Food/drinks were very good. Waiter was great, however, the other service staff often cleared our plates too soon (an arm was constantly reaching into our table to remove plates as soon as one of us appeared to have finished eating).
The Chophouse never disappoints! My husband and I come here several times a year. He almost always gets the Prime Rib with the White Cheddar Mashed potatoes. He is not a fan of mashed potatoes except for here. I've had almost everything on the menu at least once; everything has come out perfect and yummy!
The beers are phenomenal! Our servers have always been extremely knowledgeable regarding what is on the menu with respect to on tap as well as the wine list.
Highly recommend reservations, especially if there are 'events' in DC (such as a Caps game, Wizards, etc) since the Arena is just around the corner.
Dress is anything from business casual to 'dressy'. Keep in mind, due to the close proximity of the Arena, you'll see patrons coming in jerseys & jeans, which attests to the popularity and quality of the Chophouse.
My lamb, was excellent, but my partners New York strip steak was on the average. The wine list is quite reasonable. The restaurant is very nice on the inside oh, but what ruined that evening was our service. Our server was not good. She did not do well with the order, and she never came by to refill our wine. We had to refill it ourselves each time.
Great atmosphere. We were greeted at the door by a friendly hostess. We arrived about 30 minutes earlier than our reservation, and they accommodated us and seated us right away. Our Server Victoria was excellent. Prices were reasonable and food was delicious. The freshly prepared cornbread was amazing. Will be going again soon. Thank you District Chophouse!
We enjoyed our lunch and the area we were seated, the waitress however was not that personable and at times was a little rude and abnoxious. Everything else was excellent!
Excellent Service. Great staff and really great management.
Busy but great food& managers promised to service us better on the next visit, gave us a coupon
We have visited District Chophouse several times. Probably more than 10 times. We love the food. We had bad luck with waitress serving our table this time. It was like if we did not existed at the restaurant. We almost walked away to search another restaurant. Manager had to come to the table to see how he could fix the experience. We will return, but probably to sit and eat at the bar tables. You get better service there.
I had a great date for Valentine's Day. I had to switch reservations from another restaurant and so happy I was able to book this one. Definitely a great first time experience. Will be back.
Valentine’s Day celebration. Loved it!!!
A wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner with extra good service from Jose, our favorite waiter
Sat at bar and service was great. Bartenders were attentive and really friendly
While overall District Chophouse is a good experience, the dinner menu selection of items seems to have decreased. For example, crab cakes are no longer an entre choice.
Excellent food and good service in a lively vibrant atmosphere. Food is a little overpriced
We went prior to a hockey game and the server was aware of its start time and kept us on pace to get there in time without us feeling rushed.
Great experience, the wait staff was amazing, the meal met everyone's expectations. Best steak in DC.
We have been to the Chophouse many times and love it! While the food is not cheap, it is quality and well worth it. Service and food have always been outstanding, it never fails to deliver. The beer is great too. We go often before a Capitals hockey game and always find it to be enjoyable! I would recommend it to anyone!
Had a wonderful time. Especially enjoyed your beer sampler!
Great service. Beer was great and refreshing and distinctive. Food was excellent. My son had the filet. I had the halibut special. We both loved the Caesar salads and cornbread. A great ore-game dinner. Just a block from the arena !
Always great food. They were able to accommodate our large group. Wish they had a more entree options.
Enjoy my repeated experiences at DCH. Will return again soon.
Having come to the chop house for years, this was a real disappointment. Service was slow initially then too fast. We got our salads and apps with entrees coming 4 minutes later. There was no room on the table for it all so we had to had our half eaten salads back. The steak was tough and cold in the middle. We ordered sides that never came, then were charged for them after reminding the waiter twice that they had not come. Drinks also took a while. We all felt like they were just trying to turn tables. I asked for a manager but none ever came over.
