Fin & Brew
Wonderful seafood dishes and amazing water view
Great view and great food , service was little slow . Will be back in warmer months to sit outside and enjoy raw bar and cocktails
Everything was delicious start to finish. The bartenders were friendly, the chef came out to check on us. Highly recommend the mussels, shrimp cocktail and any cocktail on the list. Can’t wait to go back
We had an amazing dinner. The food from the appetizers to the main courses were wonderful. Delicious, generous! And the service was above and beyond! Our waitress Kerry was the best! Fun, great suggestions, really all around great.
A very good local restaurant with a very nice, casual atmosphere, consistantly very good food and typically good service. Not so much on the service this go-around. Our server was snippy', and actually caught herself at one point getting rude with one of our friends..
She was very unattentive, served my broth with no spoon than disappeared for 20 minutes. Everyone has a bad night and we will write this one off on her behalf. Unfortunately is was not a good first impression for our guests and they will likely not be returning here nor recommending the restaurant to others.
Great atmosphere and ambience but not too kid friendly .
Excellent fresh imaginative food
Great venue food was enjoying but way too small for what they charge
When visiting the area over Presidents Day Weekend, my friend's mother wanted to bring us to Fin & Brew. She has been before, and has some favorite items on the menu, so we made a reservation for Sunday night (the 16th). Unfortunately, when we sat down, we were presented with a Valentine's Weekend, five course menu - not what we had in mind. We were assured that we could order whatever we wanted off that menu, we don't need to order five courses, but that the portions are smaller. Since the items we were anticipating were not there, we decided to leave, and may return another time.
Having worked in the service industry, we know that restaurants often offer a special (and more expensive) menu for certain holidays like New Year's and Valentine's, so if we had gone on Friday the 14th, we wouldn't have been surprised or disappointed. When seated, we were told they "wanted this special menu to be available for those who couldn't make it out on Valentines Day." Being expected to pay out for a Valentines special two days later is a bit much.
Maybe we would've been made aware of the change if we had reserved by phone - I hope so. I can't comment on the quality of the food, which I've heard is very good, but this business and marketing approach didn't sit well with us.
I was very excited to bring my family there. However, we were presented with the Valentines Day menu even though it was 2 days past Valentines Day. This menu had very unappealing selections at a cost of $65 per person. A 4-course dinner that didn’t include a salad? The first course was hummus. Just hummus. We did not even have the option of ordering off the regular dinner menu. We did not stay. So extremely disappointing!!! Not sure I’ll try again.
Terrible choice of music and much too loud. We asked the waiter to lower the volume. He promised to do so but did not. It got worse when a loud wedding began in the adjacent room. This was not made known to us when we made our reservation. It was positively maddening listening to loud music from two sources while trying to converse with loved ones.
Not a bad meal, but overpriced for the quality. Would go again, but not for an event prix fixe menu.
A bit cold wind was blowing in from down stairs. Lighting was too dark / couldn’t read the menus nor see the food I was about to enjoy
Was great!! We got there early and were sorted right away, we had our baby with us, they were kind enough to seat us by the window, awesome view .. food was good, creative and well seasoned. Ambiance was great, friendly service.
The food is amazing. Great raw bar. Steak is cooked to perfection. They also have great wine pairings for any kind of entre. Highly recommend this place.
Had heard about this place from friends and it took us way too long to check it out! Everything was phenomenal, will definitely be back often!
Wonderful environment, friendly staff but most importantly the food is amazing.
It really did not live up to the 4 1/2 stars that peaked my interest to go there.
This was our third time at fun however, we did leave wanting more and debated stopping somewhere on the way home for a quick bit to fill our stomachs! All in all, not worth the almost $200 bill we paid. If we go back in the summer, hopefully we’ll have a better experience. Sitting outside on the deck is quite nice in warm weather, so there’s that.
There were four of us in our party and while each ordered a different item from the menu, we all reported a heavy "smoky flavor" to our food. We all felt the food was fair, to goo, but thought it was odd that everything had that "smoky flavor." Our waiter (whose name escapes me, sorry) was very good, and came to our table many, many times to make sure we were comfortable. Both the bar and the duding room could use some sound muffling, such as rugs on the floor. That has always been the problem in the dining room, no matter what restaurant it is, or has been. Oh! And fix the elevator.
