1. Inside temperature was too cold for comfort. With a georgious spring evening, not sure why it should be freezing inside 2. All the items in the menu were fried or consumed too much oil. Came to savor the vegetarian and plant based options and was disappointed

It is a lovely restaurant with thoughtful food and nice ambience. But the service has definitely gone down since pre-Covid. It was a vibrant place with attentive service that was fitting for a fine-dining establishment. But the last couple of times we were there we feel like the staff were not properly trained. My husband and I were there for Sunday brunch and we had to wait for half an hour between our salad and the frittata. We had to flag down the waiter to get our drink order in. I so want this restaurant to thrive since there aren’t many vegan fine-dining in our area and I really want to support them. Please do better and we will continue to patronize. ❤️

Father’s Day brunch. We hadn’t realized that brunch was only the vegan tasting menu, but it was terrific. Good variety. The curried cauliflower was to die for. Also the berry pancakes. Faux egg dish very tasty — would never have guessed it was an egg substitute. Excellent salads and fun yellow tomato gazpacho. Desserts were the only disappointment; they were very dry. Service attentive to start, then the waiters just disappeared. We almost had to beg for our check — kind of ironic after the Open Table reminders all week that our reservation was for only 90 minutes. Instead, we were there for 2.5 hrs! We will definitely return.

We entered the restaurant and it was beautiful. We approached the hostess and informed her that we had a reservation for 2 at whatever specific time. She confirmed that reservation and then proceeded to take us to our table. We were the only black people in the restaurant at the time. Clearly that’s always going to be something that’s noticeable. The hostess attempted to take us to a dark and secluded booth in the back with no one around. I stated no, I would like a better table. She acted as if she had no table available in the room with the most lighting (and where other people were actually sitting). I remained gracefully adamant on what I wanted and deserved. We then were finally escorted to a better table in the room where the remaining civilians were. I’m sure you know where I’m headed with this. I don’t want to say the establishment is a racist one but we were discriminated against. That was my only issue. The food was amazing as I am vegan and the view (when we finally got it) was beautiful.

Over Memorial Day Sat night. Quiet evening. We were grateful to be able to eat outdoors. Very professional service! Fine drinks including my apricot-vodka concoction. Octopus, risotto spheres, asparagus salad, all terrific. Fried artichokes were just OK; some thought too salty, all agreed they were mushy and overdone. Scallops we’re fine; ditto the Wagyu beef. We enjoyed our dinner and our evening out. We’re locals who hadn’t been for awhile. We will surely be back!

Equinox is usually very quiet, and the reason we chose to go there. However this night there was a party of some sort in the front part of the restaurant and it was very loud. Conversation was difficult. Food flavors were excellent, however it arrived barely warm. Would prefer paper menus vs scanning QR code. This trip was a bit disappointing; not the usual pleasant evening.

The ambience and the service of this restaurant is good. The only complaint I have about that is the restaurant can get quite loud because there are a lot of people seated in a small area. The food is absolutely nowhere near worth the price. I cannot believe how under seasoned and underwhelming the food was in general. Even the presentation should’ve been better. Moreover, the food for the tasting menu needs to come out consistently. My party waited 5-15 minutes for each course to arrive after the next. The range shouldn’t be so wide. With tip, the bill was $320. I could have a true fine dining experience in San Francisco or New York City for the same price or less. I will not come back, nor recommend this restaurant.

Went for Mother's Day Brunch. Pre-fix 8 course plant based brunch. It was worth it. Very happy with the courses. Pancakes with the vanilla cream was bomb. The pasta with asparagus so good. Everything was nicely done. The waiter was nice and they made a complimentary cocktails for Mother's Day. Keep up the good work with a plant based brunch. I will be back.

Went for Mother’s Day, as this is the third year in a row we’ve made it our tradition. The qr coded menu on the table and also the menu online were misleading, as there were two courses listed that we did not get served. We intentionally did not finish the 4th and 5th courses thinking two more courses were going to be served (a pasta dish and curry dish), but the server just brought out dessert that finished the meal. The complimentary cocktails and extra to-go bagged dessert for my mom was a nice touch. Nonetheless everything was delicious, and we love supporting the best vegan restaurant in the city!

This was our first visit and it won't be our last. Chef Todd is very personable and the food was amazing. Even the non-vegans loved everything! The staff is very attentive and friendly. We now know why so many people love Equinox! Can't wait to go, again!

My boyfriend and I visited DC and chose this as our "fancy" date night. This was our least favorite dining experience, and the most expensive by far. We chose the 5 course meal and our first two courses came out before we received our drink. They did tell us that the normal bartender was out because of an injury so there was someone new. We were both understanding about this, as we have worked in food service. My main complaint was the lack of communication with the waiter. When you pay $300 for dinner, you expect exceptional service, and it was far from that. The asparagus soup and the octopus were excellent, and the other courses were fine, but nothing special. We enjoyed our more casual dining experiences much more than Equinox.

Food was great, but service was very very slow. With a reservation waited half and hour to be seated, waited 15 minutes to order drinks, another 15 minutes to order food was there 2.5 hours for a 3 course dinner. Its not somewhere I'd go back. Nothing really sets it apart from other places.

Didier did a great job as our server—from adjusting the outdoor heating lamp to recommending entrees. We long have been fans of Mr. and Mrs. Gray. Very happy Equinox has survived the recent hard times and is as good as ever!

Reunion with college classmates here in DC was extra special because of our delicious meal and excellent service at Equinox. We had people with allergies and those who requested adjustments to the menu, and wait staff and chefs did an expert job assisting to address those needs. We were very appreciative.

We walked in and waited 15 mins to be seated. The servers were very nice but not attentive. We had to open and pour our wine as we almost finished our corse while we waited for the server to come over. The last course of our tasting menu was listed as short ribs, what arrived was a much tougher type of beef. When the server finally came over and we asked he said it was sirloin. He never took the time to let us know before he served it and wouldn’t have if we did not question it. I will not go back.

Our recent dining experience at Equinox was quite the mixed bag. We found that the food was pretty good. The service leaves a lot to be desired. There were lots of employees on the restaurant floor, but the service was SLOW at best. Our dining experience lasted 2 and 1/2 hours for an appetizer, entree and dessert. Most of that was due to slow service; maybe the kitchen was slow??? The restaurant is extremely expensive for what you get and for the overall dining experience. For example, the soft shell crab entree special ended up being $55!!!!! Shame on me for not asking the price when I ordered. The wine list is very limited and on the $75 and higher per bottle range. Lastly, the restaurant needs a facelift. The ambience is very tired and old looking. For the prices that they're charging it should be much nicer. I don't think we'll be going back any time soon.

After a long convention day we looked online to find a nice dining experience near the White House. We had a drink at the Hay Adams and walked three minutes around the corner to equinox. It was quiet beautifully lit, and delicious. Waiter was fantastic. Highly recommend.

It was the perect spot for an dinner after a full day of walking around DC. The asparagus salad was creative and delicious and the canneloni was wonderful.
