Took my husband for his birthday brunch. This place was stunning and very historical. Our server was a Filipino and he was super nice. He always attended our needs. Buffet was amazing and delicious. It was so relaxing and so peaceful in there. Sadly, when we billed out we got charged twice, it was a mixed up but they handled it properly. Will definitely visit this one again!

I had such an enjoyable afternoon treating my nieces to High Tea. The savories were delicious, the sweets were my favorite but the best part is the overall presentation and service received. It was amazing and my guest had a wonderful time.

Basic choices and low quality food. Awful coffee. It's often so sad to experience mass produced and low quality coffee and food in such historic places. Space and decors are romantic and nice reminder of the old world but food is awful

Aside from the incredibly beautiful setting, the remainder was average at best. We had the breakfast buffet which was very overpriced in my estimation. The food was strictly average and nearly every item held in the warming dishes was room temperature. The French toast was Overcooked , they ran out of cream cheese and didn’t replace them for at least 30 min. Had to ask them to replenish the bagels on serving table. Great looking berries and fruit were sour. Wait staff seemed insufficient for the number of guests. Enjoyed the setting immensely but likely won’t return for breakfast / brunch

Magnificent ambiance with impeccable yet unobtrusive service. Food is good although definitely expensive. Come to admire the location and is definitely better value if you have some kind of dining credit as hotel guest in the Palace Hotel.

Hadn’t been Marriott took over management. Still stunning location, so European. 2 courses $38, entree and dessert. Nice service, and attentive even though they got busy. Excellent sole, delicious salad with pesto shrimp, bread pudding and cake. Must come back for the breakfast buffet in the future. Enjoy!

Classic upper-end hotel breakfast in an AMAZING space. Beautiful, classic architecture, very open quiet. Great to relax and recharge. Pastries and fruit were fine. Pricey, but what I’d expect for a luxury hotel. I got the free coupon as a Platinum member. Inly $7 to upgrade to the full buffet.

I love the Garden Court, it’s a beautiful location and gives a workaday lunch a lift. Weekday lunch is a prix fixe 2 course, which I think is reasonable value; only issue I had was that there was no vegetarian option except leaving chicken or shrimp off the salad, surprising given the location and population the hotel serves. The kitchen added some broccolini (which was delicious and a generous portion), but I’d have preferred a protein . Dessert was small, but we were quite full by then anyway. Aside from that we had a nice lunch.

The Gallery offers an extraordinary ambience for almost any dining experience. The one regret is that the menu restrictions, presumably a product effected by the effects of Covid on operation is unfortunate. Previous visits where we were able to select our dining and drink choices, cost quite aside, enabled a far more enjoyable experience.

Absolutely lovely afternoon high tea experience! Wait staff was cordial, professional, & attentive. The hostess was a bit aloof & not terribly warm which didn't make a great 1st impression. The seating was great-along a very comfortable cushioned bench (for 1 person) & chair seating for the other person. Would recommend the staff spend some time really brushing crumbs out of the cushions & out from b/w the mesh of the placemats. It's somewhat minor, but for a Luxury Collection property, these details are to be expected. Food: The little plate of berries was a nice touch, but one of my blackberries had a little mold on one of the bulbs (surprising for a Luxury Collection property). And, it was clear that the berries had been plated quite some time ago b/c one 2 of the blackberries were a bit flattened on one side, indicating that it had been sitting there for quite some time. Sandwiches were uniformly delicious & plated beautifully. The sweet items that came in the tower were impressive! The scones at the bottom were moist and perfect degree of cumbly. There was a little plate of whipped butter, jam, and lemon spread. [Of note, the white ceramic cup with the jam had smears of jam around it; probably should be wiped clean before placing on table, again b/c of the caliber of this property.] Ordinarily, I don't take anything in my scones, but the whipped butter + berry jam offered a sweet, but light, highlight to the pastry--I highly recommend it. The tiramisu, cheesecake, chocolate covered strawberries, and apple crumble were delicious and beautifully arranged. I had the Sweet July tea which was a black tea. I usually do not use milk/sugar in my tea, but for afternoon tea, I found 1 sugar cube per cup of moderately steeped tea to offer a nice balance to the entire dessert. All in all, I recommend the experience. Overall, 4 stars with the deduction for hostess and tidiness/crumbs in sofa/placemat.

Service was not as expected for location and price. Our server walked away very quickly leaving only a split second to request our tea pot to be refilled. She did not hear us at least twice. When she did refill the pot it wasn’t enough for a full cup, almost as of water was being rationed. I would not recommend the tea service again for the price we paid and less than stellar service.

I went to the Sweet July Tea at the Garden Court restaurant at the Palace Hotel. Ayesha Curry’s tea sandwiches and desserts were delicious, and in generous portions. The hotel and staff really let her down as a place to showcase her creations however. They admitted they overbooked the event, so we waited at least 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated despite there being numerous open tables. We asked for water three separate times (twice to what appeared to be the floor manager) before getting any. There were no table cloths used (not a proper tea) for the event and the table felt sticky. The wait staff was a bit abrupt in their lack of skill and frumpily dresses, just as they have been the last two times I’ve dined there (2012& 2015)). I had just had afternoon tea at The Plaza, NYC in May. The Garden Court SF was nowhere close in service and overall experience, being saved only by Ayesha’s food and the opulence of the building.

We made reservations for the Garden Court special for $90 but was given champagne when we sat down and charged $110 per person on our bill. We did not ask for the champagne or told that it was extra by staff. We asked the staff how we order or what each special entailed and they didn’t explain it very well besides taking our order for the tea. I told her we made reservations online for the Sweet July Signature Tea for $90 but we’re ignored. We were not the only ones who were also confused at the bill when seeing the additional charge for champagne. The only response staff gave was “you were charged for the champagne because you drank it.” The garden court is beautiful and the experience would have been perfect had we not had this unexpected charge.

Beautiful place, I loved the vibe! Our server was not very friendly. We asked her about the Sweet July menu and she didn’t know much about it. My best friend is pregnant and so she could not eat certain items, so we asked for the menu again to look at the ingredients, but our server never brought it. We would ask her questions and she would seem annoyed. Overall, I was not very pleased with our experience.. but the food was decent. I probably would not go back.

Open Table is such a MASSIVE disappointment as an app. For what I have now had 3rd mess-up when using the app for reservations. Drove an hour to SF for Ayesha Curry’s Sweet July Garden Court Tea Time event. When booking this on Open Table for AC Sweet July I was directed to the Breakfast times. Upon arrival and trying to change to the Sweet July, they are totally booked for the day. Disappointed, we left with only having to show for it a $30 parking cost. So all dressed up, we drove an hour each way, crossed 2 bridges paid tolls all for nothing. This 3rd Open Table mess, will be the last time I use this app only to be disappointed (the other 2 instances the restaurants were actually closed). For all the planning and people coordinated for these outings of as much as parties of as much as 4, words just can’t describe HOW BAD YOUR PRODUCT ACTUALLY DOES NOT WORK.

The breakfast was ok. They had very few options. Also, made to order eggs was not advertised or marketed. Its not worth 38$ per person. It would be worth it if they had more options like - Egg Burritos, Bagels, Grilled cheese, Burgers, hash-browns, milk shakes etc. Improve and enhance the breakfast menu and break the status quo. I am sure more people would come and enjoy the breakfast !! Thank you !!
