Great food, great service, and perfect on the verandah on a nice sunny day
Excellent view from the balcony upstairs. Good food great service
Very ordinary meal considering the name and location. Meal sizes very small and platter was fairly ordinary. Lovely location but have had better seafood elsewhere at cheaper prices.
Not the Doyle’s my wife or I remember from 2003 and 2010. The food was average and not what we expected for the price and from such an iconic venue.
This was my wife’s Birthday, so a very special occasion and the staff at Doyle’s made us feel very special, we had a very nice table with a view, the food was great and the fish pie was outstanding, best I have ever had, can’t wait to return, well done to the Management and staff, thank you.
The food was lovely, it was just a shame that it was so windy, we were sat out the front.
a special place to have lunch beside the harbour--just great!!!
Went here for a 50th Birthday for myself and my family. I asked for a window table and got one outside next to the water - it was nice. Food was ok a glass of sparkling was $18 and no sprakling wines on their house list and there was 10% surcharge for weekends which was an extra $34 in our case. Whilst I declined to order a whole cake for a small party of 5 -as 3 of which don't eat cake, would have thought it would have been nice for restaurant to add some special touch to a milestone birthday booking. View amazing from a table next to the water , food ok , everything else flat.
Awesome venue good and company was great a little over priced but it was expected for seafood
Sydney’s best seafood restaurant always delivers. Great people, excellent food. Get on a ferry, and spend a sunset on the boardwalk. You won’t regret it.
Fish dry and over battered. Not what I remember about Doyles. 2 salads brought neither with serving spoons.
Good food great location friendly but stretched staff
Such a beautiful location, lovely food , generous servings. Great service Perfect on a summers day
We were seated in a lovely table with great views. Very windy from under the door. Waiter brought a glass of wine instead of a bottle and also brought 2 pcs garlic bread for 3 instead of 4. Asked if we wanted change when we paid cash. 😧. Food was great, service, slightly I need of training.
One of my favourite seafood restaurants in the world. Always fresh. Always well prepared. Friendly service. Relaxed atmosphere.
Doyles probably has the worst hot chips in Sydney. I really dont understand how the chips can be so bad when the restaurant is considered one of the best in Sydney.
Friendly service and fantastic wine selection. I booked a table for two to celebrate our anniversary. Doyle’s exceeded our expectations by placing us outside on the balcony, overlooking the sunset, so we could enjoy our scallops and Pinot Gris. Thank you Doyle’s for making our day so special.
Beautiful View and lovely ambience at 6.30pm until about 7.30pm and then a large family with 5 children arrived and were allowed to take over the dining room with screaming children. Steak meal arrived with half a plate of chips (too many) - steak was ok but a bit chewy and fatty.
One of my favorite restaurants
On Sat 3 October, we attended the restaurant to celebrate a significant birthday. On booking, we were informed there was a time limit of 1 1/2 hours. We wrongly assumed the service would be punchy and professional. We sat down in anticipation. It took about 15 minutes for our order to be taken and another 15 minutes for the entree to arrive.
After we were obviously finished the entree, it took another 10-15 minutes for the table to be cleared. Take note that it was not busy. Another 10 minutes before the main meal arrived. After that was cleared, the waitress asked if we wanted desert. We explained to her that we only had five minutes left as we had to vacate. She went away and came back to tell us that suddenly, we had another 15 minutes.
We expected a small cake to arrive for the birthday celebration but given the time constraint in spite of the sudden increase of time, we declined, paid the bill and left. We went for a walk and came back past the restaurant an hour later. We noticed the table was still vacant. We don't know why we were hurried through as it made no sense.
They missed out on coffees, desert and other things because they hurried through without any thought for us as guests.
The prices were very expensive, balanced against the lack of quality service.
Given our negative experience including the hurried push and lack of service, we could not recommend the restaurant to anyone. We certainly would not return. The day was ruined for us.
Probably one off the worst Seafood platters ever bought. For such an iconic place and restaurant extremely poor quality of food.
Is our regular lunch pad for special occasions. The seafood platter is over priced though for the size and fried food you get in comparison to the fresh.
Over priced but the view was amazing.
Right price would attract more.
I could not understand our waiter and he did not understand me. You need more fluent English speaking staff.
What a wonderful lunch to celebrate a special birthday. Great table for two right by the harbour.
Food is too salty overall..........................
Wonderful seafood at a reasonable price. Outstanding outlook. We will return
Fantastic staff, beautiful view. Had a wonderful time.
The weather on the day wasn't great but the food and the service were excellent.
Not as good as the last time we went a few years ago
I hadn’t been to Doyles on the beach in a long time and only went because of a voucher I had.
The food was well below average and VERY pricey even by Sydney standards
The garlic prawns were not fresh
The fish pie was just slop with a pasty covering.
A $52 steak - that could be ordered in any pub for $15.
I will be back but only for their takeaway @warf it’s a beautiful area to enjoy outdoor dining.
We visit Doyle’s every time we are in Sydney. It never lets us down.
Excellent Seafood platter, I would highly recommend.
Lovely attentive staff, wonderful view.
Beautiful night out, thank you Doyle’s 😍
Always outstanding dining experience. Never had a bad meal.
Seafood was fresh and cooked to perfection. A great compliment to the view across the harbour to the city.
Amazing service, food and location. Can not fault anything.
Had the seafood platter and was not disappointed, it was cooked to perfection! An absolutely beautiful venue with views across the sea to the city . Also great to see a restaurant abiding by covid distancing 👏👏
I love this place. Great venue. Especially now with less people - it felt like home. The service was good, but the waitress made a little too much chit chat - I like to eat quietly or talking amongst friends. That said, she was nice and I'm probably too passionate about food. As far as a nice place to eat seafood in Sydney goes, this is my favourite.
Food was nice. Venue is dated and not very nice ambiance, no music and lacking personality. The staff weren't very enthusiastic either.
Seafood platter for 2 was great.
The amount was plenty for 2 & the quality was amazing.
A fantastic spot for long Sunday lunch, we sat outdoors and it was perfect
