Always extremely happy after dining here. They never seem to disappoint!
Not great food for price point. Would not go back.
The staff at Donetto really goes above and beyond to ensure their guests have a great experience. My wife and I have food allergies and the staff always produces exceptional service. On of our favorite restaurants in the ATL.
Changed menu for the better. Great wood fired oven pizza. Octopus very nice. This is a very good restaurant.
surprise Bday dinner, somewhat last minute. Service was prefect. The family style meal for a group of 8 was a fantastic value and the food was amazing. Parking was a bit of a nightmare but otherwise, Highly recommend.
Dinner with my mom who was in town visiting
Great dining experience for our first time at Donetto. We were with a party of six that started out with their delicious signature cocktails and appetizers (highly recommend the fried cheese balls). For the main course we enjoyed the scallop dish and the crab gnocchi dish - both delicious. The highlight was probably the dessert - especially the fried doughnuts and the chocolate mousse!
Would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again.
Food and service were both outstanding. We've been a few times now and the quality is consistently good. Highly recommend.
We tried both pasta and pizza while there and it was incredible, very good service as well! Can’t wait to return!
Great food and service. Restaurant was super cold.. we had to move outside. Great waiter very attentive
Very slow service- probably kitchen , not waitress.
The steak Florentine was definitely smaller than stated in the menu.
(Not big enough for 2 people). The manager acknowledged this and comped another steak to our table. Great customer service and all of our food was delicious! I had the scallops, my husband had the gnocchi .
We would come back!
Great wait staff. Food was excellent. I had the pork chop--very tender and tasty. This is our favorite place of our anniversary celebration. And the stuffed calamari w/chicken sausage appetizer --wow.
Regards, George Walker
Good experience for the most part. We enjoyed the ambiance. The food was just ok. Especially for the price. I would have expected a little more
The greeter as well as the waiter were great as for the food the spaghetti was great. caesar salad was disappointing .
We went to Donetto for my husband's birthday and had an AMAZING experience. The food was excellent, and the service was incredible! Emari took such amazing care of us!!! Thank you so much! We will definitely continue to trust this location with our special moments!
Always great food and service! It’s my”go to” place in the area when I’m taking friends and Co-workers out.
I was really looking forward to this meal. We ordered the Bolognese bucatini and specialty quail ripiena. We were pretty disappointed with the bolognese. It was much more tomato-based and less meaty/hearty than I ever thought it would be. The ripiena itself was well prepared but the whole dish, including the mushroom & quail jus sauce, was far too salty. Good service and ambiance, however it will be hard to justify paying for just good service and ambiance. I hope the restaurant stays open but I don’t think we will be back
Dominant flavor profile was "salty". Appetizers (most dishes, actually) were small. Octopus was overcooked and overpriced. Squid was well cooked but oddly presented. My dining companions liked the chicken. Service was friendly but not well organized.
Came to Donetto for Mother’s Day dinner - food was good but the delivery timing was awful. We waited a good 35-40 minutes after our appetizers until the mains arrived. However, Donetto is usually pretty decent on their service - hopefully it was just a one time incident!
Food what excellent and the service was outstanding. The waiter made excellent recommendations on appetizers and main courses.
Great experience overall. First time eating at this restaurant. I definitely will return! Delicious food & very knowledgeable staff!
Giving Donetto three stars instead of two because my first two visits for dinner were great. We recently went for Mother's Day brunch, and it's very clear that brunch is not their thing. When we were seated, everyone ordered coffee (it was French pressed and actually good thank god) and I ordered green tea. They ran out of green tea, and their order would be coming Tuesday. Ok, fine that happens, but on Mother's Day? They should've been fully stocked for brunch. One of us also ordered a virgin Bloody Mary because it was too early to drink alcohol. The drink didn't taste the slightest like a Bloody Mary, but rather a citrus juice with a splash of tomato water, yuck. When our server came to take our order, he explained that the kitchen doesn't make modifications to entrees. I understand this when the restaurant is crazy busy and the kitchen is pushing, but when someone asks for their steak and eggs to come with scramble instead of poached eggs when scrambled eggs are on the menu, you'd think that's fine right? Well, no. Not here. We could see into the kitchen, and they didn't seem that slammed so why didn't our server just ask chef? Instead, he went straight to the computer and sent our orders in. Oh well, the fellow diner went with something else (half the cost of the steak and eggs, mind you. Donetto's loss here).
