Honestly, everything we had was good. I highly recommend the baked Brie appetizer, had we known it was so good we would have ordered two for the table. The fondue dinners are excellent for sharing and just an over all fun experience. The dessert fondue was amazing and fun for the table as well as great for kids. We will definitely be going back.

Meh… been here several times before years ago. I’ll never return. I came for the the fondue, it was disastrous. The waitress seemed offended when I politely said that the fondue was horrible. Steak Diablo was tasty, but what isn’t when smothered with a salty sauce?

service was terrible, waitress not attentive at all, other wait staff were rude to our kids and we felt unwanted. Went there for the first time for my birthday dinner and we took our kids....will never go back. Food was okay, but no place is worth bad customer service.

I rarely complete performance surveys but in this case Friar Tuck's deserves the time and attention. We have eaten at Friar Tuck's on several occasions over the years, and we can always count on a great meal and great service. I would also offer that the New York steak sets Friar Tuck's apart from the rest; one of my top three in that regard. From a service standpoint, the online reservation site worked well and it was very convenient. Our hostess and waitperson were pleasant and helpful, and our meals were timely served as ordered. I also found your question regarding the sound level in the restaurant to be interesting. I am hearing impaired and our hostess responded politely and completely to our request to be seated in a more quiet section of the restaurant. All in all, very nicely done. We'll see you the next time we're in Nevada City.

my wife and i ordered steak, it was well presented. However the steak was so chewy and tough we could not eat it . I would never order a steak again it cost $34 should have been a very nice stek not eatable i am sorry to say. also had the onion bread not as good as i had remembered. We also had desert my wife had the tiramisu. Beautiful presentation avery good dessert. I on the other hand had the creme brulee, at least that's what it was said to be. I have had this desert in many places, what was presented was by far the absolute worst i have ever had. I do not normally write a review but after spending $165.00 I felt we could have had a much better meal at McDonalds for less than $20 bucks. The waitress was a real nice person.

The food was good - steak, lamb chops, and caprese salad. Bottle wine selection was also solid. We were seated in the front of the restaurant where the hostess station was, despite us having for a special occasion (there are much more intimate tables in the back). Service was good but several staff told us that it was busy for them on a Saturday night & caught them off guard. We were in no hurry but had our entrees coming to the table before we had our salad and cocktails finished.

The cheese fondue was horrible. Our table and several others sent it back. And apparently they make one large batch, that batch tasted like hot white wine. I love cheese and wine however all we could taste was wine. And they wouldn’t mix up another batch. So a ton of us just had the meat with hot oil. Super disappointed!! Fondue dinner is $37 a person and we couldn’t even eat half of it. No discount they did give us a dessert to share. However my daughters and I really felt $120 for what we got was crappy.

We have enjoyed Friar Tucks for many years. Always was a great experience, service & food. Was disappointed to hear that the Health Dept closed it down the night before we went. Things happen. We understand that. Our problem is a family or group came in with a full size dog was not to be a service dog. They were seated at the table next to us. The dog was restless to say the least. Server brought the dog a bowel of water. Don’t get me wrong, We love dogs. Just not at a fine dining restruant that cost us $121 for dinner with tip with no drinks. Anyway because the dog was allowed my wife says we will not come back. Sorry!

The food was great! It was the cosmopolitan that was not great. It was so very sweet. I could not detect a drop of cranberry juice. I had stated the occasion for us dining there being husband's birthday. It was never acknowledged. While other tables were brought a cupcake with a lit candle.

My family loves FT’s and this was our first time back since Covid. With a few menu changes I was sad to see the coconut shrimp gone but overall our food was delicious. The garlic bread was a step above the tucks onion bread that we found soggy. The prime rib was delicious but unfortunately was cold when brought to the table. My husband got Blue Champagne and it was amazing and of course the seasonal veggies and potatoes are always a treat. Great wine and a pretty good dessert though the Tiramisu was also changed from times past. Overall was a great experience and our waitress was very kind and attentive though sad that a few of my favorites were changed or gone completely.

We did really love the main dishes however the fondue didn’t taste like cheese in any way. It tasted so much like wine we couldn’t eat it. Service was a little slow for how slow it was that night but they were very nice. All in all I would still recommend this restaurant to others but hopefully they get my message about the fondue.

this was our third time eating at your restaurant. first two were good but the third time was pretty bad. We had out of town guest, and we thought we would take them to a good place. There were four of us. My steak was overcooked, the broccoli was almost raw (the stems were too long). I wanted to send it back. the bread for the cheese fondo was so dry and no flavor. Guests had the Prime rib (their comments were, it could have been warmer), and the Yorkshire Pudding was just awful. Guest picked up the bill and I was so embarrassed that they paid for a bad meal. I live in Colfax, and I don't think I would ever drive that far again. James Pence

We have been once before and really enjoyed the fondue with family on a cold winters night. This time we had the crab Louie salad and my steak, chicken Marsala ( really good) and French onion soup. Everything was great, servers were attentive and helpful. Enjoyed the live music at a perfect noise level so we could still talk. Sadly the costs are getting a little high to bring the whole family out to a nice red like yours any longer.

You are really missing out if you’ve never tried Friar Tucks!! They are consistent with the service, the quality of the food and the atmosphere! We have never had a bad experience! I just wish I could have the “Bubble & Squeak” by myself! As nobody ever wants to enjoy it with me! Had the Scallops this time and they were amazing! Our reservation was early enough so we could sit in one of the booths in the bar area and listen to the really good live music!

We felt rushed.... We had a large group. We took my wife for her 60th. I believe that our waitress likely had too many tables to cover and she did her best to provide the level of service she had time for. Would have liked it to feel 'more special' for the amount of money and the event itself we were there for. We have been there several times in the past traveling from Sacto. Food did not seem as good as it has been in the past. Ribs were to dry. Owners did come by just as we sat down, which was nice. Had they came back after or towards end of our meal, we would have provided some feedback.

Had a great evening for my wife’s 50th birthday. Service was great as was the atmosphere. The only reason why I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 was because the fondue was really sharp and intense and that was what we were looking forward to. Other then that, everything was wonderful.
