Firebirds Wood Fired Grill - Gaithersburg
Jenny provided great service.
Excellent Prime Rib, but get there early because they do run out sometimes. Also - Love the Salmon Salad with lime vinaigrette dressing.
Big Daddy chocolate cake is the best ever! Food is always fresh and delicious. Service is always courteous and prompt. A bit pricey, but worth it!
Service was bordering on poor. Very slow. Food was ordinary at best. Very disappointing
We are not from the area and discovered the restaurant by chance. We were glad we did.
It was OK. My 14oz rib eye was smaller than my son 's 9 oz filet. Medium rare turned into well. Rings were great, I ll give them a 2nd chance.
The food was good, except that the tenderloin I ordered medium rare was decidedly fully rare in the tenderloin salad. It's rather noisy for my taste and the food is on the expensive side. It's designed for people who drink with their meals, and we didn't.
Firebird's is always a good choice for lunch. The salmon, meatloaf, salads and any of the burgers are a good choice.
We have been to Firebirds several times within the past year. We have always been totally happy with our dining experience. Not so this time. Our waiter, though very nice, failed to get the order of one member of our dining party. Several salads were not served or were the wrong salads. The people who ordered meat loaf or steak were very happy with their food (4 of the 6), but the two of us who ordered chicken found our meat to be dry & overcooked. I ordered the green beans with spiced pecans as a side dish but found only a miniscule amount of pecans. A manager came to ask if our meal & service had been fabulous. When I told him about the dry chicken & the missed order he said we should have let him know earlier. He did not offer us anything to compensate for the lapses we experienced. Based on this visit I would not return but because of the prior good experiences we will give them another chance.
I went to Firebirds with a friend on Saturday night. Kenny was our waiter. He was awesome!! The food was delicious. My only negative would be that I ordered Black Diamond martini and it didn't have anything in it. I was told it was infused vodka, but it was frothy and I spent $21 on two of them and there was no effect from the alcohol. It was a yummy drink. It's just that when you spend $10.50 on a drink , you hope that it has something in it. After our meal, I ordered carry-out from the bar. Unfortunately, my carryout order wasn't correct, but it was still good. We will definitely be back!
Our waitress was very sweet but it took quite awhile for her to take our order and even longer to receive our food. Constantly had to ask to have drinks refilled. Appetizers were good. Ahi tuna and smoked wings were delish. Main entrees were very very salty. One person in our party had the salmon and it was over done while another had it a tad undercooked.
Great steak restaurant! A bit noisy, but lively. Good service, friendly staff.
This restaurant was a delightful surprise with excellent service and delicious cuisine. You will no doubt enjoy the ambience and everything that comes with it.
Our waiter, Danny was very lax. Weren't greeted by him for almost 15 minutes in a half empty place. He was a little too causal with his speech, not the kind of respectful, proper service and speech you should get. This is supposed to be a nice restaurant, not a buddy's football party. Mumbled a lot. Reached over people numerous times without as much as an excuse me or I apologize. He did, however, know the menu well, and explained everything. Food was decent, my ribeye steak had a LOT of fat. Bread was so hard we couldnt even cut it with a steak knife. Flavors were good tho. I'm not sure for the over $250 we spent for 4 people that I would entertain going back.
Firebirds never disappoints me. In all aspects it’s great! A favorite place of mine and my friends.
We ended up doing a reservation which got us in a lot quicker. Our waiter was very good and attentive. One of our steaks came out overcooked, but they took it back. The manager immediately came over and inquired and when the steak was ready, the chef came out to deliver it himself. These things happen but for them to clearly take such attention to the matter was impressive. I will definitely be coming back!
Great food and service. A bit pricey for an everyday meal
I took my husband for his birthday. He loves steak and I was hoping that he would love the menu. We drove from Baltimore and it was so worth it. The service was great! Not just one waiter, several waiters and all working in unison. My husband enjoyed his steak so much he wanted to return the next night for dinner. The atmosphere was quiet and somewhat casual. The décor and natural lighting from the large windows made this the perfect place for a quiet and cozy dinner for two. We enjoyed every second of our time here, from the young ladies greeting us upon entering on down to the impressive service and impeccable meal. We will be returning in the near future. Thank you.
