Named after the famous geisha district, Gion in Kyoto, Japan. Gion Beverly Hills is the first and only traditional Japanese tea house that features actual geisha from Japan. We offer the rare opportunity to view a live geisha performance and have interactions with the artists. Along with the geisha show we also serve delicious tastes of Japan inspired by Kyoto’s four seasons accompanied by a tea ceremony featuring wagashi(traditional tea ceremony dessert).
Located just a block away from Rodeo Drive on Camden at Brighton.

Geisha Show + Traditional Japanese Tasting | $495. Our traditional Tokyo Maiko geisha show (Matsunoya Corporation) is accompanied by a traditional Japanese tasting. The tasting menu includes nine different seasonal dishes. The menu is seasonal and as a result changes frequently with Kyoto's four seasons. This is a sample menu from Winter 2022. The tasting is served with sweet corn potage, Kyoto pickles, koshihikari rice, and homemade miso paste. Below are some of our current selections

Sweet and tangy cucumber salad that's topped with fresh crab meat

Hijiki from the rocky coasts of Japan. Tossed with tofu and edamame

Japanese sweet potatoes that are deep-fried in hot oil, and then candied in a sticky honey glaze

They told us to come at 1:15, when we arrived ,the owner said the show is already began at 12. There is no show at 1:15 which he promised through the phone earlier. And this kinda things happened TWICE! The owner did not feel sorry about it and was being really disrespectful to us at all. It’s not about money, I don’t care if you upgraded to a $500 show. I don’t need your upgrade without your sincere apologies . Is not that hard to committed mistakes . And it is not hard to apologize to the customer. Good luck with the business, and good luck for those are coming to this place. Highly NOT Recommit. Their customer service is terrible, nobody answers the phone at all. We were asking for directions , called them 10+ times. Literally nobody taking care at all. Extremely bad experience. ここはサービスが悪いし、失礼だから来ないで。 이곳은 서비스가 매우 형편없고 사람을 존중하지 않으니 오지 마세요. El lugar está mal servido y muy irrespetuoso. No vengas. 这个地方服务很差，很不尊重人，不要来。
Gion Beverly HillsResponded on July 12, 2022Abusive, late and ignored messages to confirm their reservation until 1am days later. We attempted to explain we did not have an experience at 115 the customer demanded we apologize for being wrong and when presented with the log of our communication that validated our explanation the customer cursed "f**k you and this horrible place" and hurled insults. We tried all that we could to accommodate but all efforts were met with anger. Everyone that day had a wonderful time and arrived at 1215.

This is a rare and potentially once in a lifetime opportunity to meet certified Geisha and Maiko from Japan. As someone who has a lot of business ties to Japan, I know first hand that this kind of experience is not easy or cheap to book even for Japanese in their home country. (In Japan Geisha will only perform and meet clients by referral and these people do not easily refer strangers as they are often VIP types.) The fact that you'll get to see and meet culturally protected icons here outside Japan and get to actually interact with them is something you cannot easily put a price on. Once this tea room is completed and properly opened, I am pretty sure I will be unable to have another one of these experiences due to it always being reserved months in advance. I will never forget the amazing food, tea ceremony, and the incredible sweets I was able to taste in the presence of professional Geisha who have dedicated their entire lives to their craft. Don't miss out and hurry to book your opportunity, this is probably your only chance!
