    We just expected a bit more from the Palace. Our reservation was honored on time and we were rushed to our table. The waiter came immediately and was very polite and efficient. After we got our full service, but pastries before sandwiches were finished, we didn't see anyone again until time for the check. No hot water refills for our tea, no one to ask if we needed or wanted anything further. The egg salad sandwich was phenomenal, great flavor and texture with a nice smattering of anchovy. Smoked salmon was definitely meh. Way too much dairy, barely and salmon and not much in the flavor department. The crab was nice with actual crab flavor on a tasty and hearty green bread (no idea what it was). The cucumber sandwich was a standard tea-time cucumber sandwich. There was a good selection of tea, of course, but as stated above we only got one pot, and that stuff gets cold and bitter without a refill of hot water. The pastries were mixed. There was a chocolate coffee petit four with a lot of flavor and just the right balance between snap and creamy. The 'cheesecake' was more of a mousse and fairly bland. The scones were delicious, but be ready for the pearl sugar. I liked it but my friend was really not a fan. Chocolate dipped strawberry - by then I just popped the chocolate off because it was just too much sugar overall but the strawberry was fresh and ripe and refreshing enough to cut all the richness. I skipped the raspberry mousse, my friend gave at weak thumbs up and skipped taking mine. The macarons were pretty but damp. I imagine they'd been sitting in a hot kitchen but who knows. All in all it's always a treat to go to the Palace but I'm pretty sure I won't be shelling out that kind of money for that kind of money, there are better tea services in the city. But there aren't any better atmospheres.

    I would not recommend this high tea. Having been to many high teas throughout the world, this ranks at the bottom. It took 30 minutes for anyone to come by, our sandwiches were almost finished before the champagne arrived, and the food felt like a factory delivery. The whole room’s food came out at the same time. The sandwiches were average at best and tasted like they had been prepared many hours before. The garden court rooms is stunning though, definitely worth a visit for a drink, but not for high tea

    Absolutely stunning setting in large, open dining area. Elegant and classic. The service is good and breakfast was relatively busy and well attended. The food was prepared quickly, although we chose simple options (oatmeal and a break basket). the buffet looks amazing.

    Such a beautiful setting but it was overshadowed by our mediocre service. We had to repeat our order 2-3 times to the server who didn’t write anything down. And she forgot my toast. And never checked on us. When it was time to get the check and pay she was nowhere to be found. I would expect 5 star service for this type of establishment.

    Took a trip down memory lane Loved every minute, the lovely surroundings, the politeness and kindness from the staff Unfortunately the Palace doesn’t do Sunday brunches anymore, but the breakfast buffet was nice I’d love to do this again

    Love tea time! Such a great experience for myself and my daughter the ambience was great, and it made it feel like it was a special event. The hotel is gorgeous. For what feels like small portions, we actually ended up full. The only thing is it’s so pricey! So good for special occasions but not for every day eats.

    Eduardo made this afternoon tea outing so special! He was always available and anticipated anything we might need while being unobtrusive. His kind professionalism allowed us to spend a nice quality afternoon together! The location was incredible, exhibiting the opulent 1920s at its finest, transporting you to a time where gold glistened and gilding highlighted the fine fixtures. The natural lighting was very complimentary to the overall ambiance. The tea was good and the savories were unique, delicious and filling. The scones were first class! The desserts were plentiful, leaving us all very full. The price was a little high, but I’m glad we made time for this experience!

    ZERO vegan option and when asked, they said they could make some "rice, swiss chard, and cauliflower" like okay what year do you think this is? Staff was very nice and attempted their best, so this is NOT a reflection on them. She even brought me bread rolls and a plate of berries! But, seriously, for SF, it's laughable they wouldn't have a vegan option listed--or at least at the ready! It's time to evolve, Garden Court. Psst, "garden" is already in your name! Still, ambiance was a big part of it as my friend had never been. We made the best of it!

    I will not make reservations for more 2 in the future. Our group consisted of 9 diners and the service charge plus tip, automatically added to our bill, were outrageous. My wallet was cleaned out. The presentation of my sea bass was lovely but the fish was over cooked and a bit dry. I would hesitate eating in the Garden Court again. I wondered why it was not crowded at lunch. Now I know why.

    Excellent and cordial service for professional and competent staff! Brunch menu items acceptable but definitely have room for improvement. Nice pastries, Salmon and fruit presentations. The space is awe inspiring and gorgeous! Thanks for everything. A nice time was had by all.

    Food was pre-made and somewhat stale; crabmeat was brown in color and fishy in smell and taste. Service was very polite, but not very attentive (not clearing soiled plates, never offering water, not checking on how things were tasting). Overall, we spent $260 for afternoon tea + valet parking. Beside the historic and beautiful dining room, I would rate the food and service at a $40 value.

    The bass was so overcooked, it wasn’t edible. The waiter returned it and brought back another overcooked bass. Go for the ambience, it is beautiful, not the food.

    We had an excellent lunch at The Garden Court. It's an amazing place to dine - feels like you're back in the 30's/40's. There's plenty to observe and take in. The service was outstanding, and the food was awesome. We will definitely be back next time we're in San Francisco.

    Three of us did the Sweet July Afternoon Tea on a Friday. It was a lovely, quiet affair for a friend's 80th birthday- the room was 1/4 full, so not much actual noise. The savory bits were at least interesting, with a couple outstanding items. Our main server (Aida D?) was excellent. The room itself was its usual classy self - it's hard to beat chilling in the Garden Court for a couple hours with friends. The rest of the food items, both sweets and savories, were good, not amazing. The staff was OK, if disinterested. The check-in desk on the left was unstaffed until 5min before our reservations. Once we were seated and made selections, it seemed to take a long time before anything landed on our table. For our particular celebration, it was a perfect choice and I'd do it again. In a pragmatic sense, $400 with tax/tip for 3 people was pricey for what it was, even with the quality of the space.

    Great place to relax, but you are really going for the ambiance. They can improve by using fresher ingredients for the food and having live musicians play piano or jazz or chamber music. The elevator music they were playing really killed the vibe.

    I remember this as an elegant, sumptuous brunch some years ago. Now it is an extremely ordinary hotel brunch, with a couple of good steam table dishes, and some surprisingly poor ones (almost inedible French toast, completely flavorless chicken apple sausages). The only reason to go is for the beauty of the space. Other than that, there is nothing luxurious about it: no eggs to order, no carving stations, no desserts other than breakfast pastries. Very disappointing.

    The ambiance was magnificent. The staff were friendly, understanding, and patient. We did the Sweet July Tea Service and the food and the desserts were delicious. We couldn’t finish everything, but we made sure to take a bite out of everything!!!
