Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Rockville
- Waitstaff wear masks
- Diners must wear masks unless eating or drinking
It was difficult to have the server’s attention.
Stephon was amazing!! Food was good. Value was good. Seem we got seated next to everyone else when they could have been more spread out but maybe that’s because of staffing. Really enjoyed it and will be back again
Our server did an outstanding job. The food was very good and reasonable prices.
Food is always delicious. Our server may have been new so service was just ok.
Great place to gather with friends and family - barrel reserve wine is the best
The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is fun. Reservations available for the outdoor patio as well as indoors. Outdoor service was noticeably slower than my experiences indoors, but a nice evening overall.
Great place. Good wine
The food was great & our waiter, Louis, was great! He made our birthday celebration more fun.
Amazing service, great food and drink selection! Went here with some coworkers and it was a very pleasant atmosphere
Our server Louis, was great in recommending dishes and his personality was very engaging.
Overall, the ease in reserving the table and the food, service, etc was very good. Either we were a little hungry or the waiter took a while to take our order. I am really not complaining only an observation. The food was delicious and we were treated with etiquette.
EXCELLENT experience! It was my mom’s birthday and our experience made it so special. We couldn’t have asked for better service. Our wonderful server, Christopher, really went above and beyond! Our food was of course delicious, as usual!
If you're curious but not serious about wine, this is a fun place. They sell only their label of wine, and in truth it's factory-assembled-in-Chicago, highly manipulated stuff that isn't likely to please "wine people." [The waiter said they sent from grapes from vineyards in Europe, but that can't possibly be true. The U.S. maybe.]
That said, if you like wine but aren't all geeked out about it -- like you go into the liquor store to get wine for a dinner party and don't know where to start, and wind up buying chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon with nice labels, which was me until I got the wine bug just 6 months ago, so I know whereof I speak -- you'll probably have fun with the flights, varieties, tastes you can get, etc. They tend to be sweet, and not polished. But Cooper's Hawk Inc. has 47 restaurants or something and they need to cater to popular tastes and pump out a ton of the stuff. Given that, it's a noble effort.
As for the food: It's a big, crazily eclectic menu, featuring Thai, Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean, and farm-to-table-y dishes and more. All of it was okay. We had the Barramundi [dry] and Thai lettuce wraps [fun to assemble!], and both were fine, though the recipes felt like they came out of a factory too. Execution was uninspired, but I tend to grade on a Covid curve for service and cooking these days. Our waiter was genial but not well-informed.
When you enter you pass through a big room with a "Napa-style" tasting room, with stand-up service that appears popular with the locals and those waiting for tables. You also pass through a gift shop, a sort of high-end Cracker Barrel vibe.
The chain was purchased by a hedge fund not long ago -- good for the founders! -- which means they're under pressure to grow and who knows how scalable this thing is without the wine going totally to hell. Their waiters push the wine club, and to his credit ours seemed a bit embarrassed to do so. They need additional revenue streams. Who among us doesn't?
The salad, chopped wedge was superb. Loved the dressing and blue cheese.
The tri medallions were terrible. The meat was prepared properly, but the three “sauces” weren’t sauces at all, but globs of congealed flavoring, dropped on top, and not even warm. The asparagus spear a were so overdone, they resembled pale green, limp, lifeless, spears, with no fiberous consistency.
We went to Cooper's Hawk for my mother's 90th birthday. The food was excellent and the service even more so. Antonio, even though he is a rookie server, made sure all of our needs were met. We had an incredible fun filled evening. I will definitely be returning to lunch/dinner there.
Great ! Most definitely coming back !
Great food and service at an outstanding price. One of the best.
The service and food were incredible! I had the Jambalya and would one hundred percent recommend. The Chocolate Almond wine was amazing as well! Will be going back soon!
Food was delicious and our server, Donna, was fantastic. Will definitely return.
Our 1st visit. Ate outside. Delightful & great service. Delicious appetizers & yummy entrees. We will be back.
Everything was excellent! We arrived early for our reservation but were able to be seated quickly. Staff is courteous, efficient and professional. Food and wine perfectly complimented each other. Staff suggestions were ordered and couldn’t have been better. From the pot stickers with Asian slaw, the triple tenderloin, steak salad, surf & turf - everything was well presented and perfectly spiced.
The menu is great, the food is always terrific and Sarah was a fabulous server. We love this restaurant.
As a vegan who enjoys going to a local bar and restaurant , I would like to see more varieties of vegan options too include breads and salads. Not vegetarian which includes dairy products, but plant based options
Very nice restaurant with an outstanding gluten-free menu. Service is great. Will return to this restaurant.
The service I got was outstanding. I bought a friend to your Restaurant for her birthday. They even gave her a birthday treat at the end of our birthday luncheon. She wrote me a letter saying she had a great experience.
Our server was attentive and friendly. Food is always delicious and we love the wine varietals.
Great Service by Blake! Easy time inside or out ...
Love being able to sample a variety of wines before ordering. Food and service was fabulous as always!
