Founding Farmers - King of Prussia
Third time here. Unfortunately the experience did not live up to our previous visits. Party of six including a nine year old and a thirteen year old. Great menu for kids. The good is the atmosphere and management's accessibility during the dining experience. They are always around and checking in. The bad was the service and the meal. While the service was friendly, there is no way it should take 20 minutes to have a loaf of bread (paid for, by the way) delivered to the table. We ordered two chicken sandwiches (the kids), a spicy fried chicken, a steak and frites, a spicy chicken salad , two appetizers and drinks. All the chicken was significantly overcooked. That was not true on our previous visits. The mac and cheese came out cold, but was replaced quickly. We had to ask for ketchup 4 times and wait 5 minutes after the food came out when we made sure the waitress knew we needed it with the order. The steak frites was outstanding and well priced. We spent over $200 on the meal and left disappointed and with questions about whether we will return. Management was apologetic and responsive, but the fact they were busy at 5:30 PM on a Sunday evening is not a valid excuse for the dining experience provided. If we return it will probably be on a weekday.
The food was good, nothing spectacular. It was very busy and loud. Service was very slow. It took us 25-30 minutes to get drinks after being seated, even longer to get our food order, and at least 30 min to get donuts even though they were pre-made.
I made a 2:30 PM reservation for party of two for brunch. We waited almost 40 minutes to be seated. The hostess admitted that they forgot about my reservation but they were very apologetic.
Met with my wife, sons and son's wife for brunch, we had a wonderful time. The service and food were great.
Overall a fine experience. The ambience is great. We didn’t realize on Sunday you can only do the buffet brunch (at $30 per person) until 2pm, so it was more expensive than intended. Didn’t find the food to be worth $30 myself but maybe it is for people who want to try a lot of meat. Buffet was okay, fun but not amazing food. It was fun to go with friends. Also took a while to get seated despite reservation.
Definitely will come back again! Our server was wonderful and the food was good!
The noise was insane, I couldn't hear my partner speak across the table due to the guests on all sides of us screaming across their tables. Fried chicken was amazing but seafood stew was very bland. Server was good.
Very good food and drink but it took FOREVER to get our food. We ordered a bread basket and it took over an hour to come out.
Craig was an excellent waiter. Good recommendations and very accommodating.
Always an enjoyable experience. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Celebrated our 10 year twins birthday and they brought out complimentary donuts and ice cream for them.
Good service good meal. Great friends with us.
Great good, good atmosphere, totally worth the wait
We were at Founding Farmers for the first time and for a birthday. It was a fun experience. The waiters and other attendants could not have been nicer. We were seated in a very comfortable booth and we enjoyed hearing from our waiter about the restaurant’s composting program. I had asked about the straws that came with the drinks. They are made of hay and compostable. The entrees were good but my favorite thing was the bread basket we ordered-a selection of the various breads carried at the bakery downstairs - served with butter and jam on the side. We will be back again, I’m sure.
Went for restaurant week. Would not allow us to do lunch special that was on their menu. Only offered us dinner deal at 2pm which was small app, entree, and dessert for $40. Not even a deal! Waiter hardly checked on us, asked for water several times and asked different people. Mushroom pasta sounded amazing but was very bland. Will not be back.
I loved brunch, but it was a little pricey. Overall, food was so good.
At first our experience did not start well, we made reservations for lunch for restaurant week, however FF only offers a brunch buffet Saturday and Sundays. The exclude buffet was not very clear that it was the only option and we were out of luck to have lunch. We brought our frustration to the Manager and he understood the confusion. He them offered to help make up the difference in cost between the lunch we where planning to attend and the cost of the buffet. Once we were seated, we had a fantastic experience, the food and atmosphere was great, the staff was friendly and very attentive. We would highly recommend FF, and if you are looking for a great Saturday or Sunday brunch it is a must. Thanks to Alexander Gost the manager for making our experience top notch. We appreciate it. Looking forward to our next meal at FF. PS the ice cream and doughnuts are amazing.
Great food!!! Went for the weekend brunch, there were not any servers passing out hors d'oeuvres, but our waitress brought us some, so we were able to partake in them. There is not egg option other than a Benedict and some scrambled eggs they have out on the buffet, which were not fun options for my party. The other location I have been to has a larger food variety, making for a better experience, BUT overall the food was still really amazing.
