Culina at COMO Dempsey
I was quite disappointed with the food. Chicken was below standard. Beef was tough. Cake was so so. We only like the fried squid and fries. Spaghetti was also so so
Excellent as always. Service staff Sarah and Jess were super attentive even when the restaurant filled up. The unflappable JP was his usual gracious and serene self greeting everyone whilst lending a helping hand to his co workers. Only wish that the portions were more generous, especially for the fish.
But need to improve on service level. Difficult to call waiter. Long wait for main course
My new favorite place to eat in Singapore.
Excellent for beef and seafood.
Loved it but I think some of service staff need to understand the food better
The ambience was great: the food was marvellous and there is a great selection to pick from. You can also pick your own fresh food and have them prepared your way or based on recommendation. The staff sang us a birthday song.
I have dined at Culina on every occasion that I have visited Singapore over the last few years. My wife and ate there on Tuesday prior to flying home to Sydney
On this occasion we both chose steaks from the display, they were cooked perfectly and the appetiser and deserts were excellent
We will be back, great providers and a great restaurant with a buzz
Kevin our waiter was so patient and kind in explaining the food items and types of sauces on the menu. He made the already amazing environment and dining experience even more memorable. The food was great, as usual. Thank you Kevin!
Food was great but service was very slow.
The crab cake was excellent but food took more than 40 minutes to arrive and then dessert took another half hour.
All is very nice, I miss a terrace from the old place. The food is overpriced, especially for lunch.
Nice new experience where one sees and select the steak for the dinner.
Lovely place with good food and kind and professional staff. Make sure to check out the Culina Market - they have nice stuff!
Great food and service again!
Excellent all round. JP, the manager, and our service staff, Sarah, were impeccable.
Pasta that I ordered was very bland. No taste at all.
All of the food ordered was fresh, hot and very good. We were very impressed with the excellent food.
Food was good. Kudos to Kevin for the attentive service.
Nice ambience for an afternoon catch up. Though the steak selection was kinda big cut.
I have been three times recently - once in the evening and twice for lunch. All three times I chose steak (Grain fed striploin) with some sides, wine and dessert with coffee. The first time (the dinner) the steak was excellent. The following two times sadly the steak was no where near as tasty as the dinner one; different chef maybe?
I also took home some of the veal schnitzels. Veal was great, bread crumbs sadly have some kind of herb in there which confuses the taste. Please just do them with plain bread crumbs as we can always add herbs to our taste when frying up at home!
Was extremely disappointed with the service staff and the attentiveness of ground staff. Would appreciate it they would extend some help to mothers with toddlers and pregnant ladies and be polite to customers when we ask questions about dining and seating. Love the interior and ambience , food was ok but the service huge let down
Moderate food and ambience. I think the restaurant was busy that day... service was moderate
The pork was undercooked. I specifically asked for the dressing in the salad to be put on the side but the salad was slathered in it. I can’t eat sugar so that was the reason for my request as most dressings tend to have sugar it them. I asked for my coffee to be served with unsweetened cream instead of milk and I was told to buy the cream from the retail section. I won’t go there in a hurry unless the service improves.
Improvement in space compared to previous venue. Not as close to neighbouring tables. But sound levels are loud and harsh. Have to speak loudly and can hear other conversations. Food is same as before - menu not updated. Rather boring.
The worst service I have ever had, I’m not even sure our server had read the menu, ever.
The new Culina location provides a much better size dining area inside and out.Decor is similar to COMO but suits this high-end restaurant. Service was excellent and we were advised on the drinks and food options. Food arrived really quickly even though there were a number of other diners. Quality of the food is suburb although this is reflected in the price but great for a treat!
The food was ok but pricy for such small portions.
Service was terrible!
The waiter was very rude and did not even try to understand what my Daughter wanted as she has dietary restrictions.
Great food and service!
Great service as we left our umbrella, yr staff clled me to check and reminded me that we left our umbrella behind. Thanks to the ldy in black and 'bob' length hair (sorry, didn't get her name).
As for food, it'll be good if can provide some greens for d steak at no extra cost, not just a tomato.
Had 2 meetings over the past 2 weeks. Love the ambiance and the decor. Casual, yet stylish. Great place for business lunch. Food is good.
This is my first time dining at their new premises. The environment is modern and trendy and the ambiance is really warm and inviting.
The food was really good - much, much better than when it was at the previous location. Portions are also bigger now.
Perhaps it's because they now have a much larger kitchen that is professionally fitted.
We noticed the space between tables are now much wider than before - which is great as it provides diners with a little more personal space and privacy.
The wait staff was absolutely fantastic. There was this particular guy who was ever-so attentive, warm and friendly. It's a pity I didn't get his name. He should be recognised for his exceptional customer service.
In short, a great place to dine with your family, friends and/or business associates.
Absolutely lovely experience.
Love the new interior; cozier and spacious! Food is as delicious but pricier!
Service was abysmal. Half my family’s meals were not served, and when we asked for them we were told they were on their way. This was clearly a lie as two more tables who arrived after us were served their meals first. When the rest of our meals arrived, they had just been cooked in a panic as they had clearly been forgotten. The crusted market fish was very unpleasant. It was a very very disappointing experience.
The restaurant setting is bright and had a refreshing feel to it, far better than what it was, when it was at it's previous location. On this occasion, the food, however, was unfortunately worse.
We just had 2 mains - Fish 'n' Chips and Bouillabaisse. The fish in the Fish 'n' Chips was fine, and the chips were great. However, the accompanying sauces were hardly enough and the SEVERAL times we'd asked for more, we were given small portion after small portion. Having to constantly ask for condiments detracted greatly from the dining experience, especially when little saucers were stacking up around the table. The Bouillabaisse, although tasty had every item of seafood (accept for the clams) overcooked! The fish was dry, the scallops were rubbery, the shrimps didn't even look nor did it taste very fresh, perhaps again, because it was all overcooked. In it's entirety, it should not have been served.
The dish was left unfinished. We were left disappointed.
Why was it so bad? I really don't know. Was the Bouillabaisse taken off the bill? No, it wasn't. Poor(!) was our first experience at this highly anticipated, newly re-opened restaurant.
Fish was over cooked and onion tart was too salty with zero balance of flavours - both anchovies and olives make for an overly salty taste . Very little onion considering it’s called an onion tart. Presentation was also poor .
The new set up is nice and the food was good but nothing amazing. I like the way you can choose your own wine from the fridges. Sadly the service was like the old Culina - not great but OK - we didn't get to the irritated level! All in all a good place to go for a bite to eat but nothing wow.
The move to the new bigger building..... not up to the past Culina
Atmosphere.. its white concrete walls
Cooking.. too many new chefs cook poorly
Service.. up in the air and all over the place..
Excellent food and service
I used to love the Culina at Block 8 and went frequently. This new space is amazingly big, but it felt cold and wasn't finished being decorated. There were a lot of big empty awkward spaces where a plant or pot or something would have made it warmer.
A big space doesn't have to feel cold, but this is the way it felt.
Horrible service. Terribly trained staff. There were plenty of staff around but after we got seated, no one bothered to give us a menu or offer a drink. Attempts to get their attention were futile as if we were transparent. After 30mins of waiting like a duck, we decided to leave. Extremely disappointed.
