Sensational. Delicious food. The atmosphere felt relaxed and the views were amazing. Staff were friendly, helpful and catered for non drinkers. I was made a yummy mock tail. Even though I was in Hobart I felt like I could have been in Paris…that’s what a great atmosphere does.

Excellent service. Was very polite and patient with our elderly guest. We received 4 meals then waited a further 10 minutes for our senior guest to receive her main meal and my turkish bread. Couldn't taste anything else in my caesar salad due to the grilled chicken tasting like everything else that had been cooked on the grill that day. Everything ok. Nice environment and great service let down by poor food. It was mothers day.

Ordered 2 drinks at the same time as food but failed to receive. Restaurant was not busy. Asked a server if she could check on them which she said she would. After another 15 mins asked a second server who also failed to collect the drinks. Asked for them to be taken off the bill.

Great Vibe Affordable food Helpful staff Lots of space 5 stars but also casual area on level 4 There were 48 laughing seniors dining in that had belly-laughing turns but it was still comfortable I recommend to anyone wanting a quite lunch or brunch or romantic dinner I had Thai Asian squid in mint coriander salad Food is very reasonable but drinks are never cheap because once you have one you want more

Overpriced food with small servings. Steak was more expensive than the Ball and Chain, possibly the dearest in Hobart. No condiments, salad was small and mediocre. Wouldn’t go again for the food which was certainly nothing to rave about.

Cannot recommend the chicken club sandwich. It was very dry and tasteless. The special sauce was a bowl of tomato. My wife had the Caesar salad and it was quite nice.

We were a group of four meeting for drinks and lunch. We were able to sit out on the Deck and enjoy Hobart’s skyline with our drinks . Staff were friendly and obliging and let us enjoy our meals and conversation without feeing we had to move on or leave. Food was good and choice was great. Options of shared plates or mains. A great experience I’ll be back again.

I think the breakfast is geared more for guests because we ordered coffee's and after 45 mins had to go see if they were coming and they had no record of the order. But apart from that the food was as you would expect for a hotel full breakfast and outlook was great.

The outdoor music was very loud. Staff struggled to understand our requests. We had to repeat ourselves multiple times. We had a voucher to use, but it took lots of chats with various staff to find someone who knew how to process it. Food was nice. But we wanted pizzas and was told they'd run out.

We booked for a business lunch to try somewhere we had not eaten previously. The location is pleasant and the decor stylishly modern, however, the service was largely absent. After initially being seated and offered water, we then proceeded to order shared entrees and mains along with a bottle of wine. When our entrees were brought out, which included the mussells dish, there were no plates offered to enable us to share the food before us. When we asked the waitress politely for a couple of plates she appeared none to interested in assisting our request. Our bottle of wine was brought to us and poured and we asked for a refill of our water glasses. When our mains came out our entrees had still not been cleared creating a brief drama with where to put our mains plates. We then needed to ask another waiter for new cutlery and serviettes to replace those used and taken away with our entrees. That was the last that we saw or heard of any wait staff for the next two hours as my colleague and I sat and spoke. This lead us both to joke that we could walk out and no one would know who we were such was the level of anonymity and entirely absent service throughout the majority of our meal. When we did get up to pay and leave, we approached the bar counter and after waiting briefly we were greeted by a member of staff who offered to prepare our account before somewhat strangely walking away without any communication and leaving it to another staff member to print out our receipt and accept payment. Sadly I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone for whom table service or attentive service of any sort is a consideration.

We got seated and it took 20 minutes to have our drinks order taken. We then proceeded to wait an hour for our food for the server to come over asking if we were reading for desserts or would like another drink. We told them that we hadn't eaten yet - they lost our order. As someone who works in the industry I'm quite understanding as it they were the only front of house person, looking after seating, running, serving and bar. However, after an hour after ordering you should realise food hadn't gone out, especially when you are the one would would be running it. We got dessert on the house but didn't really make up for the poor service.

This is the 3rd time that I have had high tea at Core, what a disappointment! Booked for 12 noon arrived 5 minutes early and told that our group of 5 could sit at the triangle and wait, a female staff member came over at 12.10 and said "you are next, what name" after given the name she said "follow me", at out table she left, came back and poured sparkling, left brought our tiers after around 15 minutes. She did not speak or address us at any time, she came back with very small scones and asked "coffee or tea" 2 coffee and 2 tea, one of our party had gone to the bar and brought a soft drink which a different staff member who did speak was happy to bring to the table. The 2 coffee were cold, the tea was in round tea leaf holders, the staff member put the first one in and poured the boiling water, it broke open with tea leaves floating around the cup, she poured the boiling water into the second cup and walked off with the water pot (I was sure at the 2 previous occasions that the water was left so you could add more water), we were never offered sugar, milk was supplied. At 1.25pm she started clearing the table around us until it became uncomfortable being leaned over and we left. What a total shame, last time they asked if it was an occasion and wished them happy birthday. I felt like we were not welcome and not wanted. The food was tasty, not huge but good quality it was let down by what I could only describe as a hostile staff member. We were in good spirits on arrival to have a very happy high tea and as I had recommended this on my previous occasions I was totally disappointed and left totally deflated by the experience. I could not and will not recommend this experience to anyone in future.

It was ok. We all commented that there was a flavour element missing or off the mark in each dish, but overall it was ‘nice’. Service was great. We were not allowed to split the bill despite being able to on a previous occasion. We were mistakenly charged for an item that was then sorted out over the phone.

Presentation fine, we had to ask for cutlery as not on the table, we had to ask for a hot drink to go with the high tea. Waiter kept touching his nose, and appeared to have a cold.

Everything was below average. The staff wasn’t good trained or never trained at all. Food was like the sauce from a thin crushed tomatoes, just a pasta how can that go that tasteless. Even the cocktails wasn’t right. Disappointing experience.
