. I immediate logged onto Open Table and book a reservation for this same location within 5 minutes. It was 655pm when I booked the reservation on Open table and the first available appointment was 7pm (with 9 slots open). So I reserved. We were seated in minutes - only to find there were at least 4 empty tables surrounding us. Thus we were truly annoyed that we were told it was a 45 minute wait. Our waiter was nice and attentive. However, when our orders came out, they were mixed. Some of my request were on my friend's plate and hers on mine. The waiter took it back to be fix. However, they just rearranged the food and once we got it back, it was cooled. Again, the waiter took it back and we had to wait again for the food to be remade. We paid our bill in full with appropriate tip as it was not the waiter's fault. The experience was terrible with no apologies made from the waiter, the chef or management. Oh and incidentally... we left our name on the wait list even though we had been seated under the Open table reservation. We were paged exactly 45 minutes after we arrive. This was really disturbing as those empty tables remained empty the entire time we were there. This visit definitely did not live up to the expected Cooper Hawks experience. Extremely disappointed.
Amazing service. Will definitely come back.
I really enjoy this restaurant, especially this location. Very great staff working there and my food was excellent as always!
Celebrating my friend closing on her house
I love this place! From the wine tasting room, to the bar area, to the main dining room, such a nice atmosphere. Food is delicious! Have tried lots on the menu and most everything is GREAT and the only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Surf and Turf (shrimp and steak were overcooked and not seasoned well). I'd highly recommend the Shrimp and Scallop Risotto, Shrimp Polenta, Gnocchi dishes and Elle's Chicken Piccata. Great wine and service to go along with amazing food, we frequent this place and always enjoy!!
Stunning food, splendid wine...and our server Andrea was amazing in every way, with impeccable service, menu suggestions, and graciousness. We'll be back!
The food was great and so was the waitress. My only complaint is the wait. Had to wait 40 minutes and I had reservations.
There was nothing wrong with our experience, but it didn’t live up to the image it projects. For Chicagoland veterans, this is no Bin 36 despite similar vibes. I feel like it belongs in a mall as the “fancy” restaurant but I don’t think it compares to many of the better restaurants in Chicago or Oak Park (Citrine, Maya)
Seated 20 minutes after our reservation.
The bread was 15 minutes later.
The wine is okay, the food is very good but lacks unique specialness.
The server was very good but just couldn’t make up for everything else.
Cost. Actually very reasonable, but perhaps too apropos.
I’m wouldn’t tell someone not to go, but if they asked for a recommendation it would be halfway down my list.
Loved it. This was my first time there. From the time we entered the restaurant it was great. They offered you a sample of wine. The hostess were great. The server was even better. They catered to you. I highly recommend I definitely will be back.
Disappointed in Chicken sandwich. The meal was hot but the piece of chicken not the best
We arrived early for our reservation and had a FREE wine tasting. Service was great......
The food is very good. Service was very slow in this particular day.
Food was excellent as usual but service was slow.
A little too loud between music and people, and our waitress didn’t check on us as often as we would have liked, but overall it was wonderful.
I can't say enough about our recent experience at Cooper's Hawk in Oak Park. The staff was incredibly accommodating and understanding through some confusion related to dietary restrictions. The manager and our server were incredibly helpful. The food and wine were excellent as well. The manager's recommendation of the barramundi was perfect -- I've never tried this fish before, and can't wait to have it again. We're really looking forward to our next visit to this restaurant. Outstanding staff and delicious food and drinks!
The food was just ok I’ve been twice and just wasn’t excited about going back my server had a wonderful personality but just slow
The waiter did an excellent job serving us that night! He was very knowledgeable about the wines!
We were running a bit late due to an emergency. I called the restaurant and they were very accommodating. They still seated us. We had a fabulous dinner. My sister who is a very picky eater classified her experience as "divine". Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and very kind. It was a fantastic close to a stressful day for us. This location NEVER disappoints.
I took my husband for the first time, we loved the wine. The steaks were kind of small. Overall, great service from waiter and staff. Oh and we love the Romance Red wine and pretzel bread😊
As always, Coopershawk nailed it. The food is always great. Service is top-notch too. You can’t go tong here!
Restaurant was fairly empty. Waitress was very nice and personable but service was very slow. We were family and not in a hurry but could have been a problem. I hesitate to return as service is very important. Food was good, portions small for price. Just so-so.
Love this place....my number one go to for wine, tastings and food. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating
