Cubano's by Mario

This place has a quirky elegance with fantastic food. We began with a mojito and a sangria, both excellent. Then surprised with a plate of beautiful, crispy plantain ribbons and chimichurri salsa. We ordered the lamb shank and the grouper with shrimp in garlic sauce, and was again surprised that this meal included a beautiful plated salad. All was excellent. Mario himself is very present in the operation, seen seating and greeting customers, making drinks, and tending to the staff. We had no room for dessert, but will make it back another time for that.

My experience at Mario’s was nothing short of service. He was able to take us last minute . He personally welcomed us into his establishment treated us with the upmost respect and his service was outstanding. We were on a date so they made it as romantic as they could with the candle light dinner . I’m soo glad I was able to experience coming here especially because it was last minute but it was the perfect moment for us !!

The experience at this restaurant was very weird. The people made us feel very uncomfortable. One tried to remove my son’s mask for him when he sat down.

They were pushy, and not suggestive, when we were ordering.

The service was not good. They left dirty dishes and emptied bottles on the table.

Potentially the worst meal of my life. I have used this app for several years and never left a review, but this meal deserves one. Our food took 2 hours to be delivered to us after multiple requests. When it came it was poorly prepared and bland. They apologized for the time it took and offered us drinks to which they continued to bring the wrong ones after 30 additional minutes. Our server was rude in a way i have never experienced in a restaurant and never really thought possible. This meal will go down as one of the most comedically horrible dining experiences of my life, with at least funny stories to take with us. : update is we found out that the menus they are giving people are now double priced, i encourage people to check the menu from 3 weeks ago versus now, offering the same dishes but for 20 dollars more.

Lovely European atmosphere with excellent service from the owner and all staff.

Great food and service. Mario’ stopped by to say hello. Love the ambiance. The bill was crazy confusing and frankly felt like we were charged for things we never ordered.

Had to wait 75 minutes. Waiters like to joke at your partners expense. Slow service. Since walking into the restaurant and leaving almost four hours.

Best carnitas dinner and mojito's I've ever had! Unfortunately our waiter forgot a few drink orders for our party of 7 and forgot to put in our appetizer order. The host was not wearing a mask the entire time we were having dinner and he also touched a couple of people in our group on their faces with his bare hands more than once! Gross! Get take out if you can.

Excellent food. Great customer service! I consider this restaurant A hidden Gem. It’s a great place to invite or to just have a family dinner or even a romantic dinner !

I'm not one to usually leave review, specially bad ones but our server was sooooo rude and aggressively short tempered with us when we tried to ask questions about the dishes such as the Mario platter with the 3 different meats. The meats were unimpressive, I had to drown it in Chimichurri sauce to make it stomachable. Mario was very nice when we arrived, welcomed us and shook our hand... but that is not proper behavior during these covid times but we felt obligated to shake hands then quickly went to the bathroom to wash our hands. The bill was shockingly higher than expected for 5 people, specially since we only ordered 4 entrees and I shared with my kid. I tried to take a look at the bill to see if there was a mistake but the writing was not legible and I did not feel comfortable asking the aggressively rude waiter any questions. We have no idea what we paid for but it was best to pay the bill, walk away without anymore attitude and just never come back. I've driven by a few times since and the place always seems dead and I now know why.

I don’t live in Florida just yet. However I travel there often and I never miss an opportunity to go to MARIOS CUBANO . Living in New York we have great restaurants. CUBANO is by far the best Cuban food I’ve ever had. Owner and staff are wonderful!!

Excellent experience! Always a treat when the person who the restaurant is named for welcomes you at the door, seats you, and checks on you during the meal.

We received a pencil written bill for 580.00 without much explanation. Our estimate was it was around 450.00 so we were confused, when we questioned the bill the owner took 500.00 off without much explanation. Food was good and the atmosphere was great just wish they could have more transparency on the check.

great food. the pork was fantastic. very cool atmosphere. looks like a lot of regulars come in. someone came out and helped us park since the parking was tight. cool chandeliers, not an extensive menu but something for every\one. the desert tray looked amazing but did not partake this time. I will next time though!

Great experience with Mario!! First class service

We just had the most amazing lunch at Cubano’s by Mario! First of all...Mario is adorable. And his food is amazing! We ordered NOTHING...and Mario brought us the most amazing food and mojitos and sangria! We had 2 kids with us and he brought “something” for them. So all in all, we had Marios's favorites, sangrias galore, and the most wonderful welcoming experience to South Florida. We will be back during this vacation!!!

Felt a little bombarded at first by the manager. Mojitos were OK but not worth $15 each for a basic mojito, not even a sugarcane skewer. Food was good, especially the vaca frita. Most likely will not go back.

We had a reservation for a large party. When we arrived our table was not ready and we had to wait. That's the only negative experience that we had. The service was friendly and fun. The food was delicious, and we were given a discount on our meal and a Mojito at no charge which was also delicious. We tried many different entrees. The favourites were the roast pork, and the Vaca Frita. The Cuban coffee at the end of the meal was also perfect.

Great experience dining here. The staff was very nice. Mario greeted us upon entry and was thanked us on the way out. Great food, great service. We will definitely be back.

Anniversary

Me and my girlfriend celebrated our first anniversary. The food was a bit overpriced but it made up with amazing customer service. Mario remembered it was our anniversary and gave us a complimentary cake and drinks. 9/10 would definitely come back.

The following review is not embellished. My mother, aunt and cousin and I found Mario’s on OpenTable and booked it. We were looking for Cuban food. We were so pleasantly surprised to be greeted by Mario at the door -made us feel welcome and special. Lively environment with chandeliers over each table, we were served with delicious complimentary plantains. We ordered dinner (came with flavorful salad). Our dinners were authentically prepared. A bowl of black beans for the table and rice and caramelized plantains. We were served amazing empanadas for the table with compliments of the chef. The staff and Mario couldn’t have been more generous! They gave is a complimentary dessert to share and even a bottle of wine to take home. The food is worth coming back for and the friendly staff.Definitely go to this restaurant!! We will be back!

The owner was super nice and accommodating

Extremely rushed! Some food was removed from the table before we finished it. Everything was very bland with no real taste. I’m not sure of the Florida Covid rules but tables are very close. We were very disappointed with the entire experience.

It was a great experience until Mario interacted with the customers and charged us for what seemed to be complimentary drinks and food.

This was our first time at Cubano's by Mario and it will not be our last. Everything from the beginning to the end was totally outstanding and we totally enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for a great evening!!

Mario greeted us with such a warm welcome and made us feel like he knew us forever. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious and fresh. The sangria is amazing! The ambiance makes you feel like you've traveled back in time to a romantic place in Cuba. A wonderful experience all around.
