   The service was excellent, with all the staff being very attentive to our needs. They manage to capture the quality of fine dining, while creating a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It's great value for money with large and tasty portions for the whole family. The icing on the cake was the fact the chef made a special dairy free mash to accommodate my 5 year olds allergy. It was a really nice touch that she really loved.

   Really lovely meal and service was very good, only thing I would comment on was lack of vegetarian options as I’m not a vegan. I had macaroni cheese which was ordered specifically for me so appreciated that.

   We have used restaurant many times and usually very satisfactory visit.I booked table for mothers day lunch at only time available 11.45.On arrival they were advised still on breakfast until 12.1 of party happy to have a breakfast and other 2 waiting for lunch.this was not acceptable can't mix which I find strange.they were reminded twice that table was due back in 2 hours. Slightly disappointing for regular clients.food as usual they said fine and waitress very pleasant.

   We visited Fennel for a Birthday Lunch and the food and service was great Well looked after and a nice touch when they brought out a Happy Birthday Decorated Plate with white chocolate fudge and of course a candle. I asked for a reduced portion of fries as i am diabetic and when served they even told me the weight of portion for carb counting. Impressed!! Would highly recommend

    Absolutely delicious Sunday roast with family. Service was inconsistent - originally very informative, friendly and attentive, but after eating our mains, no-one seemed interested in whether we wanted pudding, coffees, or more drinks, so when we eventually caught someone's attention, we got the bill, left and went to Barr Berries for coffee and cakes instead.

    Managed to get booked at the very last minute, unusual for Fennels, it’s very popular and deservedly so. Food and atmosphere always good and lovely staff. Our favourite restaurant locally.

    We booked a table to celebrate our friend's 86th birthday. Everything was fantastic! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! We visited the location before, so we knew we'll have a good experience.

    Stay away from the steak! Poor, small and not good quality yet extremely expensive! Been here before and it was lovely and so was this time except the steak. The service was great and the staff lovely but their choice of meat supplier is not great no matter what they say! I have had many rib eye steaks and this one was the worst I've had, nothing like a rib eye from my local butchers

    Fantastic 3 course dinner for 2 a la carte. Wine by the glass or bottle, plus beer and alcohol-free if you're driving. Speaking of which, car park just opposite couldn't be more convenient. Been to Fennel a few times over the years, and never come away disappointed.

    We had a Wednesday date night voucher to use against our food bill. So not only did we get fantastic food we also had a fabulous discount off. My husband had the gf burger and also my friend who is also celiac, she commented on the brioche buns they used , saying they were one of the best she had ever tasted for being gf, i had the filo oarcel which was very tasty, once again a lovely meal, in lively surroundings. And the staff at Fennal are always welcoming friendly and knowledgeable.

    We had the most amazing meal here last night. The quality of the main courses were out of this world. Full of flavour and just delicious. The service was amazing. The desserts let the whole experience down but because of the quality of the main courses I would still rate 5 stars 🌟 I eat gluten free and the poached pear for dessert could have had some improvements, ie gluten free oats and gluten free shortbread , I only got pear and cream so I thought this was rather expensive for what I got but all In all would definitely recommend

    A lovely meal for my birthday. Staff were attentive. Atmosphere was quiet yet busy at the same time. You didn't feel you were competing for conversation to be heard. A nice touch getting a birthday fudge plate. My duck was outstanding and partners hotpot was melt in the mouth. I finished with the pear cranachan. Overall great. Will be back