Gaithersburg, MD. Food was great and waiter was very attentive. 5 stars
Eric was our server and gave excellent service. He is professional, friendly, and timely. What I will say if you are salt sensitive make sure to put that on the reservation. The peel of the loaded baked potato is encrusted in salt and therefore leaks into the heart of the potato. Otherwise, everything else was superb and will go back again.
The food was delicious and our waiter Gabe was wonderful. The only complaint that we had was there were ALOT of flies around our table and food and on the windows.
Good food nice portions. Service spotty but well intended. Split dinner in the kitchen with no hassle.
There were 5 adults; we all had different luncheon dishes and we all enjoyed them immensely. I had the Durango burger (again) and it was just as good as I remembered from earlier visits. The service was great and I especially enjoyed the lemonade!
The service was outstanding. The children and the adults found our wait staff delightful.
This was my first time back to Firebirds after they updated the menu. For me I like the new menu as it has more options in that I prefer.
Overall good but food quality was average. Also too much noise from outside traffic. I would go again with open mind.
Overall we love Firebirds however this is the third time we have gone and had gnats flying around our food. It begins to make you wonder about the cleanliness of the restaurant.
Service was a little off
Meal came with wrong side and they basically forgot to bring the right one
Manager was very apologetic and made an ashy to bill
We ordered our food and it arrived timely and prepared well. Service was very good. We were there at 7PM on a Friday and everything went smoothly from reservation to paying the bill. We will return.
pretty good restaurant in the middle of Gaithersburg, MD. Never knew it was high-end, but the quality of food was really good. The Lemonade was refreshing, and the steak was well prepared. Deviled eggs appetizers were okay but a twist of flavor would have helped it leave an impact to my taste buds. overall quality of Service was excellent and there was plenty of room to accommodate customers (6pm on a Friday). the dining area was pact around by 6:30 so very popular.
The experience was okay except the restaurant was very noisy.
Always a consistent go-to for a great tasty good value steak meal! Fun drink menu, good wine selection. The service was fantastic.
Crab cake appetizer with garnish was excellent as were port mushrooms and fresh sauteed vegetables. The bacon wrapped tenderloin and the French fries were over salted so I would ask them to hold back on the salt next time. The wait staff was very attentive and professional. This is a nice addition to restaurant options in the Gaithersburg area.
Appetizer (jalapeño and bacon deviled eggs) was phenomenal. Meals were pretty good. Service was slow and some food came out cold.
Hunter and Isaac were great servers and made our dinner special.
Wine list is exceptional and the food was wonderful.
Great, and Samantha was an awesome waitress.
We went to Firebirds for my son's birthday and got outside seating on the patio. We sat next to two flower boxes with long-dead plants in them, and when the overhead light came on, it annoyingly was flashing like a strobe light all through dinner. It otherwise was dark on the patio, and we noticed no one had turned on the patio overhead perimeter lights, so we had to ask our server if they worked, and she had to go to the manager to get them turned on so we could see what we were doing between strobe flashes. The server then offered us bread to start out with, only to come back minutes later saying the restaurant was out of bread, and there apparently was nothing else they could offer as a substitution. I asked to have the manager come out to talk to us, but she never showed up (I realized later the manager spent at least 15 minutes chatting up some couple she knew elsewhere on the patio). The waitress tried her best, but she was let down by poor management and ignored maintenance. The place is slipping after a year.
FYI, it would be nice if the Firebirds Chicken Pasta had a side dish option like a salad. It seems random which entrees have a side and which ones don't.
The place is good for happy hour if you get there early enough to get a seat in the bar area.
Spectacular food. Terrific waiter Eric! Yum. Go!
Eric , Kenny and Miles provided excellent service. RAHSHAWN THE
MANAGER Went out of his way to be helpful. However I want to know why I did not get my 100 points. I checked in at the front desk properly. Please help
Fly kept buzzing around our table.
For the price, the quality and value of the cocktails and food was extremely uninspiring.