It was a perfect first seven fishes vigil.
We closed the place with a lovely conversation with Chef Mike.
Will definitely return.
We were fortunate to stumble across the Christmas Eve feast of seven fishes meal. The menu, preparation and presentation were outstanding. Unfortunately the service was not the same quality. While everyone was extremely nice, the wait staff was simply not knowledgeable. When you are serving a single dinner menu, I feel like the servers should know at least the basics of what they are serving. The small crowd was a little disappointing for us and I'm sure for the restaurant as well.
For our second year in a row, we had our Feast of 7 Fishes at Fin & Brew. The meal and wine pairing was absolutely perfect. A truly gourmet experience at a fantastic location. My wife and I are both foodies and agree this was on of our more memorable meals anywhere.
Thanks to the Chef and his team for a great Christmas Eve dinner.
Chef Mike was full of pride in his dishes and was great about explaining everything to our party of 9. The bartender was equally happy to share the drink menu with us. The brussel sprouts are NOT to be missed (order several:)
Fin and Brew is a very good place, but it more suited for the warmer months where you can take advantage of the outdoor patios and beer garden and the Hudson River. In the winter the seating is very awkward. Although the food is very good its very overpriced for what it is a pub with a nice setting.
Definitely a go to spot for dining on the water.
Most incredible fish and seafood preparations.........so yum.
Very caring chef owner.
I recommend it for spring, summer, fall seasons only.
The place to go if you appreciate good food! Creative and delicious...
My family and I went there for brunch and the food was amazing, my husband loved the pancakes with the apple and coconut, the mimosas were perfect!! Amazing view and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Afterwards we played games downstairs with our 11 year old daughter who loved it as well.
This is fine place for a casual night out with friends. We were here in mid-November when the weather was extremely cold. I can this spot on a nice spring/summer/fall evening, eating outdoors along the river. The ambiance indoors is supercasual/industiral. The noise level, even in the separate dining room, is on the loud side. The food is OK, period. The flathead trout was on the rare side; perhaps we should have specified more medium. It was served with tasty gnocchi on the side, though not very many. I had a shrimp appetizer which was about as good as you can make out of Cosco frozen shrimp. Not really bad or anything, but not memorable. My partner had the farmer's salad, which also was on the plain, simple side with not much to recommend it. We were there for restaurant week, and the ice cream for desert was good. Our server was really excellent. She was really busy but always seemed to notice everything on the table, asked several times asking if our food was ok. The people who served the actual dishes were efficient and professional and the good came out promptly. This is not a place for fine cuisine but it's worth three stars -- "good".
restaurant had no heat!! So we left
Great food, service and location. A catered affair in the next room was loud and detracted from our experience. They need some sound proofing or better attention to seating arrangements.
Both the food and beer were very good and it is a beautiful, cozy space. Our octopus appetizer was overcooked but bone marrow appetizer and the skirt steak main were exceptional. Our server was very pleasant and competent, but the restaurant is large and understaffed. It looked like there were only two actual waiters working on the night we went. Will definitely return to check out brunch.
Love Fin & Brew. Always great. The noise level was very high due to a bar mitzvah. I would prefer to go when a loud party is not going on. Otherwise you guys rock.
The food was excellent and the beer was great. We will be back.
went for restaurant week $ 32.95 for 3 courses the food was very good, nice ambiance, the regular menu is pricey so probably will not go back.
Food is always delicious!
the food was good but a bit overpriced, service very good, nice view of Hudson and marina by the windows, not very noisy when we went ,but the restaurant was less than half full, the menu was also limited in it's offerings.
Limited menu and very loud with a wedding going on. Very pricey for the value
A wonderful experience. The staff was so friendly. Chef Mike and Chef Kevin came out to talk to us. Food was so well prepared and delicious!!
We waited so long to get our dinners (in a half-empty restaurant as the time continued to pass) that we eventually walked out. Used to be a favorite, even though the service was always dicey. Now, they've lost us completely. They're in over their heads.
