Staff was friendly and accomodating. Food was outstanding from the bread, to the apps, to the main course. Desert was so-so. Great atmosphere
Lobster ravioli outstanding
Service was friendly and helpful
Excellent ambience and energetic staff
Eggnog martini was great
A must stop for tourists and a regular dining experience for locals.
Overall a very lovely experience. We loved the fact that we were not rushed through our meal but were still given appropriate attention. I had the duck and my husband had the filet. Both were prepared expertly. We both substituted the brussel sprouts (on the app menu) for the veggies originally listed and unfortunately they over powered the meal quite a bit-so I would suggest not doing that--but otherwise quite happy!
Delicioso! We had friends in from NYC and you even exceeded their expectations. Jake,
our waiter, was superb.
Went to see Christmas Tree lighting. Had a great dinner as we watched the tree lighting.
Our daughter flew in from San Francisco where she prides herself on being a wine and food aficionado and with our son we had dinner at David's. The ambiance was electric, the food was superb and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Great service and great food. We weren’t rushed, and we had a very enjoyable evening. Looking forward to the next opportunity to dine there.
Pros: service was excellent; garlic knots delicious!
Cons: jammed into a table that was too close to nearby tables. Everyone who walked by me bumped into my chair and it was rather annoying.
Food wasn’t memorable especially for the price (I had the tuna with soba noodles - not much flavor/spice except for the wasabi). I expected to be more “wowed” at $30+ entrees.
This was our first meal at David's since we moved to Portland and it was a fantastic experience! Everything was unique, from combinations of ingredients to presentation. Definitelt coming back!
Nice place to enjoy an upscale finner
This was our second visit to David’s and it was just as fabulous as the first time we went. The food is superb!
Unbelievable food and service. Will be back.
Nice venue, well presented food, we like that they have sound baffles in the ceiling
Amazing food. Our group kept gushing over how good everything was. A gem!
I have been dining at Davids' restaurants ever since he established himself in Portland. He, his cuisine and his associates never fail! This past Tuesday, I introduced a friend, who recently moved to the area, to David's of Monument Square... She as well was delighted. Thank you for another lovely and delicious dining experience.
Fabulous drinks and food and service as always!
I don't think I've ever had a negative experience at David's. We have gone numerous times there for dinner with friends or just as a couple and always had outstanding service and food.
Great service in the Bar area. Food was good and drinks were well prepared.
Sat at the window overlooking monument square. Windows were incredibly dirty with food splatter covering the inside. Not very appetizing.
Still would recommend this spot even though a bit overpriced.
Ian was great!
The food and service was amazing. They went above and beyond to make our dinner special.
Great restaurant, great food, great service. Will definitely go there again.
Everyone was wonderful from greeting us at the door, to wishing us a great night at the end. Our server was so attentive and personable. Food, drink and dessert were a beautiful taste for the senses. We will visit again when in Portland. It will be our first choice! Thank you!
What a great dining experience! They were so thoughtful to my friend and she thoroughly enjoyed her birthday, as a result!!
Many thanks to the whole team.
Ordered one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Seriously. I got a box for leftovers, and carried it to three bars before finishing it at home. Great service too. Highly recommend this place!
Had a great time! We sat at the counter by the kitchen and it was tight to get in and out but great spot to watch food prep and great server. We loved all the food and drinks - mussels, scallop skewers, salmon, and Oreo cheesecake. Would recommend!
We had been to David’s 388, and wanted to take friends to the original. Good food and service, and certainly quiet enough to enjoy conversation.
Food, service and atmosphere are five stars all the way around!
Our waiter was fantastic and thanks to him we all very much enjoyed our meals which were truly delicious. Great beers, too!
Portland was crazy busy on Nov 2 but they fit us in. Great food, wonderful service and fun ambiance. The brussel sprout appetizer was awesome, along with the spicy shrimp and very interesting flavors of the crab cake. Caesar salad was nice but very peppery. Mushroom ravioli were outstanding. Friendly but not pushy waiter to dealt well with our tapas style requests and brought all the snacks out in a great order. Those garlic knots are sinful! Thanks for a lovely birthday dinner.
Great Food! Really great service(Thanks Alicia)!
David is running a great place!
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Kim our server was amazing.
A group of 7 friends traveling out of town for a weds
Food was very good and the service was as well
Every one enjoyed it
Great choice in Portland
Lunch at David's Restaurant in Portland can’t be beat.
They offer a wonderful buffet along with a full menu.
The people are very friendly and service is great.
Great food, service, atmosphere and prices. Check it out for yourself.
Because it is a popular spot I do recommend making a reservation.
Great place. food was delicious.bread is awesome. recommend highly
It is a must stop when we are in the Portland area.
Anniversary dinner. It was perfect. Loved our waiter. No complaints
Great restaurant, open kitchen, nice decor and good menu. Some of the best mussels I’ve had. Very good pot stickers. I really enjoyed the shrimp and scallops skewer with risotto. I don’t love that every dish has an extra sauce or something, but that’s just me. I like things simple. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. One of the best things was the kids menu. It was full of REAL food which is hard to find. My daughter had steak, mashed potatoes and a large bowl of really nice fruit.
There were six of us and Everything was delicious, the crispy duck was was a little grisly-the other five entrees and two appetizers were excellent !