Place is really cool, atmosphere is great, but food has been consistently bad. Either over salted or under salted, dry chicken or undercooked crunchy pasta, cold food, etc. The doughnuts and coffee are really good though.
After being seated service was fast attentive. Overall a pleasant experience.
They ran out of cheesecake and prime rib
The waitress was excellent in the beginning but after awhile my daughter and I felt like we were being rushed and when we ask the waitress if she could take our picture ( just to capture the first tine being there and having our monthly mother/ daughter dinner date) she repeated jokingly ( I guess) “take your picture” well let’s just say it left a bad taste in our mouth. Unfortunately it take one little negative experience to dismiss all the positive.
Great cocktails and a great variety of food. Parking is insane so plan to arrive at least 20 minutes early to allow for that. It was a bit noise but it was a Friday night of restaurant week so not sure if that’s the norm. It wasn’t so bad we couldn’t talk but it was noticeable. Our server and the bar staff were friendly and responsive. Overall a nice night out that I would do again.
We had a large group at dinner for King of Prussia Restaurant Week. There was plenty to choose from -- not a stripped-down version for a fixed price. Entrees were great, from salmon to pasta to steak, and the donut flight for dessert was a BIG hit!
Had a great time! Amazing drinks, loved our server Taylor and overall amazing meal. Can’t wait to go back!
Only issue is that it was way too hot in the restaurant. The food was okay
Food was very good overall. One guest did the restaurant week menu and thought overall the portions were good. Only negative was for the dessert - donut flight, you didn’t get to pick the donuts. The fried chicken seemed to be small for a dinner portion but was delicious.
Our server was great. The staff presents a team effort in making the dining experience a pleasant one.
We went to lunch on a very busy day, & I felt that my food was not properly seasoned. I would like to to back & give it another chance - possibly earlier in the week. Even though I do not normally add (especially salt) & pepper to my food, I had to do so in order to make it tasty. The ambience & service was great. I love the location.
First time there..,Went in for a quick lunch at 12:50, but didn’t get out until 2:30pm. Extremely poor service at the bar. The bartender herself asked to get the manager herself. She mostly ignored me and had an attitude..never mind addressing the issue at hand. The food was good after the food was finally bought out by the manager. I was then again ignored when it comes to dessert time. I had to let the manager know again. I left without my desert which was included during restaurant week.
Very good service and large menu. A good place for either entertainment or business.
We took advantage of the Restaurant Week offer and were pleased with our meals. It was certainly a good value for three courses. My prime rib was good, but not as good as I remembered it from previous visits. It seemed more heavily sauced. Still tasty, but not as much last time. Fabulous cheesecake for dessert.
The food was delicious, great variety on the menu. Our server (Collin I think) was excellent. Only complaint is that it was pretty noisy but I feel that way about most places anymore. Definitely recommend it!
Went for restaurant week. Love the food. They are usually great with gluten free but the dessert on the restaurant week menu was a donut and they wouldn’t substitute the donut for a different gluten free dessert.
Went for lunch during Restaurant Week. Food was very good and a great value for $20. It was extremely full and service was a little slow, but overall a lovely dining experience. I’ve been here several times before, so I am obviously a fan!
Don’t go if you are interested in eating in a reasonable time. We arrived at 7pm and didn’t get our food until 8:40! My guest wanted to order a drink after dinner but the waitress never came back to our table. Actually the waitress didn’t take our order, the manager did, didn’t deliver our food, someone else did, and I had to flag her down for the check. I really shouldn’t have left a tip!
Three good meals but one unsatisfied person. He ordered the Prime Rib which was not up to his expectations. Poor quality of meat.
I love the FF experience. Beautiful place. Great customer service. Always. The food? Meh. We, African Americans know how our Southern dishes should taste. This time around, the deviled eggs had chopped onions in them. Why? That’s unnecessary and overbearing. The fried green tomatoes looked good—but the tomato itself was too hard. It should’ve been allowed to ripen a little more. Both items lacked overall seasoning. The tomato soup was delicious, as were the rest of the non-Southern items. I dined during Restaurant Week, so my lunch was reasonable—especially given the cause. Just my honest two cents. Thanks.
Went there during restaurant week and had a fabulous lunch for the price!!!!
Me and two co-workers went for restaurant week.
It was a very nice lunch- everything was delicious. we will definitely be going back.
Make reservations!! We were seated in the main dining area, they're bench seats & tables are very close together. We were basically on a date with the couples at either side of us. Get the donut flight, it was amazing!!