Correna (SP?) was OUTSTANDING! She was friendly, responsive, efficient, provided EVERYTHING we asked for, in a timely fashion. We are "high maintenance" customers. She handled us with complete professionalism.
Next time we come to District Chophouse, we will name request her!
Thanks so much!
First time at the District Chophouse and won’t be the last time.
The food was great, the Bruins v the Capitals atmosphere was jovial, and our server, Victoria was awesome.
Great pre-Caps brunch option!
Great spot! Has become a regular stop heading to or from Caps games. Great apps, steaks & brunch options!
The Calamari was cooked to perfection and it was paired perfectly with a sweet Asian ginger dipping sauce. Our server was friendly, and took the time to get to know his customers. We come regularly to watch the Caps play. Another place we will be coming to visit more often!
I was honestly surprised by the low food quality given the price and location. My prime rib was chewy and dry and my son’s burger was over cooked. What’s more, the woman who seated us told me no booths were available or nearly available for our family of four. When I pointed out that multiple tables were being cleared she seemed put out by my request. I will not be coming back here any time soon.
Wonderful! Delicious food and fantastic service.
My guest and I had a wonderful time. The staff was fantastic, the food was fantastic! We all look forward to our next visit and will recommend the District Chophouse to all my friend, family and co-workers.
We were seated promptly. Our server was there immediately to get beverage orders while we looked at the menu. The menu had something for every taste. Food was served quickly and hot food was hot. All special requests were quickly satisfied. Food was well prepared and portions were good size. Group of 8 people for an office lunch; we were all pleased and will return.
WE had such a wonderful time at Chophouse. WE were greeted warmly by our server, Cee!! What a great man! HE suggested our wonderful cocktails and appetizers. The mule and Pimm drink as well as the Gin and Tonic...Cee suggested some scrumptious appetizers of Onion rings, Spinach and Artichoke dip and BBQ shrimp. The Onion rings were battered and fried perfectly. The spinach dip had the exact amount of garlic and the thicker pita bread was so warm. Veggies cut perfectly. The cut of prime rib was done to the wonderful rare. ...Loved every bite. We also had the porterhouse and equally as mouthwatering wonderful. Dessert was the creme brulee and Chocolate mousse cake. WE rolled out on a snowy evening both satisfied beyond belief. I will be doing a yelp review. Cee is a great asset to your restaurant. We loved talking to him. WIll be back again for sure!! Thank you!!
I ordered a ribeye. They gave me a Ny strip. I told the server who then asked the manager. They went into the back and "confirmed" it was a ribeye. I let it go as to not embarrass my date but I was essentially charged the highest price for a mid range steak which wasnt even the right size. Any person with half a brain and experience in cooking can tell the difference between these two cuts, let alone when something isnt even the right size. It was so clearly a strip steak it was laughable.
Idk how this mistake gets made at a steakhouse or if they were just trying to offload all the strips they had for restaurant week and knew they were bullshitting me, regardless I will actively tell people not to go here. Looks like a touristy spot anyway.
Took over 40 minutes to get our table but once we were seated the steak and service were both good.
Great place for a low fuss dinner - love that they have Jordan by the glass!
Meh....This time was lackluster. Indifferent, slow service. Hostess never even looked up to seat us, just at her iPad. The salad was limp and looked pre-made some time ago. Drink orders took quite some time to come. No steak knifes when entrees were delivered....had to wait several more minutes for that. The food was "fine", but the whole rhythm of the evening was off waiting for something that was needed for the meal.
Restaurant week introduced us to this new favorite. Warm lighting and comfy booths. Diverse menu with steak specialties and pairings. Service was courteous and consistent. Craft brewery adds an additional layer of goodness
Great service by Julianne. We were going to Wizards game at 8:00, got to Chop House at 7:15 and she had us out by game time! Great food and great service, close to Cap One Arena.
We went for restaurant week and the food was amazing!
We just had food off the appetizer menu, but it was decent. Cecily was great and took very good care of us..beautiful too
