We are so grateful for an amazing evening down in the cellar with our son to celebrate the end of his freshman year at UTK. The bisque and shrimp cocktail appetizers were delicious and the steaks were amazing. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was cozy and a perfect place to celebrate! We will certainly miss this iconic restaurant location in Knoxville. 🧡

This location is closing in 2 weeks that I was unaware of. The grills made the steaks taste like they were charred! Horrible taste! Way not worth what I paid for dinner for my family!

We loved the place as soon as we walked in. Dylan was our server and we had a great way about him. Very attentive but we never felt as though we were being rushed. The food was outstanding. I had the crab cakes that were delicious and my husband had a steak which he said was great.

This was a last minute reservation for Valentine’s Day so a booth was the only option. We hate booths because of the lack of room. Other than that, the food was delicious.

We had a great time, excellent waitress/bartender. As usual, great ambience. A true shame that this place will soon be history, we have learned of plans to tear this establishment down to put up some relatively soulless apartment building

First- the service was great. Our server checked in often and accommodated dietary restrictions from our group. The ambiance was also nice. It was perfect for this special occasion and has a cool “old school” steakhouse vibe. The food was fine. Both mine and my wife’s steaks were over cooked. They were served well done and we ordered medium. There was no pink at all. I ordered a side of broccoli and it came with 4 pieces of broccoli. It was almost comical. The drinks were pretty good- but a little too sweet. Overall, a solid 4/5 because of the service and ambiance.

We were seated promptly and enjoyed a fabulous meal. We orders the mushrooms and cauliflower appetizers followed by grilled shrimp and teriyaki chicken. The salads were fresh and the cheddar cheese dressing is always extraordinary. We will be back.

The service was awful. It took 15 minute to have any server check in when I sat down. It took a very long time to get drinks when ordered and a later drink order took over 20 minutes to deliver and only after I flagged down our server. The food was ok but the experience left a lot to desire. I would have been more understanding if the restaurant was full but it was not. Our server was only servicing 3 tables and disappeared quite frequently for extended periods of time.

The Copper Cellar Down in the Cellar never disappoints. Excellent food, service and wine. We especially appreciate the ambiance that has remained over the years. NO NEED TO UPDATE! Some things are classic and need to be kept intact. This place is one!

Restaurant was amazing. My wife and I went for our 5 year anniversary and I had some special requests for our table before we got there. Richard (the manager) was extremely helpful in helping me get these done and even went above and beyond by having a custom menu printed up for us that congratulated us on our 5 year anniversary. All of the staff was amazing. The food was even better. Highly recommend the ale steak and peanut butter pie.

Been driving from Charlotte to eat there since we discovered it 20 years ago. Go 2 or 3 times a year. It was excellent from the food to the service. Two meals and bottle of wine for less than $100 before tip. Great value.

Great everything! We had 6:30pm reservations Down in the Cellar and got right in. I had a fresh fish special, Halibut with green beans and a cup of crab bisque. All very good! The boys had steak and fries, and they loved it! Free Parking is easy, and service is nice. It made our vacation extra special!

The restaurant was out of sweet potatoes and calamari. We had a 4pm seating. How are you out of food? The crab fingers were fresh frozen at best and had no flavor and the bone in 28 oz. Steak was 50% fat, 20% bone and the meat you could eat was chewy and gummy. My wife’s stuffed shrimp were so bad she took one bite.

Food was okay. We paid $15.50 for 1 crab cake that a piece of shell in it. Ordered a cheeseburger with bacon when it came had no cheese. Another 5 minutes to get that fixed. Asked for bread at first and it never came, asked again and received it after the meal came. Needed more ketchup it took asking twice and then receiving it 10 minutes later.

We enjoy dining at the Cellar. This experience could have been better. My steak was overcooked (I like it Medium Well) and the service was a little slow. The meal was expensive for what you receive.

Once sat down, our waitress left menus, and did not return until we waved her down. We waited for at least 15 minutes. There were very few tables around us with people seated. We ended up leaving, not wanting to have this service for the entire dinner.

The Copper Cellar Down Under never disappoints. Been dining there since it opened during my UT undergrad days. My one suggestion would be to add more sides and add French Onion soup to the menu.

We arrived at 6:00 on Thursday for dinner before attending a play at the Carousel. Our waiter was super! There were very few patrons at that time, so there was no noise whatsoever. The food was top-notch. We had a Marvelous experience.