There are some restaurants that put the customer first, and here, it seems like there is a culture of no coming from the kitchen. No, there's no jam in house for the bread served with brunch dishes. Not sure, I'll have to check on if there's butter. No, you can't have scrambled eggs when we're scrambling eggs in another pan on the same stove.
When 5/6 of the correct plates were placed at our table, we weren't shocked. The server brought an extra Cacio e Pepe scramble instead of an Egg in a Basket and said it was a special something from him (aka he or the kitchen messed up and tried to subdue the situation with this...didn't work). Despite the experien
I had the Capellini Nero, which was good. The olives were fantastic. However, we also had the calamari with sausage, which was just not good. I really tried to like it, but it was quite flavorless and it was one of the least interesting dishes I’ve had in quite some time. The service was pretty slow too...both at the bar and in the dining room. The restaurant is gorgeous, and the hosts were very friendly.
Not based on our most recent experience. We have probably dined at Donetto 10 times, alone, with friends, and with family. Our most recent dinner, was marred by poor, inattentive, and slow service. We had to ask twice for our entrees, and it seemed important to do so as they appeared to have forgotten to prepare them. A plate of lukewarm focaccia was offered as an apology. We were very disappointed and will move on to other West Midtown choices.
This was one of the best meals I have had in Atlanta. Everything from start to finish was excellent.
Another absolutely amazing meal. Start to finish felt like I was the most important person there. Beautifully plated, well balanced food. Did family style, best value. 3 courses of chef chosen options. Amazing variety. Service was on point. Could not have been happier. A must try for date night, celebration, group gathering, families. Pasta is unbelievable, all hand made in house. AMAZING
If you're looking for an excellent Italian meal, with a fantastic wine list, attentive service, and great ambiance, Donetto is the place.
My husband & I took his client & his client’s wife to dinner. We chose Donetto because it’s consistently one of our favorite spots & this meal was no exception!
Early in the dinner, our waitress, Destiny, accidentally knocked over my water glass, which then knocked over the wine that was decanting. The wine spilt all over the table & onto the lap of my husband’s client’s wife. Thankfully her napkin was there & it didn’t stain her clothes, but honestly, within seconds, every waiter/waitress/employee rushed over to help & one waitress even offered a Tide To Go Pen.
The entire staff, especially Destiny, handled the situation with grace. It wasn’t a big deal, at all, but everyone more than made up for it. We received an additional bottle of wine, another bottle of sparking water, & lots of free food. Everything was exceptional & the coursing was on point. Despite the hiccup, everyone had a fantastic evening & we will definitely be back!
Service was wonderful but restaurant was very cold and made the experience uncomfortable. Pasta dishes were both over salted and neither of us could eat more than a couple bites.
Sat at bar. Bartender was awesome and gave great Recommendations
It was off the charts good!! The service was exceptional and the wait staff and host took extra time in explaining each entree.
Definitely do the Chef's Choice. You won't be disappointed!!
Excellent service and food. Unique flavor combinations mixed with traditional Tuscan options. Everything was far above expectations
consecutive excellent dining experiences has made Donetto a must do restaurant in ATL. on top of amazing food, the great service by Jess and incredible generosity by the restaurant has put you as a favorite for italian.
A beautiful space but the cuisine does not qualify as Italian.
We ordered the grilled octopus which was served undercooked. We returned it to the kitchen and it came back undercooked! I suspect it was frozen and therefore could not be cooked evenly.
The Bolognese pasta was nicely presented but the flavor overwhelmed by the dollop of butter the Chef thought necessary to add to the dish —definitely not Italian.
The catch of the day was swordfish and oddly presented at the edge of the plate leaving a gaping empty space in the middle.
I can only surmise that perhaps the B team was running the kitchen when we visited. An unfortunate dining experience in a lovely space that I expected more from.
The service was phenomenal. Our server, Chloe, was probably one of the best servers I have had in a very long time! The food was outstanding. I would highly recommend Donetto.
Donetto’s was pretty hyped up so we were expecting an amazing meal. Some things were really good but others were just average and as a whole I didn’t feel it lived up to its hype. The bistecs fiorentina which was very hyped up, was overpriced at $95. The meat was good but not $95 good. Our favorite was the agnolotti. And the donuts for dessert. The ambiance is wonderful and service too.
Our server Marco was incredible. Will definitely go back and ask for him.
