Not the cheapest place to dine out, but well worth the money. Excellent standard all round!
Really enjoyable evening with friends for a double birthday celebration. Nice but relaxed.
Excellent as always, service, menu and quality of food a delight. Hard to beat for a special evening out.
Lovely place, was a very small table for 2 people and had to constantly move things around to make enough room. Service was ok, waited a bit too long to order drinks and also the gap between starters and mains was far too quick. Less than 2 minutes after we finished starter the main had arrived. These however are the only slight negatives. The food was outstanding and just the right size portions as well. I had crispy duck egg with bubble and squeak and it was beautiful, my wife had the lamb which was beautifully cooked with a great jus.
It is a reasonably expensive place c. £100 for 2 starters mains and 1 drink each. Worth the money though
The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and I can't recall having had a better meal in a very long time. The crab starter was fresh and very flavoursome. I had a steak which was cooked to perfection and served with superb triple cooked chips. Gorgeous chocolate torte to follow! All complemented by a bottle of well priced English sparkling wine. Coffee served in the garden rounded off a perfect late lunch! Based on this experience I'll be back and thoroughly recommend the Fox and Hounds.
It’s not cheap BUT is good value! The food is unlike anything you could cook at home and surely that is the point in dining out.
The staff are lovely without being obsequious.
Great food, good service, friendly and helpful staff and a really lovely pub. We'll definitely try it again!
A very good Sunday lunch, attractive surroundings a nice buzz.
You will not find a better Sunday lunch anyway near as good as the Fox & Hounds ANYWHERE! Always utterly delicious - looking forward to the next one
Really enjoyed our meal and the great service. Give the smoked haddock scotch egg a go - it was terrific.
Haven’t been here in a while, it’s been revamped to a fabulous high standard and fantastic ambience. It was Sunday so Sunday roast. We both had the roast lamb, certainly don’t stint on the portions as you can see. The food is sublime and enjoyed every mouthful. Service was excellent, efficient and friendly. Would highly recommend this place and we will be back again
The food was delicious as always. This pub has a talented chef!
We visit regularly because of the excellent food and service. It was great to see the place busier again after lockdown. We will be back!
Food and service excellent as always. Dog friendly, my labrador does enjoy a chip or two! Best chips anywhere, so he's lucky!
Lovely pub. Very good food, fresh, well presented served quickly. Attentive helpful service. We will come again
Best restaurant in the area by far! Absolutely love it here
Excellent service, excellent food. Well thought out recipes that had complex flavours that worked together well.
The Fox and Hounds is a lovely old pub with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are lovely, the food is good, although the lunchtime set menu is maybe a little limited, the Haddock and chips were good though.
It is the sort of place where you feel relaxed and looked after as soon as you walk through the door.
Fantastic Sunday lunch - beef, lamb, chicken and fish absolutely flawless. Couldn’t recommend more highly!
A very warm welcome on arrival…. Had delicious cocktails whilst waiting for our friends to arrive. Lovely choice on the menu with new items added since we last came…. Fabulous food, ambience, wonderful waiter service from Murrun, as it was a busy night a few options were sold out but alternatives were suggested and equally delicious. A fantastic evening. Thank you to all as always that work so hard in such a busy restaurant…. We enjoyed every second. X x x
Had another great meal.aa usual here.
Lovely service great food.
Best meal out I've had in a long time! The food was lovely. I had the battered haddock, chips and mushy peas and then chocolate torte and boozy raspberries. We had snacks instead of starters which were also great. We'll be coming again.
Super food, efficient service and friendly staff. It’s unusual these days for a restaurant not to offer any vegetarian main courses - this would be my only suggestion for improvement.
First visit, came as family of four. Table inside. Nice ambience, lots of happy locals. My husband and son were impressed with the beers available. I was impressed that they offer Cava, English Sparkling wine and Champagne by the glass (I hate Prosecco). The food was excellent, and the servers were friendly and efficient. We will be back.
Our Sunday lunch was delicious. Need to know how they get their roast potatoes so crispy on the outside and soft & fluffy inside! The meat was so tender and gravy rich & decadent. The only thing I would say is that it could have been a bit hotter as I’m a slow eater and need my dinners to come piping hot to start with! Apart from that, yummy!
Still the best roast. Always amazing.
The set lunch menu was great value and excellent food. Good choice of ales and cider and friendly service.
Lovely food and wine, excellent service. Only comment is I would have liked a bit more choice of vegetarian food. Lovely and clean inside.
Brilliant Sunday lunch venue. Great quality food with very friendly and efficient service. Our 'go to' lunch place now.
Roast potatoes extremely tough and difficult to eat. Broccoli much too sl dente.
Love it here, been many times & never disappoints.
Food was very good, although the chips had too much salt on them for my liking. Service was excellent.
Really good food and nice friendly staff. We had 2 starters each as although the main courses looked delicious we felt that the main course menu was a bit heavy for a summer lunch.
A delicious lunch, served piping hot and fresh. Pleasant service and very good manager.
Food was delicious! Best Sunday roast we have had in a long time.
What a fabulous experience, great service and ambience with superb food. A real find, we will be back!
We enjoyed our v is it except for sitting opposite the open kitchen where we suffered the smell and smoke from what we were told was a problem they had when cooking burgers
Delivers everything promised in quality and, service and setting.
As ever the summer menu was packed with too many delicious options. Excellent deal with two courses for £15. Delicious, beautifully presented meal that my friend and I loved. Had puddings which were equally fabulous…. My friend delighted at hers arriving on a Happy Birthday board. A relaxing and enjoyable few hours in the sunshine with as always superb service from James, McKenzie and Ricky.
Everything thing was really good so glad we went such a nice friendly place and the food was excellent too
