   I've eaten at Foreign Cinema at least 50 times over the years and have never had a bad meal. The ambience, service and fabulous menus places it in my top 3 restaurant s in SF

   Came here to celebrate a birthday - it was the perfect spot for a special evening! The atmosphere was a great combination of chic & lively - not too noisy so we could enjoy our conversation, but not too quiet where it felt like you were getting eavesdropped on. All the food was delicious, from starts to mains to dessert. Fresh, vibrant flavors and beautiful presentation. Looking forward to returning for a future special occasion and having the chance to try a different seasonal menu.

   The outdoor area is an airy plain space between buildings, with a blank wall where a movie was shown once it got semi-dark. It’s an ok effect- you aren’t there to see a movie. The food was sublime and delicate. The 5-spice duck entree was very flavorful, but a pretty skimpy portion for the price. The man who had the pork chop next to me got a much better value. Wonderful butterscotch pot de crème. Noisy but pleasant.

    My wife and I came for our anniversary dinner. We have heard about this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Our server knew the menu word for word and provided great recommendations for our dinner. Though it is not a place we can attend every weekend, it great for a date nigh or dinner with friends. Very much enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and service was great. We did not wait long for food or drink especially for a Friday night.

    The food was delicious. I ordered the Ribeye, which I've had before and it's one of the best steaks I've ever had. I went with my parents this time since they were in town and they both ordered it too, and also thought it was one of the best steaks ever. Very good drinks and great service.

    We served ourselves water, we had to call over waiter several times, we weren't able to get the pop tart at the end of the meal; BUT still love foreign cinema brunch and cocktails.

    We love Foreign Cinema! We brought friends from out of town who loved the food and charm of the restaurant. It is a dreamy little space to eat in the city. I've been here for brunch, lunch and dinner and it never disappoints. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and on point! Excellent service! If you haven't been to this gem, make your reservations now, for great food, beautiful atmosphere and can be a romantic date place as well. I've even been to a gorgeous wedding here!

    We celebrated our anniversary. The host greeted us with anniversary wishes. There was an anniversary card on the table for us. All the wait staff wished us a happy anniversary, and there was a happy anniversary wish on paper that accompanied our dessert. The service and the food was fantastic. This restaurant and ALL its staff made us feel special. Can’t wait to go back and try more items from the menu.

    For a restaurant in the highly competitive restaurant scene of San Francisco to survive this long—nearly 23 years (and I was around when it first opened)—speaks for itself. In all that time, the food and overall experience have been stellar.     Food and venue are impeccable. A San Francisco treasure. Indoor room is VERY LOUD. Service can be spotty.
