Loved it! Food excellent, great atmosphere, central location.
Great food and service; great area of Liverpool. Enjoyed every moment
This was really busy bar on a packed day, but the staff were incredibly attentive, friendly and fun. Food was also top notch - one of the tastiest burgers I’ve had in ages. Would go again.
On the surface, the location and Open table reviews suggest a great start to the evening on one of the main streets of Liverpool.
However, it became quickly apparent we may have made a mistake, as we walked through a food area with most plates half full, but forks and knives together.
Seated on a crooked chair, the best part of the evening arrived. A nice and knowledgeable waitress who was able to guide us a through a highly unusual menu system that consisted of filling out a form and was vaguely reminiscent of sitting a school exam. We inevitably went for the steak, due to the otherwise unappetising selection and an already dry mouth from the suggestions. We order 2 cocktails to begin the evening and a honey sausage starter.
The starter was, as expected, salty and sweet. A solid 2.5 out of 5. Aggressively average you would say. The cocktails, however were very good. The mixologist being the highlight of the show.
The mains arrived swiftly, and cooked to the medium rare standard we requested. Surprising, although cooked to the right style, the steak itself was extremely burnt. We were struck at how this was possible. Working our way through 40% of the steak, we had to give in. The rest of the dish was unremarkable.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a quick bite to eat, with cost and flavour not being important, I would recommend sliding in for the cocktails and some starters. If you are looking for value for money and a decent feed or evening out, go elsewhere.
Very friendly lively atmosphere, there was noise all around that added to the overall ambiance, but it did not stop pleasant conversation.
The service was attentive and efficient without being obtrusive to the whole experience.
Food service was good and the food lived up to the pictures on the web site, very good food, well presented with excellent tastes.
All in all a wonderful experience and one I would return to again.
Food lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good value for money.
Good location, good food, would have liked a few vegetables with kids meal and it would have been nice to visit the club next door.
Great location and vibe - the service was painfully slow though! When they arrived the food and drinks were good and the staff very friendly but just a bit disorganised and slow .
Lovely food, quick service. Really nice place in a great location. Would definitely return. Thank you!
We travelled to Liverpool for the weekend and was really excited about coming to Festival Food. The service was terrible. We waited over 20 minutes for our drinks order to be taken then another 10 for food order to be taken. Our starters then arrived before our drinks had even arrived I had to ask on 3 separate occasions where our drinks were. Then after our starters the waitress asked if we would like our mains, I said about our drinks again. The drinks eventually came then our mains. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for someone to come with dessert menu. When we were paying the bill the waitress asked if everything was OK to which I responded no, she didn't seem to care and just took our money. Very disappointed with our experience here. It wasn't even busy.
Service charge bro!!!
Really relaxed atmosphere and lighting. Very friendly staff and most helpful to all our requests. Starter and main meal outstanding and hot when bought to our table. We were not rushed between courses. Waitress checking that we were all okay and our meal was okay. Would most definetly recommend to others and hope to return soon.
Lovely staff, really nice food too
Pre lock down this place was amazing that's why we revisited. It wasn't busy like I expected. We were phoned approx 1hr before arrival to say no cocktails available due to issue with ice machine. The cocktails normally are good. The menu was concise. We shared chicken wings .the waiter dashed off no plates napkins or cutlery so had to call another waiter over to ask. The mains took a while.the chicken and sausage skewer arrived told it was very hot to touch but wasnt so the food was cooling and looked mediocre for £17. I had scouse which I love and although tasty could have been bit hotter.after stirring it it was OK to eat without making a fuss. We did mention it to the waiter at end of meal. We were offered free drink but already had drinks and was leaving anyway. I am glad they have reopened and making a go of it in spite of difficult times but not up to usual high standard
Food very good. Staf were friendly although seemed under staffed.
The food was very good value. We thought the table service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
beautiful meal for our Anniversary
Really friendly and accommodating staff, great cocktails and simple food but done really well. Great location, cavern club opposite.
All was good - the place had a good vibe, the staff were attentive but not in your face & drinks were good as was the food. My grumble is we were on a table just as you came in the door. That’s not the best place to be sitting at any time, but on a windy wet night with cold air coming in every time the door was opened, it meant not only were we cold but our food was too. I appreciate with restrictions in place tables had to be distanced, however I feel this one was not positioned well for whoever was sat there.
We booked this as a last minute and we are so glad we did! We loved everything about Festival! The music, the food, the drinks, the staff were lovely and attentive and it was so clean and beautifully decorated! We will be back, thank you!
Great atmosphere great food and service and well worth a visit 😀👍
What a fantastic meal, both mine and husbands meal was delicious.. The service matched the quality of food, would recommend to all..
Thank you for a great experience
It was really nice food and great hospitality but I wasn’t told about the service charge (tips) until after paid. I wish we were told.
Food was fantastic. Staff very friendly and chatty. Liked the covid style menu you complete yourself, prefer this to ordering on an app. Highly recommend. Good drinks prices also
Excellent service and excellent food. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Was impressed with the food and attentive staff. Glad we made our booking ahead of time.
Lovely food, attentive staff, great venue. Will definitely be back.
Amazing day! Booked in advance and service was spot on!
Dinner and drinks were unreal and the staff were so nice and couldn’t do enough for you
Great vibe and lovely staff food was fantastic but quite expensive
Friendly and prompt service, food was of a good quality.
We were reallly looking forward to this but unfortunately the food was very bland, I really don't mind paying money for good but was very let down.
The main had 4 pieces of chicken and 2 pieces of sausage for £17.95 the one piece of chicken tasted very strange had to send back could not eat any more . My son has steak hanger very average for the money.
Friendly staff, brilliant food and cocktails - will deffo be going back! Really nice vibe and excellent location to carry on to bars afterwards!
The food was nice but a bit expensive for burger and chips
Food was lovely, live music from Sgt Pepper bar, sun was shining, great day
Exceedingly enjoyable. Lovely staff, very attentive. Good food, very large portions! We sat outside, which was great. Live band in a nearby venue. Lively busy street, opposite Cavern Club. Car parks only a short walk away.
The only criticism I have is that my wife only wanted a small meal, so she had a children's meal and it was very dry. I would not recommend the childs menu.
We had a fantastic server - Marie. Friendly, helpful, obviously Interested in our well being and whether we’d enjoyed the food. My friend is a vegan and said the veggie lasagne (suitable for vegans) was the best thing ever. Really recommend this place.
The lady that served us was absolutely brilliant and couldn't do more. There was an issue about our food being late but she sorted it and overall had a lovely meal.
Great food and atmosphere plus ree admission to the Csvern Club.
